I say it was so wrong JK killed Fred Weasley in the book.

It was the death of Hedwig. Maybe becuase it came so soon and I wasn't prepared for it at all. She had been by Harry's side and been loyal and true. It says alot about how wonderful a writer J.K. is to stir up that type of emotion in me.

I also feel so sad about fred dying. Poor fred. I would rather that Charlie died. (Not Bill because he just got married and not Percy either because he had just apologised to everyone. If Fred hadn't died then he and George could have made the jokeshop together.... it would have been such a happy ending....:(

Personally I wish they had all died a quick and painless death in the first few pages of the first book, and then there wouldn't be so many questions I can't answer.

I thought it was sad when Tonks and Lupin died. I really liked them.

I couldn't agree more, Surdoux. Rocks fall, everyone dies.

However, my favourite alternate universe ending is the one where Harry wakes up in the mental hospital, having imagined the entire thing, but still insisting he is the Chosen One. Endings like that in fanfics are the only things that keep me in the fandom. It's just too much fun.

Dumbledore (we need you!), Fred Weasley (what's George going to do?), Hedwig (she's been such a good companion to Harry on the holidays), Snape (he was so misunderstood and brave). I understand Rowlings reasons for having them die, but still. :(

Oh and Cedric. He totally did not deserve it, as he was nice, talented, good looking, and had just tied with Harry for the Triwizard tournament. And he was a good Seeker.

I agree with many previous replies, the death of Hedwig was the worst because it felt so unnecessary.

Pretty much every death in the last book....everyone drops like flies. Some are justified, but it just seems like everyone just drops dead for no reason.

Hedwig and Dumbledore. I wish more had been made about Hedwig’s death.

Dobby

When I read the series again I always cry at his death.

Hedwig's death is not as bad because it happens in the middle of the flight/fight, but the aftermath is bad.

The death that upset me the most was Dumbledore. I was absolutely devastated. Fred's and Sirius Black's deaths were next in line.

Dobby. It made me cried. Dumbledore's death was a big shock, but Dobby's death made me very sad. Also Sirius Black's death had made me very angry.

Fred Weasley. I can’t imagine how this boy actor Oliver Phelps could play this episode. He said he felt as if his twin brother was really dead!

Fred is what immediately came to mind when I read the question. Really, though, each of them was awful in its own way. I guess Hedwig would run a close second. It was completely unnecessary except to underscore that Harry was leaving his previous life and his childhood behind. That is, I understand the point Rowling was trying to make; it just seemed so wrong.
