Fulham F.C. began life in 1879 as Fulham St Andrew's Cricket & Football Club, by worshippers at St Andrew's Church in Star Road. The club changed their name to Fulham Football Club in 1888, and turned professional in 1898, making them the oldest professional club in London.

Fulham F.C. had a number of temporary home grounds before moving into Craven Cottage in 1896. A record crowd of 49,335 packed into the stadium in 1938 for a London derby against Millwall. The stadium sits right on the banks of the Thames, and the opening of the brand new Riverside Stand in 2025 gave the stadium a modern all-seater capacity of 27,782.

Fulham were playing in the second tier of English footbal in season 1974-75 but went on amazing run in the F.A Cup. They defeated Hull City, Nottingham Forest, Everton and Carlisle United before coming up against Birmingham City in the semi-finals. A 1-1 draw at Hillsborough, Sheffield, meant a replay at Maine Road, Manchester, which Fulham won 1-0. On 3rd May, 1975, they faced West Ham at Wembley in an all-London final, and it was Alan Taylor who scored both goals in a 2-0 win for the Hammers.
9. Fulham reached the final of the UEFA Europa League in season 2009-10, where they were defeated by which Spanish club?

A seventh-place finish in the 2008-09 Premier League was enough to secure a place in the Europa League of 2009-10 for Fulham. They had to survive two qualifying rounds to reach the competition-proper, and they did so, edging past FK Vetra of Lithuania and Russia's Amkar Perm.

In the group stage they finished second behind Italian giants Roma but ahead of FC Basel of Switzerland and Bulgarians CSKA Sofia. The knockout rounds saw Fulham eliminate Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine, Juventus of Italy and two German clubs, Wolfsburg and Hamburg.

The final, in Hamburg, went to extra-time before Atletico Madrid prevailed 2-1, Simon Davies being Fulham's goalscorer.
