Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. James Bond

Answer: Sean Connery

"From Russia with Love" was directed by Terence Young and starred Sean Connery in his second appearance as James Bond. The plot of the film revolves around SPECTRE's attempt to avenge the death of their agent Dr. No in the previous film of the series that was named after him.

The organisation holds Bond personally responsible for Dr. No's demise and set about arranging a cleverly thought out plan that involves stealing a Lektor cryptography machine from the Soviet consulate in Istanbul and framing Bond for the crime in the process.
2. Donald "Red" Grant

Answer: Robert Shaw

Englishman Grant was a convicted murderer who escaped from Dartmoor Prison and whilst on the run was recruited by SPECTRE and sent to their training facility on SPECTRE Island to be trained as an agent and assassin. He is personally selected by Rosa Klebb for the revenge mission.

Robert Shaw started his acting career in the theatre industry before progressing into films. Some of his most famous roles were as King Henry VIII in the 1966 film "A Man for All Seasons", which earned him nominations for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. In 1973 he played crime boss Doyle Lonnegan in "The Sting" and then two years later in the role that he is probably best known for, the shark hunter Quint in "Jaws".

In 1978 aged 51 Shaw suffered a fatal heart attack whilst driving near his home in County Mayo, Ireland.

Klebb was responsible for selecting Grant and Romanova for the mission against Bond. The character was also memorable for the shoes she wore as one of them contained a poison tipped blade that caused instant death to anyone who was spiked by it.

Lotte Lenya was an Austrian singer and actress born in Vienna in 1898. In 1935 Lenya and her husband, the German-Jewish composer Kurt Weill, moved to New York to escape the rise of Nazism in Germany.
