Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Books authored by Luke

Luke is credited with writing two books of the New Testament. Saint Luke is also known as Luke the Evangelist to distinguish him from others with the same name. In the tradition of the Church, the title of Evangelist is given to the four authors of the gospels in the New Testament. Apart from the Gospel of Luke, Luke also authored the Book of Acts which follows the four gospels and traces the formation of the early church.
2. Horsemen of the Apocalypse

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are mentioned in the Book of Revelation. This is the last book of the New Testament and was written by John on the Greek island of Patmos. Some Christians consider him to be the apostle John who also wrote one of the gospels. The Four Horsemen are said to bring death, famine, war, and conquest in the last days of the world.
3. Days of Creation

The Bible begins with the story of creation in the book of Genesis. Over the course of six days, God created the world and all that is in it. The narrative describes how God created different things on different days, ending with the creation of Adam, the first man, and Eve, the first woman to be his companion and helpmate. On the seventh day, He rested, thus completing the first week.

The seventh day was therefore celebrated as Sabbath, a day set aside from work to honour God.
4. Deadly Sins

The seven deadly sins are not explicitly noted as such in the Bible. They originated amongst Christian hermits called the Desert Monks who lived in Egypt and from there made their way into the Western Christian tradition. Each of the sins also has a corresponding virtue - pride (humility), greed (charity), sloth (diligence), wrath (forgiveness), envy (kindness), gluttony (temperance), and lust (chastity).
5. People aboard Noah's ark

The story of Noah is found in the Biblical book of Genesis. The people of the world had forsaken God and turned to evil, bringing God's wrath over the world. Noah was found to be the only righteous man and was instructed by God to build a large ark to save his family and various animals and birds. Once Noah and his family were aboard the ark and shut the great door, God sent rain down for forty days and nights, flooding the world and wiping out all mankind.

There were only eight people who survived this destruction - Noah, his wife, their three sons and their wives.
6. Plagues inflicted on Egypt

The Israelites were held in captivity by the Egyptians for many years before God heard their cries and appointed Moses to lead them to freedom. The Pharaoh, however, was not easily convinced. God then sent ten plagues to afflict the Egyptians to compel them to let the Israelites leave.

The first plague was in the form of all the water in the rivers turning to blood. These increased in severity, culminating in the tenth plague, the death of the firstborn child in every Egyptian household.
7. Tribes of Israel

The Twelve Tribes of Israel were based on the sons of the Biblical patriarch, Jacob. He had twelve sons born to him of four different women - his two wives, Leah and Rachel, and their handmaids, Bilhah and Zilpah. From the oldest to the youngest, his sons were Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, and Benjamin.
8. People at the Last Supper

Jesus knew His crucifixion and death was imminent and He would be betrayed by one of His close followers. He arranged to celebrate the Passover with His apostles before this occurred. This meal is known as the "Last Supper" in Christian tradition. It was here that Jesus humbled Himself to wash the feet of His disciples, including the one who would betray Him a few hours later. Jesus and His twelve apostles formed the thirteen participants at the Last Supper.

This is considered to be one of the reasons for the number 13 being considered unlucky.
9. Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross are also known as the Way of the Cross. As implied by the name, they depict events in the lead up to Jesus's crucifixion, focusing mainly on His last day in human form. There are 14 stations and these are most commonly observed during the period of Lent.

At each station, worshippers reflect on the event and pray. The first station is Jesus being condemned to death and the final one is His body being laid in the tomb.
10. Days Jesus fasted in the desert

Before Jesus began His earthly ministry, He was baptized by the prophet John in the Jordan River. He then spent forty days fasting and praying in the desert to prepare for His mission. At the end of this period, the devil tried to tempt Him but Jesus did not yield, responding to each attempt by quoting scripture. After the devil left Him, God sent His angels to minister to Jesus.
