1. SPORT: Former FIFA World Cup winner Italy failed to qualify for the 2026 finals. It is the third consecutive time they did not qualify. They lost their qualifying playoff final to which Balkan team on March 31, 2026?

Answer: Bosnia and Herzegovina

Former FIFA World Cup winner Italy (1934, 1938, 1982, 2006) made an unprecedented third consecutive time to miss the tournament after losing a dramatic qualifying play-off final to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Italy led by a goal in the 15th minute. However, the momentum shifted when Alessandro Bastoni received a straight red card in the 41st minute. After a 1-1 draw through extra time, they were beaten 1-4 by penalty shootout.
2. WORLD: In 2008, what nation in Europe implemented a unique law to disallow keeping guinea pig as a single pet?

Keeping one alone is considered a form of animal cruelty. To prevent loneliness, there are services which offer "rental guinea pigs" if one dies.
3. ANIMAL: What is the color of the ant scientifically known Catalglyhis bombycine that developed a remarkable heat shield to survive in the extremely hot habitat of the Sahara?

Answer: Silver

Saharan silver ants have silver hairs which act as heat shields in the desert climate. This allows them to forage during the hottest time of day. The silver hairs cool the ant in two primary ways. The triangular shape of the hairs is highly effective to deflect the sunlight, minimising the amount of heat absorption.

The hairs also maximize the thermal emissivity, allowing it to offload heat efficiently from the body. The cooling effect can reduce the ant's body temperature by 5 to 10 degrees Celsius.
