Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This song was released by Pink on October 16, 2001, as the lead single from her second album, "Missundaztood". The song won the "Best Dance Video" in 2002. What is the name of the song?

Answer: Get the Party Started

One thing you probably don't know about this song is that originally it was offered to the "Queen Of Pop", Madonna for her future album "Music" which would be released in 2000. However, Madonna's team turned down the song which was then offered to Pink, which was accepted. The songwriter was the 4 Non Blondes lead singer Linda Perry.

On the charts, "Get the Party Started" topped the UK Hip Hop/R&B and US Dance Club Songs (Billboard).

Pink is seen in the video trying on several clothes as she gets ready to head out. When a friend arrives to pick her up, they nod along to the music as they drive. They get out of the car when the petrol runs out and steal two skateboards from a couple of boys. When they go to the club, they are turned away, so they use scaffolding to climb to the top of the building to get inside. Once inside, Pink changes her clothes and begins to party; at the end, she dances with two other dancers, Kevin Federline and Georvohn Lambert.

The music video showcases Williams attempting to captivate a female DJ by undressing completely, ultimately leading to the removal of his skin and muscles, resulting in a skeletal appearance. The song was awarded British Single of the Year, while the video received the accolade for British Video of the Year at the 2001 Brit Awards.

Back in the day, the song achieved significant success for Haddaway, reaching the top of the charts in more than ten countries and appearing in the top ten of several others. His subsequent song, "Life", released in the same year as his debut, did reach the top charts in four countries but did not match the success of his initial hit.

From 1993 to 2026, Haddaway has released six albums. "Haddaway" and "The Drive" (1995) are the only two albums to chart.

The song is celebrated for its captivating, energetic rhythm, funky bassline, and uplifting lyrics. It reached the pinnacle in the charts, transforming into a worldwide anthem for weddings, parties, and happy events.
