Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When Sabrina sneezes in school, who gets magical powers?

Answer: Ms. Quick

Sabrina's pointing finger (that she uses to cast spells) gets sick. Against her aunts' advice, she goes to school anyway and takes off her mittens. In the cafeteria, she sneezes on Ms. Quick, who then gains magical powers. Ms. Quick does not realize that she has magical powers and she thinks she has just gone insane.

When Ms. Quick accidentally turns Mr. Kraft into a chimpanzee, Sabrina finally takes her aunt Zelda's advice and she brings the two of them to her. She gives Ms. Quick rose-colored glasses so everything will seem great to her.

They go to the other realm to visit Dr. Brickman, who is a child. He is a prodigy who somehow supervised his own birth. He cures Sabrina's finger, gets Ms. Quick to turn the chimp back into Mr. Kraft, gives Mr. Kraft a "sucker" (a magical lollipop that will make him believe whatever the witches tell him), and tells Sabrina to convince them to turn around a few times when they get back to the school cafeteria. Sabrina does this and then Ms. Quick loses her magic and she and Mr. Kraft resume the argument they were having.
2. What kind of monster is on top of the beanstalk?

Answer: Witch

The witch on top of the beanstalk is a wicked witch (unlike Sabrina and her aunts, who are good witches), although she is pretty on the outside.

When Harvey comes over so that he and Sabrina can work on a project, they get no work done and end up just having fun all day. The next day, Hilda advises Sabrina to use Zelda's labtop to make some magic jumping beans for her and Harvey to boost their creativity. Sabrina attempts this, but does not have the ingredients she needs. She substitutes the ingredients she needs for other ingredients, thinking that will make no difference. The beans that she makes end up forming a beanstalk on the porch. The aunts use their periscope in the kitchen to discover that a wicked witch lives on top of it. To make matters worse, the next time Harvey comes over, he eats some of them and flies up the beanstalk.

Hilda and Zelda go to the other realm to find a solution to their beanstalk problem, but it takes a long time for them to get their problem solved. Sabrina gives up on waiting for them and goes up the beanstalk herself, ignoring Zelda's warning that the high altitude will eliminate her powers and she will be unable to fight the wicked witch. After she gets to the top, she gets into the wicked witch's house by pretending to be a saleswoman of sugary food that attracts kids. When she tries to rescue Harvey and escape, the wicked witch catches them, puts a magical lock on her door that Sabrina can't pick with her magic, and she locks them in her pot to cook them. They convince her to wait until the next day to eat them. When she falls asleep next to them, Sabrina gets a hold of the evil witch's hand and gets it to point at the magical lock on the door, then at her and Harvey. They are freed and the door is unlocked, but Harvey makes the mistake of slamming the door.

The witch chases them but then Sabrina gets a fattened up Harvey (the wicked witch had been fattening him up to make him bigger so there'd be more of him for her to eat) to knock the wicked witch down the beanstalk. The witch survives, but then Sabrina casts a spell that turns her into the worst thing that she can imagine: a vegetarian! Sabrina and Harvey get down the beanstalk. Finally, Hilda and Zelda get a magical arborist that shouts "TIMBER!" and makes the beanstalk disappear.
3. In "The Band Episode," what song does Sabrina's band perform?

Answer: One Way or Another

Sabrina, Valerie, and Harvey form a band to make sure that Libby does not win a battle of the bands contest. Naturally, none of them are talented musicians, so Sabrina uses the labtop to make a soda that gives them talent. When they drink it, they instantly become talented performers.

They wow the crowd with a performance of Blondie's hit song "One Way or Another" and they win the contest. However, this causes them to have over-inflated egos, and it leads to them fighting. Salem convinces Sabrina to make some more soda, but this time he convinces her to leave the bottles open so the sodas become flat.

He says that when they drink the flat sodas, they will lose their talent. Sabrina does just that and she convinces her band mates to do just that, and they lose their talent.

In the end, they convince Libby to be their lead singer so they can entertain audiences for one more show before they disband.
4. In "When Teens Collide," what happens to Sabrina at school?

Answer: She exchanges personalities with Libby

There is "Molecular instability," a condition in the air that affects witches. It causes Zelda's arm to leave her body and get attached to Hilda's body. Then, when Sabrina and Libby accidentally bump their heads into each other, Sabrina becomes a bully (like Libby used to be) and Libby becomes as kind-hearted as Sabrina was.

The other cheerleaders drop Libby as a friend and become Sabrina's new friend and they convince her to take over the school. When she goes home to figure out how to take over the school, Salem convinces her that she can do better than that and take over the world.

