I'd say Hedwig, Dobby and Fred (though Sirius was a blow). Hedwig almost had to not be around, because Harry and co were on the run for most of the last book - if Hedwig had been around it may have exposed them so in a way that was for the best. Dobby and Fred were both unexpected, Dobby going down defending Harry and thinking of George without Fred. (sob). Percy was the other one I was half expecting would die (as in the lead-up JK had apparantly said not all of the Weasley's would make it - obviously it wouldn't be Ron dying as JK had ruled that out). But since Percy had been on the outs with his family it would have just made it too tragic if he died the moment he reconciled with his parents. Reply #64. Feb 13 09, 8:55 AM |

It started off with Sirius for me...than Dumbledore and then hedwig...moody aswell...they just kept dying...i didnt like to say any of the ones who died die...Fred most devestated me...especially how she finished the chapter... Lupin and Tonks was sad...because it made Teddy the orphan like Harry.... Snape's death was sad...because i always had a love hate relationship with his character...in the end it was love! Colin Creevey died also didnt he?? thats sad too... and poor Dobby...like someone else said that was a shock! too many were worse! Reply #65. Feb 17 09, 4:00 AM |

Anyone on the Good side, actually. But I was positively shaken by Fred's death. And Dobby as well(Notice, Dobby's first and last words in the series is Harry Potter!) I also cried when Dumbledore died, though i sort of expected it. But this is war; some sacrifices have to be made. They must pay a price, after all, to rid the world of Voldemort. Reply #67. Reading these made me get teary eyed again about some of these deaths. Hedwig was the worse for me because she had been with Harry since the beginning and was his only friend every summer while he was with the Dursley's. It was the first death that made me burst into tears. Dumbledore was sad and I cried, but Hedwig was so unexpected. sniff, sniff Reply #79. May 02 09, 6:46 PM |

Oh, let's see...I'd have to say Fred and Sirius. With Sirius, I was like so depressed. And with Fred I was like, "But he has a twin!" Poor George. Reply #80. May 03 09, 3:39 PM |
