Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is Mr. Rothwell's punishment?

Answer: He has to teach high school math forever

Mr. Rothwell, played by Ed Begley Jr., is a mean math teacher. When she merely asks a question in class, he makes a snarky comment about her, then announces that there will be a test the next day and he tells everybody to blame Sabrina for it. On the day of the test, a girl named Emma is late for class and she is locked out of the class and given an F. It is later revealed that Emma was late because she was helping out a kid in a wheelchair (Sabrina considers that to be a good reason to be late). Sabrina accidentally drops her pencil, but Mr. Rothwell thinks she did it on purpose so she'd have an excuse to lean over and look at her neighbor's paper. He makes her take the test at his desk. Sabrina cannot concentrate and she fails the test. She shows her test to her aunts and tells them about Mr. Rothwell. Hilda goes into class to talk to him, but he says something that makes her angry. Then, Zelda goes in to talk to him and he makes her angry, too. The three of them use their cauldron to cast a revenge spell on him.

The next day, he gets a speeding ticket. Sabrina is upset that's all he got, but then Zelda points out that he'll contest it in court and he'll get his justice there. In court, just before Mr. Rothwell is tried, a lenient judge leaves and he is replaced with a judge from the witches council. The judge tells Mr. Rothwell that he is not only accused of speeding but he is also accused of being mean to students, breaking an "existential code." A few of his former students come in to testify against him. He admits that he is unfair because life is unfair and he's trying to help his students get used to it. The judge asks him if he wants to teach high school math forever and he says that he is only doing it until he has enough money to start a software company. The judge finds him guilty and sentences him to the worst fate that he can think of, having to teach high school math forever.
2. In "Sabrina Through the Looking Glass," what does Sabrina do to Libby?

Answer: Turn her into a goat

Sabrina gets a wart on her head and hides it with a baseball cap. She also drops her science project on the floor and breaks it on the day she and Harvey had to present it. These things cause her to be in a bad mood when she goes to school. They also cause her to ignore the problem that Jenny was having (she was considering cutting her hair). Sabrina pretends to listen to Jenny and she said "yes" without realizing what she was saying "yes" to.

Harvey brings a monkey puppet to class for the presentation and holds it out and speaks in an odd voice, pretending that the puppet is a real monkey who is giving the class first-hand information about life in the rainforest. The class mocks Harvey and Sabrina for this, but Mr. Pool loves it and gives them an A. Harvey is happy about the good grade, but Sabrina is unhappy that the classmates mocked them for the presentation.

In the cafeteria, Libby takes Sabrina's cap without permission and then she sees Sabrina's wart. Sabrina runs out of the cafeteria and casts a spell, which causes a blizzard. Libby runs out after her and taunts her. That's when Sabrina turns her into a goat.

When Sabrina gets home, she goes to her room. On her way there, Hilda tells her that flan will cheer anyone up. When she gets in the room, she looks in the mirror. Her reflection convinces her to go inside the mirror. Sabrina did that and entered the mirror world, where her house is the inverse of her regular house and everybody is sad. Once she gets there, she cannot return to her own world. Brady Anderson appears as her guide. He tells her that she is stuck in a bad mood and could not return to the real world until she undid all the damage that she caused.

Sabrina saw Jenny being angry about her short hair. Sabrina reminds Jenny that her hair will grow back. She then sees Harvey is sad because the class mocked him and Sabrina for their presentation. She reminds him that they got an A, so all is good. She then turns the goat back into Libby. Then she learned that she caused more damage than she thought. Her snowstorm caused Mr. Pool to be in a car accident and caused problems for everyone at school. She introduces Mr. Pool, an avid baseball fan, to Brady Anderson which cheers him up, and then she makes a giant flan for everyone else. This gets her out of her bad mood and she can go home. In the real world, Hilda and Zelda turned the goat back into Libby, Jenny didn't cut her hair, Harvey is happy with the presentation, Mr. Pool's car is not destroyed and everyone is fine. Sabrina is sad that the real world went on just fine without her.
3. In "Hilda and Zelda, the Teenage Years," what band did most of the major characters meet?

Answer: Violent Femmes

Harvey decides to take advantage of a chance to meet the Violent Femmes in a music store where they will be signing things. Despite Libby's objections, Harvey invites any fan of the Violent Femmes to go with him in his car. The people who go with him are Sabrina, Libby, and Gordie. Two other people also go with him.

Hilda and Zelda initially do not allow Sabrina to do this because there will be no adults with them. Then, they get the idea to turn themselves into teenagers, so they can supervise them while none of them except Sabrina know that they are being supervised. Sabrina names their teenage selves "Hillary and Zellery." Sabrina tells her friends that these are her cousins.

