The three people that died that made me cry my eyes out were Dumbledore, dobby and Fred. I loved those characters. Reply #45. Nov 08 08, 7:24 AM |

Hedwig and Fred because they were with Harry in every book. Hedwig was more sad to me though. Reply #46. Nov 14 08, 4:24 PM |

Fred, definitely. I knew one of the Weasleys had to go but I was rather hoping for Percy, after a dramatic and tearful reunion with his family. Reply #47. Nov 14 08, 6:10 PM |

You may not agree, but I thought Wormtail deserved to live. He pretended he was dead and went straight back to Voldemort (that was bad) because Harry saved him from death. He realised that he was going to kill Harry and took his own life instead. Hedwig, Fred, Dobby, Mad-Eye, Lupin and Tonks were sad too. Reply #48. Nov 15 08, 2:25 AM |

Sirius's death was worse because he was the only nice member living of Harry's family and I almost cried, but then it has to be Hedwig because when he was lonely she was always there, from his first year. Reply #49. Nov 19 08, 2:24 PM |

I disagreed with many things, but Fred's death as one of the least. I expected one of the twins to die in the "Final Battle" Reply #50. Nov 20 08, 5:02 PM |

Same, but I didn't expect it to be whoever had their ear blown off because I thought that that was something horiffic for one of the twins and another thing would happen to the other. (Does that sound right?) Reply #51. Nov 21 08, 1:05 PM |

So many people seem to have twins :P I have one too, we're identical twin sisters and so Fred dying was sad. Poor George. Also Dumbledore because he seems so invincible. But at least Dumbledore's death kind of went with the story. Fred's was just unneccesary. If Joanne makes anotehr book, she should make Fred a ghost or he just passed out and Voldemort come back, even though I actually smiled to myself when he died and Harry didn't. That sounds a bit mean... Reply #56. Jan 06 09, 2:01 AM |

"snape deserved to die.." The total lack of capacity for love, forgiveness and tolerance expressed in this quote is astounding. As a character, Snape was horrified that Dumbles had plotted all along to lead Harry to slaughter. Snape shows far more compassion for a person he dislikes than the above statement does. I once had a literature teacher whose favourite comment was "literature teaches empathy." At times, though, I doubt it does. Reply #59. Jan 08 09, 12:22 PM |

Yeah, the worst would definitely be Fred. Still, it was a huge war and it would not have been so realistic if not one of the children died...so JK was right to kill at least one Weasley kid...once you think about it, what are the odds that they would all survive such a big war anyway?
