Lots of Taylor Swift's color-themed song titles come from her later works. Three are from the 2020 folk-inspired album "Evermore" and two are from the 2022 album "Midnights", which uses lots of synths and electronic instruments.
Perhaps her most obvious color song is the title song from "Red", one of her early albums. The 2012 album is largely country music and was re-recorded in 2021 so she could have ownership of a recording of the tracks. The color red is a theme throughout the album's artwork and lyrics. In one of the most popular songs, "All Too Well", she references red lights, cheeks turning red and a scarf. The scarf, depicted as red in a short film themed around the song's extended ten-minute version, is a source of much fan speculation.
The unreleased song "Baby Blue" is from a 2003 demo. It is about a girl who grows up loving the color blue, then falling in love and becoming a parent. Similarly, "Dark Blue Tennessee" is a 2004 demo that was written for Swift's first album (self-titled) and then re-written for "Fearless" but eventually cut from both.
The wrong answers were: "Silver Spoon" (Lily Allen), "Back to Black" (Amy Winehouse), "Golden" (Harry Styles), "Blue Jeans" (Lana Del Rey), "Rust" (Echo and the Bunnymen), "Red Red Wine" (UB40), "ORANGE SODA" (Baby Keem) and "Blue". Lots of artists have named their songs "Blue", such as Billie Eilish in 2024. In other color-related song facts, Taylor Swift has covered "White Christmas", the iconic 1942 song written by Irving Berlin.
