Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which band had Chuck Panozzo as a member along with his brother?

Answer: Styx

Styx was a band that brought us arena rock, based on straight-forward riffs and somewhat catchy lyrics. They also did some sentimental songs, which was not really to the liking of hard rock fans. Chuck Panozzo played bass, his brother John played drums.
2. Another musical brother pair: Toy and Tommy Caldwell. Which band did they form with singer Doug Gray?

Answer: Marshall Tucker Band

The Marshall Tucker Band was mainly about country rock combined with a lot of jamming. Toy Caldwell played guitar in a rather bluesy style. Tommy Caldwell was a rather unexceptional bass player.
3. Jorma Kaukonen brought a rather psychedelic sound to his guitar and which band?

Answer: Jefferson Airplane

Jorma Kaukonen was the guitarist and most of the psychedelic sound of Jefferson Airplane. After he left the remaining band had to be renamed to Jefferson Starship and their sound changed tremendously.
4. In 1984, Rick Allen lost an arm, but he proved nothing can stop rock and roll. In which of these bands did he continue to play anyway?

Answer: Def Leppard

He is often referred to as the Thunder God.
5. Joe Lynn Turner has been in several bands over the years. He was the singer of one of these, but which one?

Answer: Deep Purple

He only recorded one album with them and was fired afterwards because the audience didn't like the idea of having Ian Gillan replaced.
6. Peter Criss is a drummer and also a (sometimes) vocalist for which of these bands?

Answer: KISS

KISS was one of the big players in the glam rock scene, for what's it worth.
7. Steven Adler is yet another drummer, he was a member of one of the following from 1985 to 1990.

Answer: Guns N Roses

The underrated drummer of Guns N Roses, who was the balance between singing/screeching by Axl Rose and the heavy guitar work of Slash and Izzy Stradlin.
8. Steve Harris is a bass guitarist, but which band does he belong to?

Answer: Iron Maiden

Iron Maiden had been said to be the first true metal band, though that honor could easily go to Black Sabbath or even Blue Cheer.
9. Dave Navarro is most famous for his work with Jane's Addiction, but which of these bands did he briefly join for one album?

Answer: Red Hot Chili Peppers

Navarro replaced John Frusciante for a while, who was suffering too much from a hard drug habit.

Answer: Wolfmother

Wolfmother tries to go back to the classic rock era and does a decent job of it.
