I was on FunTrivia when a bucket started talking to me. It advised me that if it sounds like a bucket, looks like bucket or walks like a bucket...it must be a bucket. These songs contain items that sound like a bucket.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Buckets of Rain" appeared on Bob Dylan's 1975 album "Blood on the Tracks" but earlier, in 1970, he recorded which song, with a bucket-like implement in its title, for his "Self Portrait" album?

Answer: Copper Kettle

"Self Portrait" is a double album full of cover songs that received predominantly negative reviews from the critics. "Copper Kettle", however, was hailed as one of the few shining lights on the record. The song was written in 1946 by Alfred Frank Beddoe and it pays homage to the rebellion against the Whiskey Tax imposed by the US Government in 1791.
2. "Bucket T" is a song written and recorded by Jan and Dean in 1966 but which British band, featuring Keith Moon on lead vocals, released a cover version of the track in the same year?

Answer: The Who

The song was part of The Who's 1966 EP (extended play) called "Ready, Steady, Who" and the recording represents one of the rare occasions that Moon took on the lead vocals for the band. This was a highlight for Moon as he was both a lover of the surf sound and the music of Jan and Dean. For Jan and Dean, this represented their last single release before Jan's car accident in which he suffered serious head injuries and was left partially paralysed.
3. The Alan Parsons' Project recorded a song called "The Cask of Amontillado" on their 1976 album "Tales of Mystery and Imagination". The album was an attempt to retell horror stories and poetry of which US author, who was part of America's Romantic Movement?

Answer: Edgar Allan Poe

The Alan Parsons' Project is made up of Eric Woolfson and Alan Parsons. "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" was their first album and the attempt to retell Poe's tales could best be described as avant-garde and ambitious. It met with lukewarm response from the critics. The name of the album is also the name of a collection of Poe's works that was published in 1908. "The Cask of Amontillado" is a short story that Poe published in 1864 and it tells a tale of revenge.
4. Sara Evans reached number one on Billboard's Hot Country charts in 2004 with which song that tells the story of a girl running away with her boyfriend "leaving (WHAT) in the bucket and the clothes on the line"?

Answer: Suds

"Suds in the Bucket" was the third single released by Sara from her fourth album "Restless". The track's number one position became the third time Sara would reach the coveted top spot on Billboard's Hot Country chart. It made it as high as number 33 on Billboard's Hot 100.
5. Another term for the stock market is the title of which track that appears on an album of live recordings by British band, The Libertines, called "For Pete's Sake"? (Hint: Where else would you buy a bucket?)

Answer: Bucket Shop

The Libertines formed in 1997 and was built around the songwriting talents of Carl Barat and Pete Doherty. They dissolved after just two studio albums amid Doherty's growing dependence on drugs.
"For Pete's Sake" is a collection of live recordings that were put together by the band between 1999 and 2004 and is made up of a number of rare tracks such as "Bucket Shop", which was never officially released by the band, and a great cover of the Small Faces' song "Lazy Sunday".
6. Making Rolling Stones magazine's list of "20 Most Annoying Songs" is which bucket embedded song that contains the following lyric: "I get knocked down, but I get up again You're never gonna keep me down"?

Answer: Tubthumping

The song was released by Chumbawamba, an anarcho-punk band from Burnley in England, in 1977. It peaked at number two on the UK charts and number six on Billboard's Hot 100. The band turned down a $1.5 million offer from Nike to use it in a World Cup advertisement.
7. The song "Neighbourhood #4 (7 Kettles)" appears on the debut album "Funeral" (2004) for which Canadian band?

Answer: Arcade Fire

"Funeral" was received with a wave of positive reviews and was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2005 for "Best Alternative Music Album". "Neighbourhood #4" completes a set of four themed songs on the album. This one is a rather sombre affair that appears to point toward a man's search for some form of salvation.
8. Tool's second single from their album "10,000 Days" earned the band a Grammy nomination. What is the title of this track that can also be seen as a slang term for cannabis?

Answer: The Pot

The title of this song relates to hypocrisy, as in 'the pot calling the kettle black' and the band embroiders this with the cannabis aspect using the words high and stoned in conjunction with kangaroo court to build images of the darker side of capital punishment. The song was released in 2006 and became Tool's first number one single on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
9. "Yankee, Hotel, Foxtrot" (2002) featured that great bucket song "Pot, Kettle, Black" and was the fourth studio album for which Chicago band that also achieved acclaim for their work with Billy Bragg on the "Mermaid Avenue" recordings?

Answer: Wilco

Well perhaps "Pot, Kettle, Black" is another bucket song and the word great may be a bit of a misnomer. However, it did form part of an album that received outstanding reviews. Rolling Stone magazine ranked it number three in their "100 Best Albums of the Decade" list and Tom Moon incorporated it into his "1000 Recordings to Hear Before You Die".
The Mermaid Avenue project resulted in two albums, "Mermaid Avenue" (1998) and "Mermaid Avenue II" (2000) in which music was written and put to previously unheard lyrics of American folk singer Woodie Guthrie.
10. "Hell in a Bucket" appeared in 1987 as a track on the twelfth studio album for which band affectionately known as "The Dead"?

Answer: The Grateful Dead

The album, "In the Dark", was released in July of 1987 and would become the "Dead's" highest charting album on the US charts (The Billboard 200), peaking at number six. "Hell in a Bucket" was not released as a single but it did receive significant airplay on album orientated radio stations.
