The Andrew Lloyd Webber musical "Song and Dance" first opened on Broadway in 1985. The show's first act is all in song, while the second act is all in dance. Together they tell a nice love story. The opening night cast included Bernadette Peters, who won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. It ran for 474 performances.

The song "Capped Teeth and Caesar Salad" was sung in the show by Peters' character, Emma. Emma is a British woman who had moved to America with hopes of being a hat designer.
2. One Brick at a Time

Answer: Barnum

"Barnum" tells the story of P.T. Barnum, of circus fame. The show opened on Broadway in 1980 and starred Jim Dale as Phineas Taylor (P.T.) Barnum and Glen Close as Chairy Barnum, his wife. Jim Dale won a Tony Award for Best Actor in a musical. The show also won a Tony for Best Scenic Design (David Mitchell) and Best Costume Design (Theoni V. Aldredge).

"One Brick at a Time" is sung in Act I by Barnum, Chairy, and the Bricklayers when Barnum makes a museum of his attractions. He is ready to give up and Chairy is trying to urge him to continue.

"The Phantom of the Opera" opened on Broadway in 1988 in the Majestic Theatre. The opening cast included Michael Crawford as the Phantom and Sarah Brightman as Christine Daae. They were also in the original West End production, which opened in 1986. On Broadway, Crawford played the Phantom for over three years with 1300 performances. The show has run over 13,000 performances.

The Phantom sings "Music of the Night" in Act I to Christine when he has her in his secret underground lair.

Answer: Sunday in the Park with George

"Sunday in the Park with George" opened on Broadway in 1984 and ran for 604 performances. It starred Mandy Patinkin as George and Bernadette Peters as Dot. Peters also played Marie. The show won a Tony Award for Best Scenic Design (Tony Straiges) and also for Best Lighting Design (Richard Nelson).

Marie sings the song "Children and Art" to George in Act II. She is concerned about what they will leave that people will remember when they are gone.
5. I Remember It Well

Answer: Gigi

"Gigi" opened on Broadway in 1973 and ran for 103 performances. The original cast included Alfred Drake as Honoré Lachailles, Maria Karnilova as Inez "Mamita" Alverez, Agnes Moorehead as Aunt Alicia, Karin Wolfe as Gigi, and George Gaynes as Maitre Du Fresne. The show won a Tony Award for Best Original Score (Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe).

"I Remember It Well" is a song in the first act by Honoré and Mamita. During the song Honoré is telling Mamita all the times he remembers with her, only he keeps mixing these memories with times he had with others.

"Anyone Can Whistle" opened on Broadway in 1964 and starred Angela Lansbury in her Broadway musical debut. It ran for nine performances.

"Me and My Town" was song in the first act by Cora (Lansbury). She is carried in by her backup singers, and sings how she can accept anything except for not being popular.
7. Cockeyed Optimist

Answer: South Pacific

"South Pacific" opened on Broadway in 1949 and ran for 1,925 performances. It starred Mary Martin and Ezio Pinza. The show won all ten Tony Awards it was nominated for, which included Best Musical, Best Actor in a Musical (Pinza), and Best Actress in a Musical (Martin).

"Cockeyed Optimist" is song in act one by Ensign Nellie Forbush (Martin). Nellie is in love with Emile (Pinza) and tells him how everyone calls her "A Cockeyed Optimist" in the beginning of the first act.
8. The Blame

Answer: Titanic

"Titanic" opened on Broadway in 1997 and ran for 804 performances. It starred Michael Cerveris, John Cunningham, and David Garrison. It won all five Tony Awards it was nominated for, including Best Musical, Best Original Musical Score (Maury Yeston), and Best Scenic Design (Stewart Laing).

"The Blame" is sung in the second act by Smith (Cunningham), Andrews (Cerveris), and Ismay (Garrison). Knowing the ship is going down, they are arguing over who is to blame for this happening.
9. Banjos (sometimes called "The Banjo")

Answer: Meet Me in St. Louis

"Meet Me in St. Louis" opened on Broadway in 1989 and starred Donna Kane, Courtney Peldon, and Michael O'Steen. It ran for 252 performances. The Broadway musical was based on the movie musical from 1944, starring Judy Garland as Esther Smith.

"Banjos" is sung by Lon Smith (O'Steen) during the ball scene. Lon is showing everyone a dance he learned while away at Princeton University.
10. Children Will Listen

Answer: Into the Woods

"Into the Woods" opened on Broadway in 1987 and ran for 765 performances. It starred Bernadette Peters, Chip Zien, and Joanna Gleason. It won three of the ten Tony Awards it was nominated for: Best Book of a Musical (James Lapine), Best Original Score (Stephen Sondheim), and Best Actress in a Musical (Joanna Gleason).

"Children Will Listen" is sung by the Witch (Peters) with the rest of the cast at the end of act two. It is the final number of the show.