She attempts to become a leader of a global conquest, with several men and one cat (Salem) supporting her, but then she gets arrested by witch police. She gets convicted and sentenced to 100 years as a cat. Salem figures out what has happened between Sabrina and Libby, and he gets to the trial just before they were going to turn her into a cat, and he saves her.

When they get home, Zelda makes Sabrina and Libby bump heads again, and their normal personalities come back.
5. What kind of object is expensive in the mortal realm but cheap in the other realm?

Answer: Car

Sabrina and Valerie buy a car together, but they continuously fight over it. Then, Salem tells her that she can buy a car in the other realm. He explains to her that cars are very cheap there because witches do not need them because they can fly. Sabrina goes to a car dealership there, discovers that her quizmaster works there, and buys a car from him.

It turns out that the car can talk (it's voiced by Buddy Hackett). It can also teleport and it does not like being outside where it's cold. Sabrina is not okay with that in the mortal realm and she does not want Valerie to know that they now have a talking car (that might lead to Valerie learning that Sabrina is a witch, which Sabrina cannot allow to happen). Sabrina cannot get the car to behave like a normal car in the mortal realm, so she returns it.
6. In "Disney World," what species of animal did Libby and Valerie become?

Answer: Zebras

The quizmaster casts a spell which makes Mr. Kraft announce that the whole school will be going to Disney World. He does this because Sabrina's test is to make two potions, one that will turn her into an animal and one that will turn her back into a human, and the ingredients for the potions can only be found in Florida. Sabrina successfully makes the potions, but Valerie puts the first one in a water bottle and takes it with her when she goes to hang out with Libby.

When Valerie offers some of to to Libby, the potions ends up getting on their bodies and turning them into zebras. Fortunately, Sabrina finds them, gives them the second potions, turns them back into humans, and passes the test.
7. What is the quizmaster's name?

Answer: Albert

This fact is revealed in "Quiz Show" and is only mentioned in that episode.

Sabrina is having trouble passing a test (that she has to take to get her witch license) in which she needs to turn herself into fire, air, and water. She gets invited to a social event for other witch students and quizmasters. In the bathroom, she tells someone (who looks like a teenage girl, so Sabrina likely assumed she was another witch student) that she does not like her quizmaster. This woman (who is 600 years old) turns out to be the head quizmaster, and she fires him from being Sabrina's quizmaster. Why the head quizmaster just acted based on Sabrina's word and never asked Sabrina for evidence or got Albert's side of the story, I don't know. Sabrina pleads to the Witches Council to get her quizmaster back. They refuse because she explained how she got him fired but didn't explain why she needed him back. The quizmaster gets assigned a new student. The new student is very smart. He learns quickly and he loves his quizmaster. Sabrina goes to the quizmaster's apartment to try to make amends. She fails to do that, but she learns that the quizmaster sometimes invites the new student over to his apartment for a quiz and she finds out that the new student knows the quizmaster's name. Sabrina is angry that Albert never told her his name or invited her to his apartment.

Hilda becomes Sabrina's new witch teacher and Zelda becomes her new chemistry teacher at school. Sabrina gets angry that she's failing in both her witch studies and her regular studies. Eventually, her anger boils up so much that everything falls into place for her. She turns herself into a tornado, and then into fire. She then solves the chemistry problem that Zelda had assigned to her. She then correctly explains to the Witches Council why she needs her quizmaster back and they let him teach her again. He gladly takes the job back and reveals that he stopped working with the new student because he was so perfect that he annoyed Albert, and Albert preferred working with a student who got mad when she saw him.
8. In "Sabrina's Choice," Hilda and Zelda split up. Do they get back together in the end?

Answer: Yes

Hilda and Zelda were already fighting because Hilda left a mess in the house, Zelda cleaned it up while feeling disgusted, and Hilda got mad because she didn't want it cleaned up. Sabrina made their fight worse. First, when Zelda refused to let Sabrina go to a concert, Sabrina asked permission from Hilda and persuaded her by saying that Zelda has been complaining about her. Hilda says yes and Sabrina goes to the concert. When she gets home, Zelda is angry at Sabrina for disobeying her and obeying Hilda, who is younger and less powerful than Zelda. Zelda is also angry at Hilda for letting her go to the concert. Sabrina is grounded.

One week later, the science club throws a party at Gordie's house while his parents are away. Hilda refuses to let her go to the party, but then Sabrina talks to Zelda. She tells Zelda that it's a meeting (not a party) for science people and that Hilda was against it. Zelda is mad at Hilda for not respecting science and she tells Sabrina to go to the meeting, hoping Sabrina will become the next woman in science. When Sabrina gets home, she sees that Zelda and Hilda have figured out where Sabrina has gone and they are mad at her. Zelda is mad because she found it it was really a party and not a meeting and Hilda is mad that Zelda let Sabrina go. As a result, Hilda moves out.

