Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The previously undisturbed Goos awaken. In the first level of the game (World 1-1, 'Going Up'), what colour Goo is used?

Answer: Black

Black Goo is one of the most basic Goo types of the game. As demonstrated in 'Going Up', Black Goo can stretch in different directions on a maximum of two branches. Once a Black Goo is used, it is no longer able to be placed elsewhere, so every stretch of this creature will be a permanent deal. Like with most levels, the goal is to place the Goos into a mysterious pipe by any means necessary.

A goal will be given as to how many are required, and a secondary 'OCD' goal will be given to anyone who can complete it to the best they can. 'Going Up', the first level, is described as being 'Easy as Goo Pie'. To claim the OCD reward for the stage, you simply need to get the most amount of Goos into the pipe at the top of the stage (at most, you can send eleven Goos on their way).
2. What colour of Goo can be moved and placed multiple times?

Answer: Green

Green Goos are quite unique in the sense that they are the only Goos in the game to attach multiple times regardless of whether or not they've been used or connected to other Goos. Of course, keeping this in mind, you need to decide whether or not these Goos bear the load too much or two little so that an entire Goo creation doesn't come crashing down. Similarly, Yellow Goo can be reconnected to others and obstacles, but only after visiting World 3.
Green Goos are first met in World 1-4 ('Ivy Towers'), and upon discovering that these creatures can branch to up to three other Goos in a link, you can use them to climb, stabilize, and progress to certain pipes or otherwise.
At the completion of Chapter 1, 'The Goo Filled Hills', the Goos will enter a 'Regurgitation Pumping Station' in an attempt to fly away and see the other continents of the World of Goo.
3. Need to stir things up a little? What item will make Goos move positions to your liking?

Answer: Whistle

And so they progressed to the second chapter, 'Little Miss World of Goo', and the autumn season. As things got a bit blustery for the Goos, new clear Goos (much like water, but they can only connect to other Goos with a single branch) and Beauty Goos were discovered.

After the sixth level of the chapter, 'Leap Hole', you will find the 'Whistler' stage, home to a rather large Whistle. Pressing and holding A will create a sound to attract any type of Goo, causing them to shift along a structure (and change the distribution of the structure's weight if need-be) or pull Goos to whichever location you need for convenience. Completing 'Whistler' in less than 29 seconds will result in the OCD challenge being complete, and with the Whistle in tow, the completion of other OCD challenges will be made a bit easier in the long run.
4. Upon finishing the final stage of Chapter 2, 'Little Miss World of Goo', it is discovered that which of these is a source of power?

Answer: Beauty

About five levels into 'Little Miss World of Goo's' windy stages, the level 'Beauty School' will appear. This level is the first time that the Beautiful/Ugly Goos will be encountered. These rather large Goos will have either a beautiful or ugly face, and the only way to destroy them is by grinding them up in the cogs of spinning gears.

The resulting Goos will be portions of the creatures' eyes and mouths, and they will often be the only Goos to enter the pipe for their levels. By the final stage of the chapter, 'Genetic Sorting Machine', it will be discovered that the power of the Beautiful Goos will charge a rather large (yet still beautiful) power generator, and through the use of these and expensive cosmetic surgery, the World of Goo will open a large factory in Chapter Three.
5. Chapter Three, 'Cog in the Machine', will introduce Red Goo. What does this Goo do around fire?

Answer: Combust

The very first stage of this chapter, 'Burning Man', puts these unique, new Goos to the test. Throwing these poor, noble Goos into fire or building a structure that comes into contact with a flame will cause a spontaneous fire, destroying all Red Goos connected to the chain. Oftentimes, this will also create a chain reaction, destroying important obstacles. Red Goos will also be introduced alongside Goo Bombs. Also discovered in Chapter 3 are the Yellow Goos.

These lonely creatures will attach to pretty much anything with their spiky tendrils.

They are first encountered in 'The Third Wheel'. Like the Green Goos, they are reattachable at any time, though the Yellow Goos do take a smaller grip on their Gooey counterparts.
6. Which of these Goos can touch spiky objects?