Hillary and Zellery try to supervise them at times, but they rarely listen to them. Actually, Hillary and Zellery are the ones who get in the most trouble. Hillary steals a cop's badge and gets arrested. Sabrina has to convince her to give the badge back so she can go free. Gordie falls in love with Zellery because he is fascinated by her brain and her unusual name. She is oblivious to this. Sabrina had to tell her what was going on. Of course, he is too young for Zellery to legally get romantically involved with him, so she has to break up with him.

When they finally meet the band, Gordon Gano refuses to look at Libby. Then Zeller casts a 30-minut infatuation spell which makes him obsessed with Libby. The band uses instruments in the store and unexpectedly plays "Please Do Not Go" for Libby while the others dance. When the song is over, he invites her to their hotel room and tells her she can invite anyone she wants. She invites everyone except Hillary and Zellery. This causes Sabrina to refuse to go, which causes Harvey to refuse to go. So, only Libby and Gordie go to the hotel.

At home, Hillary and Zellery turn themselves back into Hilda and Zelda, apologize for their behavior, and thank Sabrina for saving them when they were in trouble and for not leaving them when she was invited to the hotel and they weren't. To reward Sabrina for all of this, they give a vacuum cleaner, which Sabrina can fly. Hilda says that witches used to fly brooms, but vacuum cleaners are better. At the end of the episode, Sabrina enjoys her first vacuum cleaner ride.

At the hotel, the infatuation spell wears off. Libby is stunned to learn that the Violent Femmes watch cartoons in the hotel, which she thought were for losers. She's also sad that Gordon Gano no longer wants to play songs for her. She is appalled when they tell Gordie that he is cool (he loves the cartoon and knows a lot about it). She thinks she is going crazy when she looks out the window to see Sabrina flying a vacuum cleaner.
4. The first time that Sabrina and Harvey kiss, what happens?

Answer: Harvey turns into a frog

If a witch kisses a mortal, he will turn into a frog. If a half-witch kisses a mortal, there's a 50% chance that he turns into a frog. Despite Salem's best efforts to stop them and Hilda and Zelda telling her what would happen, Sabrina eventually kisses Harvey and he turns into a frog. To turn the frog back into Harvey, she has to go to the Other Realm and take the Test of True Love. She passes the test with flying colors, Harvey turns back into a human, and from then on, she can kiss him whenever she wants and nothing bad will happen.

Great Aunt Irma tortured Harvey when he found out that Sabrina was a witch, not when she kissed him. The Republic of Infinite Horror is where Lucy (Mr. Kraft's ex-wife) lives. Sabrina turned a lot of objects into pineapples, but the only person she turned into a pineapple was Libby. Harvey was never a pineapple.
5. In "Sweet Charity," who does Sabrina turn herself into?

Answer: Libby

Jenny starts an Adopt-a-Grandparent program, but no one except Sabrina and Harvey sign up for it. Harvey says that it would have been more effective if a popular kid showed up at the senior center. Sabrina hides in a phone booth and turns herself into Libby. When she returns to the rec room, the photographer takes a picture of the three of them. She says "Old people are the coolest" and gives him permission to quote her.

The next day, the real Libby is angered to see the school newspaper has a photo of her at the senior center and an article quoting her as saying "Old people are the coolest," but no one believes her when she says she was framed. The next day, Libby's friends show up at the senior center just because they thought Libby would be there. Just as they see that she is not there and decide to go home, Sabrina turns herself into Libby again and gets them to stay. A few seconds later, the real Libby also shows up. No one except Sabrina ever notices that two Libbys are there. But the comedy and confusion caused by people seeing the real Libby and the fake Libby alternately is one of the things that makes this show great.

Libby ends up bonding with Sabrina's adopted grandparent, which makes Sabrina mad because she adopted her first. The grandparent bonds with the kids by showing photos of celebrities that she knows. Sabrina tells Libby that the grandparent does not know any of these people and that the photos were just cutouts from magazines. That afternoon, Libby has an angry conversation with who she thinks is the grandmother. The "grandmother" admits that she had been lying all along. After Libby storms out, it is revealed that this "grandmother" was actually Sabrina. Sabrina bonds with the real grandmother again, who really does know these celebrities.
6. Who wins the cat show?

Answer: Sabrina

Sabrina and Salem enter a cat show to win $500 (this is when Sabrina learns that Salem's last name is Saberhagen). At the show, they find out that one contestant, who has a lot of ribbons, is blackmailing the judge, threatening to reveal a big secret about him unless her cat wins. Sabrina breaks into the judge's office and finds information that reveals the truth, but when she hears him coming, she turns herself into a cat to avoid being detected. The judge comments on how beautiful she is and puts her in a cage in the room with the other cats.