Sabrina gets summoned to the Witches Council. The judge, played by RuPaul, tells her that she can only live with one aunt and she has to immediately decide which one. Sabrina refuses to make a choice. Instead, she uses magic to eliminate most of her hair so Zelda and Hilda will have to work together to make her get better. A hairdresser comes over to give Sabrina some new, purple hair. Then, all is revealed. Hilda and Zelda never really split up and they only pretended to do so to teach Sabrina not to pit them against each other. The hairdresser is really the judge, who was just helping Hilda and Zelda teach Sabrina that lesson. Sabrina's hair remains purple at the end of the episode and she is grounded. While grounded, she gives Salem some purple hair on his head.
9. Which of the following is NOT a rumor started by Sabrina?

Answer: Her quizmaster wears a skirt

That rumor was actually started by Calzone.

Sabrina is told that she must do community service in order to get her witch license. She chooses the "Easy way out." She and Dashell (a half mortal who lives in the mortal realm) are the only ones who choose that. That is run by Calzone, who is Dashell's quizmaster and he is also Dashell's uncle. The "Easy way out" is a rumor mill, where people write a fictional statement on a piece of paper, put the paper in a black hole, and that statement becomes a rumor that gets spread among witches in the other realm. That's what Calzone tells them and that much is true. What he does not tell them is that all rumors started in the other realm become truths in the mortal realm. Sabrina and Dashell decide to start rumors about people they know so they can entertain themselves while entertaining other witches.

All these rumors come true. Harvey becomes pregnant, Libby's parents actually make her move out of their house, Salem becomes a mob boss, and Hilda and Zelda get abducted by aliens. Sabrina's quizmaster tells her that these rumors will go away (and become untrue) when she starts a rumor about herself. She starts a rumor that she has no teeth and everything is back to normal (Harvey is no longer pregnant, Libby is allowed back into her parents' home, Salem's employees leave him, and the ship where Hilda and Zelda are being held captive crashes down to Earth and they escape). Calzone is put on trial for tricking Sabrina and Dashell, but he does not show up. Dashell tells the Witches Council that he does not know where his uncle is. The Witches Council holds Sabrina's quizmaster responsible for all of this and arrests him. Dashell takes Sabrina to the rumor mill and tells her that he actually knows where his uncle is. He tells her that the Witches Council can only put his uncle in jail, which his uncle would enjoy, and Dashell wants his uncle to suffer. Dashell says he knows his uncle is in the mortal realm, so he plans to start a rumor that his uncle will confess to his crimes and spend the rest of his life cleaning dog parks. Sabrina adds that he will do it bare-handed. This rumor becomes true, Sabrina's quizmaster is set free, and Calzone is no longer a problem for them. Sabrina falls in love with Dashell because he saved everyone she cares about, and they share a kiss. Hilda and Zelda enter the rumor mill to interrupt the kiss and ground Sabrina.
10. In "Mom vs. Magic," Sabrina, Salem, Hilda, and Zelda all see their mothers.

Answer: False

Sabrina is given a hard choice. She can either remain a witch but never see her mother again, or she can give up her magic and see her mother. She chooses the second one. The quizmaster holds a bag for Sabrina to put her magic in, and then he sends her to Peru where her mother is. Sabrina and her mother share a very nice visit, happy to see each other for the first time in years. When Sabrina gets home, the quizmaster tells her that this was just a test. Her final test before getting her witch license was to prove that there are more important things to her than magic, and she proved that by choosing her mother.

Salem is not thrilled to see his mother. He sees that she is strict and not affectionate and he blames her for him trying to take over the world. He is also not thrilled because she has no idea that he is now a cat. At first, when she visits, she is shocked to see that her son is a cat and she calls him a terrible person, but then she loves him as a cat. They spend some great time together until she discovers that she is allergic to cats. Then she must go to the doctor and get a shot. Salem feels sad that his mother had to do that just for him.

Hilda and Zelda go to their mother's house in an attempt to visit her. Hilda is jealous of Zelda because Hilda thinks that their mother likes Zelda better than her. Zelda tries to cheer up her sister and prove that their mother does not have a favorite child. For most of the episode, Zelda's efforts are to no avail, but then Zelda finds something in their mother's house that Hilda made that their mother kept, proving that their mother indeed valued Hilda. However, when their mother is not home, they decide to call her. They discover that she went out shopping with Vesta. In the end, both of them are depressed as they both conclude that their mother's favorite child was Vesta, although the season four episode "Little Orphan Hilda" ultimately disproves that theory. Hilda and Zelda do NOT see their mother at all in "Mom vs. Magic."
