Answer: Quests of Yore

We learn from Barley that players of 'Quests of Yore' participate in campaigns to locations such as the 'Swamp of Despair'. He claims that it isn't just a board game though, but is instead a "historically based role-playing scenario".

Following the film, board game publisher 'The Op' created and published a physical version of the 'Quests of Yore' so you can now own your own copy! All of the incorrect options are also published board games.

Answer: Police Officer

Colt Bronco is a centaur police officer who has a hostile relationship with Barley because the latter frequently tries to prevent some of the city's features (such as an old fountain opposite the high school) from being torn down. Throughout the film he, like Laurel, is trying to track down Ian and Barley although he's intending to escort them home rather than support them on their quest.

One of his favourite phrases is "Working hard, or hardly working?"

Answer: Excited

Despite Barley being the one who has invested much of his time and effort into learning about the magical history of their land and trying to ensure this past isn't forgotten, when he tries to cast a visitation spell to bring their dad back for a day, he fails.

However when Ian tries later in the day, the spell (partially) succeeds. Rather than being envious or disappointed that Ian has the gift and not he, Barley expresses pure joy and excitement that his little brother has the ability to cast magic within him.

Answer: Raven

The Manticore's Tavern has become a family-friendly restaurant over the years with arcade games, karaoke, and children's birthday parties. Although initially this seems like a setback to the brothers' quest, after the original map burns in a fire, Barley realises that one of the children's activity sheets still provides the clue they need. Helpfully a child named Kayla has already solved the anagram puzzle which reads RAVENSPOINT.

There are always six ravens housed at the Tower of London because Charles II was given a prophecy that his reign along with the Tower itself would fall should the ravens ever leave the fortress.

Answer: Impersonates a medical professional

Upon reaching the Manticore's Tavern, Laurel is dismayed to see that it's ablaze and even more so when she learns that the Manticore forgot to tell her sons about a curse protecting the gem they seek. To help her escape police questioning, Laurel impersonates a medical professional and asks for some privacy to treat a wound on the Manticore's foot. Laurel then hides the escapee in the back seat of her car and flees the scene.

Answer: Sprites

Whilst at the gas station, Barley, Ian and their dad (Wilden) encounter a motorbike gang named the 'Pixie Dusters'. Although tiny, the pink sprites (with names like Dewdrop and Mustardseed) wreak havoc in the store and terrify its customers. After some close calls where tension is raised between the two groups, things come to a head when Wilden accidentally knocks over the gang's motorbikes.

This results in a chase sequence that puts Ian's limited driving skills to the test.

Answer: Dragon

Once Barley removes the gem, red smoke is seen pouring from the fountain opposite Ian's high school. The smoke rips off parts of the school's facade and uses this debris to assume the form of a dragon. The dragon has a magical core which is the centre of its power and it is this which must be destroyed, using the Manticore's sword in order to defeat the curse.

Answer: Swim in the ocean

As time goes by and the boys will have less and less time with their dad, we see Ian crossing things off this list until finally there's no time left to do any of them - something that Ian blames Barley for. As Ian reflects on his list during the final act, he realises that even though he's not done these things with his dad, he HAS had the opportunity to do them with his brother. It's this epiphany that results in the brothers' reconciliation.

Answer: A hug

Barley is able to briefly speak with his dad before the spell's power wears off and this gives him a chance to finally say goodbye. After helping Ian out of a pit, Barley shares what their dad had said and then gives him a hug, revealing that this was a request from their dad.

Answer: No

Barley's beloved purple van is named 'Guinevere' and has a Pegasus painted on its side. Although crucial in allowing Ian and Barley to travel to places like the Manticore's Tavern, the van is not shown to be particularly reliable with various parts falling off it throughout the film.

Whilst being pursued by police, Barley sacrifices Guinevere to help them escape and she ends up buried under a pile of rocks. The brothers are then left to continue their quest on foot.

Barley DOES have a new van at the end of the film though, which he has named 'Guinevere the Second'.
