The series follows a mother who starts selling marijuana to support her children and maintain her upper middle-class lifestyle following the death of her husband. The show ran for a total of 102 episodes across eight seasons.
2. 24

'24' is a TV thriller featuring the character of Jack Bauer, a US counter-terrorist agent played by Kiefer Sutherland. The show uses a real time narrative method with each season consisting of twenty-four episodes each one covering one hour of a 24-hour time period.

The show initially ran for eight seasons from 2001 to 2010 with a TV movie called '24: Redemption' made in 2008. A limited, twelve episode special season, called '24: Live Another Day' aired in 2014.
3. Mad Men

'Mad Men' is a drama series set in the world of advertising during the 1960s. Jon Hamm plays the main character, Don Draper who is initially the creative director at the fictional ad agency Sterling Cooper. The show is based around Don and his relationships with those around him, both at work and in his home life.

The series first aired in 2007 and ran for seven seasons with season 7 airing half its episodes in 2014 and the final half in 2015.

'Love Actually' was released in 2003 and is a romantic comedy set at Christmas time. The film comprises of ten separate romantic stories that become interlinked as the film progresses. The film was written and directed by the British filmmaker Richard Curtis.
6. Pan's Labyrinth

'Pan's Labyrinth' is a Spanish language film by the Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro. The film had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006. The film is a fantasy film set in the 1940s in fascist ruled Spain with the real world setting intertwining with a magical world of an abandoned labyrinth which the main character, a young girl called Ofelia, explores. 'Pan's Labyrinth' was nominated for six Oscars winning in the categories of Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography and Best Makeup.
7. The Prestige

'The Prestige' was released in 2006 and is a psychological thriller centred on two rival magicians in Victorian London. The two main characters are played by Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale and the film was directed by Christopher Nolan who also co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Jonathon. The film was nominated for Oscars for Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography.
8. Legally Blonde

'Legally Blonde' was released in 2001 and is a comedy film about a blonde, fashion merchandising student who gets a place at Harvard Law School. The central character of the film, Elle Woods, is played by Reese Witherspoon. The film is adapted from the novel of the same name written by Amanda Brown.

A sequel to the film was released in 2003 and a musical adaptation of the film premiered in San Francisco in 2007 before transferring to Broadway.
9. Resistance: Fall of Man

'Resistance: Fall of Man' was one of the launch titles for the PlayStation 3 console being available when the console was first released in either 2006 or 2007 depending on the market. The game is a first-person shooter based in an alternate history version of the UK in the 1950s.

In the game the player takes on the role of a resistance fighter who must help to rid the earth of an alien race called the Chimera. The game saw two sequels released, one in 2008 and another in 2010 along with 2 spin-off titles for Sony's handheld consoles with 'Resistance: Retribution' released for the PlayStation Portable in 2009 and 'Resistance: Burning Skies' released in 2012 for the PlayStation Vita.
10. Agent Under Fire

'Agent Under Fire' is a 2001 first-person shooter video game featuring the character of James Bond. The game was originally released for the PlayStation 2 with versions for the GameCube and Xbox released in 2002. The game was originally developed as a video game version of the movie 'The World is Not Enough' but delays in its development meant it came out after the movie and thus was changed to be a stand-alone story and ultimately called 'Agent Under Fire'.

The game lets players use various different firearms and a series of gadgets which are accessed through Bond's mobile phone.
11. Borderlands

'Borderlands' was released in 2009 and became the first game in the 'Borderlands' series of video games. The game was originally released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PCs with a version for Mac OS X released in 2010. Versions of the game enhanced for modern consoles were released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2019, the Nintendo Switch in 2020 and the PlayStation 5 and Xbox X/S in 2023.

The game is a first-person shooter that incorporates character-building elements more commonly found in role-playing games and has been called a "role-playing shooter" by the developer Gearbox Software.
12. Battlefield: Bad Company

'Battlefield: Bad Company' was released in 2008 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. The game was the first in the 'Battlefield' series to be developed exclusively for consoles rather than PC. The game is a first-person shooter in which the player takes on the role of Private Preston Marlowe who attempts to steal gold from mercenaries during a fictional war between the US and Russia.

A sequel to the game, 'Battlefield: Bad Company 2', was released in 2010.