Answer: Skull Goos

Skull Goos are simply different due to the fact that they're larger than most other Goos and they can withstand the punishment that would normally puncture or destroy other Goos. Their first level in World 3, 'Misty's Long Bony Road', consists of a long Black Goo chain that requires the use of Skull Goos for support across a spiky expanse of ground.
Following the discovery of Red Goos, Bomb Goos, Yellow Goos, and Skull Goos, the factory will lead to the final level of Chapter 3, the 'Product Launcher', where the Goos will need to ignite, and unveil the factory's newest product: Product Z.
Product Z, much to the disdain of the World of Goo's population, will shift the world into 3D. Tech support must be called, and the 'Information Superhighway' follows shortly thereafter.
7. The 'Information Superhighway', Chapter Four, is home to only a few types of Goos. The main Goos used here are two different shapes: circles, and which other 2D creature?

Answer: Square

A nice perk about this otherwise virtually green set of levels is the fact that Circle Goos can be shot (like a slingshot) off their Goo chains into other Goos to wake them up. While Circle Goos can shoot, Square Goos are mainly used in the construction of large, virtual Goo structures. Taking a trip down Chapter 4's 'Information Superhighway' is quite interesting.

As virtual Goos progress, they will use various gravity changes and environmental effects in order to progress to different areas and render the graphic capabilities of the superhighway. Eventually, colour will restore to the virtual zone and progression will be well on its way to the final goal of the area...a computer program.
8. An odd virus in the 'Information Superhighway' will change Circle Goos from Green into what colour?

Answer: Red

This virus, known as the Grape Vine Virus, is primarily found in the fourth chapter's third level, aptly titled 'Grape Vine Virus'. In this level, Circle Goos must be shot into the red virus pit below and turned into viral Goos. Unlike their Green Goo counterparts, these new Goos can form and connect much like Clear/Water Goos, but since they are infected, they will only connect to other Red Goos. Because Green Circle Goos on the Information Superhighway won't connect with one another (since Square Goos will), the Red Goo Grape Vine Virus is definitely an important one to catch. Later on down the Superhighway, Goos will also be joined by obstacle blocks which can be stacked to assist the Goo creatures in times of dire needs.

This will also be a significant help in the final stage of Chapter Four which requires no Goos.
9. What is the name of the computer program at the end of the 'Information Superhighway'?

Answer: MOM

When the Goos reach 'MOM's Computer' at the end of the 'Information Superhighway', a simple computer screen with an open window will be all that stands between the Goos and MOM. Unfortunately, it's not Goos that will finish this chapter, but other windows. Pressing the Application and Games icons on the side of the screen will result in new windows being created, and these can be built up past MOM's computer screen where MOM, a virtual program, will be waiting to proceed with her tasks. A quick conversation with MOM will result in the revelation that she is a spam machine. If anyone accepts her Terms and Conditions, her fun emails will grace the inboxes of the person on the other side of the screen. To stop Product Z and save the world, the only obvious choice is to send all spam and junk mail EVER MADE to 'Everyone' at 'World of Goo Corporation'. If you go to World of Goo's Headquarters and simply hit the Accept button, the World of Goo Corporation will be destroyed, taking Product Z with it...but what about all those Goos sucked into the pipes?
10. The last vestige of the World of Goo, what must be reached in the game's epilogue?

Answer: The Observatory Observation Station

In 'The Observatory Observation Station', the final level of the Epilogue of the the game, the world has been obscured by smog generated by the destruction of the World of Goo Corporation. All of the world's Goos have been sucked into the pipeline, and the end of the Corporation spelled the end of the Goos.

As the Observation Station, a giant telescope manned by the Sign Painter, is neared, the only thing that can possibly save the Goos is the fish of the sea. Grabbing these fish and attaching them to the telescope will raise it from the ground, up above the smog.

In the distance, a light, possibly the last hope, can be seen, and the Station slowly lowers back into the sea. Somewhere in space, the sight seen from the telescope, the Green Goos and eye balloons from the Regurgitation Pumping Station, slowly float through the expanses of the galaxy.

As they pass a planet...a new world of Goo slowly begins to awaken.
