Answer: University of Virginia

All attended the University of Virginia. Although Ted Kennedy is most associated with Harvard University he attended Virginia's Law School, after graduating from Harvard. Interestingly, in light of future events in his life, he was charged with reckless driving while at the University of Virginia.
2. Jim Morrison (singer, The Doors). Richard Simmons (fitness guru). Burt Reynolds (actor)

Answer: Florida State University

Jim Morrison was born in California, and spent most of his life there, however his father was in the U.S. Navy, and was transferred from San Diego to Jacksonville, Florida, early in Jim's life. Burt Reynolds was famously an All-Star halfback at Florida State.
3. Sigourney Weaver (actress, "Alien" etc.). Sally Ride (astronaut, first American woman in space). John Steinbeck (writer, "The Grapes of Wrath")

Answer: Stanford University

Steinbeck attended Stanford for several years before finally dropping out. Both Weaver and Ride received bachelor degrees in English. Sally Ride, also earned a bachelor degree in physics, a masters degree in physics, a Ph.D. in physics from Stanford.
4. Ken Jennings ("Jeopardy", all-time winner). Stephenie Meyer (author, Twilight series). Mike Weir (Canadian golfer, winner of 2003 Masters)

Answer: Brigham Young University

Jennings became famous in 2004, winning 74 games of "Jeopardy" and earning over $3 million. He did attend the University of Washington for one year, but not Washington State. Both he and Meyer are members of the Church of Latter Day Saints, and Mike Weir is rumored to be.
5. Orville Redenbacher (popcorn tycoon). Neil Armstrong (astronaut, first man on the moon). George Peppard (actor, "The A Team").

Answer: Purdue University

Redenbacher earned his degree in agronomy and earned a fortune in fertilizer before turning to popcorn. Armstrong earned a degree in aeronautical engineering (receiving only average marks). Peppard studied civil engineering after leaving the marines.
6. George Lucas (director, "Star Wars"). Salvatore Ferragamo (designer, shoes). John Wayne (actor, "The Duke").

Answer: University of Southern California

George Lucas studied cinematic arts at USC and at the time was friends with Steven Speilberg who applied to USC three times and was rejected every time. Ferragamo studied anatomy at USC, trying to understand why shoes which pleased the eye could cause pain to the foot. John Wayne, was nicknamed "Little Duke" by a local firefighter as a child, which he preferred to his given name Marion.

At USC he majored in pre-law, but never graduated after losing his football scholarship.
7. Jim Gaffigan (stand-up comedian). Bill Clinton (former President). Antonin Scalia (Supreme Court Justice).

Answer: Georgetown University

Gaffigan graduated from Georgetown's business school in 1988. After deciding he would never be a "great" musician, Bill Clinton thought he could be great in public service. He earned a degree in foreign service from Georgetown in 1968. Scalia graduated "summa cum laude" in 1957 with a bachelor degree in history, before going on to study law at Harvard.

Answer: University of Michigan

Miller majored in journalism before switching to English. He wrote his first play "No Villain" while at Michigan. James Earl Jones, never graduated from Michigan, he began in pre-med, and switched to drama. As an actor he is probably most famous for his voice, as a child he stuttered and refused to speak aloud. Kevorkian graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1952, he later went to prison for 2nd degree murder.
9. Larry David (actor, co-creator of "Seinfeld"). Jim Henson (puppeteer, creator of "The Muppets"). Carl Bernstein (investigative journalist, broke the Watergate scandal).

Answer: University of Maryland

Larry David received degrees in history and business. Jim Henson entered the University of Maryland hoping to be a commercial artist, but was inspired by a puppetry class and finally graduated with a degree in home economics where he first learned about textiles and puppet making. Bernstein's achievements as a journalist are well known, but his private life is quite eye-opening, and too complex to get into here!
10. Natalie Portman (actress, "Star Wars: Episode I"). Bill Gates (founder and chairman of Microsoft). Ted Kaczynski (terrorist, "The Unabomber")

Answer: Harvard University

Natalie Portman graduated in 2003 with a bachelors degree in psychology. Bill Gates never graduated, though he was later awarded an honorary degree. Kaczynski was accepted at Harvard at the age of 16, he later earned a Ph D from the University of Michigan and was an assistant professor at U.C. Berkeley.
