1. Who directed this episode?

Answer: Don Weis

Don Weis directed 16 episodes of "M*A*S*H", primarily during the first six seasons. He directed many memorable and early episodes of the series, such as this one, "The Trial of Henry Blake," and "Crises". He passed away at age 78 in 2000.
2. Where is the Cowboy wounded?

Answer: right shoulder

Cowboy brings in a wounded soldier by helicopter. He is not revealed to be injured until he gets out of the chopper and collapses.
3. What personal problem does Cowboy have?

Answer: he receives a "Dear John" letter

Not much is revealed about the Cowboy's personal life except that he is married. He receives a letter from his wife hinting that she is tempted by another man. The Cowboy wants Henry to give him leave so he can return home and straighten things out, but Henry won't grant him leave. This initiates a series of mysterious attacks on Henry.
4. What actor played The Cowboy?

Answer: Billy Green Bush

Billy Green Bush (the stage name of William Warren Bush) appeared in many TV series, usually as offbeat and headstrong characters. Some of his credits are "Five Easy Pieces", "The Culpepper Cattle Co.", and "The Jericho Mile", to name just a few. He retired from acting in 2001.
5. What is the SECOND misfortune to happen to Henry when he is under attack?

Answer: a Jeep pulls down his tent

After Henry refuses to grant the Cowboy a leave of absence, mysterious attacks begin to plague him. It gets to the point that no one in camp wants to be in his vicinity. All these mishaps happen to Henry, but the tent incident is the second one.
6. What does the cook prepare as a treat for Henry?

Answer: pork chops

Of course, by this time, no one wants to be near Henry. When he sits at a table, the people there get up and move to another. Henry has to enjoy his meal alone.
7. Where is a bomb planted in Henry's office?

Answer: his chair

Henry decides to get out of camp for a while and is showing Frank where things are in the office. When he's done, Henry tosses a folder on the seat of his chair, which promptly explodes.
8. Where does the Cowboy live?

Answer: Reno, NV

While flying Henry out of camp in the helicopter, Cowboy reveals himself as the threat to Henry and tries to push him out. In the nick of time, a letter comes for the Cowboy and Hawkeye reads it to him over the radio. It causes a few moments of concern when the return address is Reno, a city known as "The Divorce Capitol of the World". However, the Cowboy says that is his actual address.
9. What is The Cowboy's first name?

Answer: John

As Hawkeye reads further into the letter, The Cowboy's wife uses the phrase "Dear John", then 'Dear, dear, John". A "Dear John" letter is a well-know phrase meaning a letter sent to a soldier serving away from his hometown which suggests a break-up or ending a relationship. This causes further anxiety, but it's revealed that John is the Cowboy's actual first name.
10. In the letter, does it indicate that The Cowboy's wife was faithful?

Answer: yes

She says she was very tempted, but overcame it because she knew she already had the most wonderful man in the world. The Cowboy's mind is finally at peace and he stops threatening Henry.
