Have you ever ridden on a bus and wondered if it could fly? The writers of 'Speed' did! And the answer is a resounding yes! Here, Keanu Reeves plays LAPD officer Jack Traven, who finds himself stuck in a rolling death-coach with a bomb. If the bus drops below 50 mph, things go boom.

Everybody's commute gets a whole lot more complicated, and Sandra Bullock dutifully steps in as Jack's love interest and the unexpected hero driving the bus. Meanwhile, Dennis Hopper plays the villainous bomber to perfection.

What a great plan! Robin Williams performs some serious comedic gymnastics in 'Mrs. Doubtfire' as a doting father looking to spend more time with his kids. After Sally Field divorces him for a birthday-party mobile petting-zoo malfunction (we've all been there), Robin Williams turns his frown upside-down by doing what any red-blooded American father would do: donning a wig, stretching some latex over his face, and impersonating an elderly British woman named Euphegenia Doubtfire. What could go wrong?

In 1998 Guy Ritchie announced to the world that crime movies can be chaotic, bloody, funny, and stylish all at once... cheerfully following in the footsteps of Quentin Tarantino who'd made a similar announcement across the pond some years prior.

The story follows four friends who think they've got a fool-proof plan to win big in a card game, only to end up owing a very dangerous man a very large sum of money.

From there, the plot bounces from various gangs, associations, and bystanders all somehow brought together in one explosive scene. And Sting plays the bar owner, so what's not to like?

Answer: Stargate

You know the story. Ancient history is cool. But ancient history with aliens? Perfection.

The film centers on a mysterious ring-shaped device that opens a wormhole to another planet, where a powerful being named Ra has been pretending to be an Egyptian god. It made a lot of sense in the '90s. Trust me.

Kurt Russell is the no-nonsense military guy, and James Spader is the brainy linguist who cracks the code. And if you think we're missing an archetype or two, don't worry, we've got the villain and the love interest covered as well. The movie mixes sci-fi with ancient mythology in a way that shouldn't quite work, but somehow kinda does. Or at least did in the 1990s.

It ended up launching a whole franchise of TV shows, because once you open a portal to another planet, it's really very hard to stop.

Answer: Se7en

'Se7en' is dark, gritty, bleak, and leaves us with one of the greatest movie moments of the decade. Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman play two detectives chasing a serial killer who designs his murders around the seven deadly sins. It's in the name, see? The killer is not subtle at all, but he's very effective.

David Fincher directs a storm cloud building and building until it finally breaks in the final moments of the film. And when it does break... well, Christmas has never been the same in my family. 'Come on, what's in the BOX?'

Mike Myers and Dana Carvey are Wayne and Garth, two rock-obsessed dorks who host a public-access show from Wayne's parents' house, where the budget is low, but the vibes are most assuredly excellent. The movie is a spin-off from the 'Saturday Night Live' sketches and somehow works much better than most movies described with those words.

It's also responsible for permanently attaching 'Bohemian Rhapsody' to a car full of dudes singing at maximum volume.
