George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor, and Woodrow Wilson were all born in Virginia - eight in total.

Ohio comes second, with seven - Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes, James A. Garfield, Benjamin Harrison, William McKinley, William Howard Taft, and Warren G. Harding. Ohio sometimes claims Harrison as one of their presidents, since he later settled there, but he was clearly born in Virginia.