On the days of the judging, the judge removes his toupee to reveal his secret (that he is bald) and decides to pick the winner that he wants to pick. He starts to announce that Salem will be the winner, but then he remembers a beautiful blonde cat that he had seen. That cat was not in sight because Sabrina had turned herself back into a human at the time, but when she hears the judge say this, she turns herself back into the cat. Zelda presents her as if she were her cat and she wins the prize. Back at home, she gives the ribbon to Salem and promises to pay his credit card debt.
7. Who is Sabrina's dad's new girlfriend?

Answer: Gail

Sabrina's father gets a new girlfriend, a witch/lawyer named Gail. This makes Sabrina unhappy because he wants her to get back together with her mom, and she treats Gail badly. To make matters worse, He and Gail get into an argument because she wants to get married and he doesn't. This causes Gail to leave. Sabrina gets over her feelings and convinces them to reconcile.
8. What time did Harvey and Sabrina first meet?

Answer: 12:36 PM

In "As Westbridge Turns," Harvey gives Sabrina a bracelet which on one side says "Harvey dig Sabrina" and on the other side says "12:36," the time that they first met in the Pilot. Sabrina opens a can of worms to make her life more exciting, which causes a lot of bad things to happen. There is suddenly a wasp's nest in the school and Libby gets stung by wasps. Then, a ladder falls on Harvey's head. When they end up in the nurse's office together, Harvey gets amnesia. Libby uses this to her advantage and tells him that she is his girlfriend and that they agreed to kiss at the fashion show. Libby also steals Mr. Pool's ring, which he was going to give to his girlfriend, Nurse Nancy, and propose to her. Libby hides the ring in Sabrina's bag.

At first, things go exactly the way Libby wants. Harvey accompanies her to the fashion show and Sabrina gets in trouble with the police because she is accused of stealing Mr. Pool's ring. Sabrina finds the bracelet with the "12:36" inscription which proves her story true and lets her off the hook. She then goes to the fashion show and shows the other side of the bracelet (the side that says "Harvey dig Sabrina") to Harvey. This reminds him that Sabrina is his real girlfriend. In the end, Sabrina gets Harvey back and Libby not only loses him, but she gets ejected from the fashion show because of her behavior. The downside to the ending is that Nurse Nancy breaks up with Mr. Pool and marries a one-eyed janitor.
9. In "The Great Mistake," who wears a kilt?

Answer: Mr. Pool

He wears this because it is Scottish Pride Day. He also dances a Scottish dance in class. Then, Principal Larue walks in and tells him to change his clothes and stop dancing.

Sabrina secretly buys a tomorrow ball from a salesman, ignoring Zelda's warning that it was not going to work. It tells her that she will get an A- on her project, but she gets a C. When she tells her aunts, Zelda grounds her and forbids her from going to the Smashing Pumpkins' concert. On Salem's advice, she sneaks out by flying out the window on her vacuum cleaner, but then she gets pulled over and taken home by a witch cop (for flying with a full bag and dropping a lot of dust on the town). This causes her to feel so guilty that she shrinks. Her aunts spend the rest of the episode telling her about the mistakes they made in an attempt to cheer her up. The thing that works is when they tell her that taking her in and raising her as their own child was the best decision they ever made and they never regretted it. Then, she gets large again. She feels better even though she's still grounded.
10. In "The Crucible," who is the only person on the field trip that believes that Sabrina is a witch?

Answer: Libby

The show takes place in Massachusetts, so this episode has a class field trip to Salem as an experiment to teach the kids about the Salem Witch Trials. The kids are each given a card. The teacher says that most of the cards say "townsperson," but one or more of them might say "witch" and it is the kids' job to figure out who the witches are. Anyone accused of being a witch will have to defend herself in court and, if convicted, will have to spend the rest of the field trip in the stocks.

Jenny befriends a boy whom Libby has a crush on, so Libby accuses her of being a witch. She refuses to tell the court what they want to hear about the conversation, but then Sabrina steps in to defend her. Then, Sabrina is accused of being a witch. Sabrina calls her aunts to take her home, but they make her stay because this field trip will teach her a lesson. The next day, she confesses to being a witch, but almost no one believes her and Harvey even throws water at her (to prove that she won't melt like the witch in "The Wizard of Oz") to prove that she isn't a witch. The only person who believes that Sabrina is a witch is Libby. Sabrina messes with Libby's mind by casting spells on Libby that only Libby can see (such as making Libby freeze and putting a monkey on her shoulder that only she can see).

In the end, Sabrina and Jenny are acquitted and Libby is convicted of casting false accusations against them. Libby has to spend the rest of the field trip in the stocks. As much as she hates that, she is even more humiliated when Mr. Pool scratches her nose. At the end of the trip, the teacher says that no one had a card that said witch and everyone had a card that said townsperson. The "witches" were created by false accusations on the field trip, just like they were in real life hundreds of years ago. At the end of the episode, Sabrina looks at her card (she'd left it on the bus and didn't look at it before) and it says "witch." It's not explained how that happened. Either magic changed her card somehow, or her conscience caused her to see that.
