Answer: Bruce

After having been removed from 'Survivor 44' on Day 1 due to a severe injury, Bruce Perreault returned to the game, joining the blue Belo tribe and managing to maneuver his way through most of this season quite successfully. And with his addition to the rest of the seventeen cast members, the game commenced with tribes first fighting for their shot at a pot, machete, and flint, then the losers attempting (and failing) to claim their own after in a Sweat vs. Savvy challenge.

Answer: A player quit the game

On Day 3, even before the Lulu tribe went to their first Tribal Council, Hannah expressed her interest in going home, going so far as to try to convince the others to vote for her in spite of Brandon's physical ailments (and his consideration towards using the Shot in the Dark. Ultimately, at Tribal Council, Hannah laid out her decision, telling the others to vote for her.

They did so verbally, and Jeff allowed her to depart from the game as the first player in the show's history to quit before an elimination.

Answer: Fishing gear

The Day 6 Reward Challenge allowed the winning tribe to send one person to another tribe of their choosing to steal a single item and Lulu, winning this one, sent Kaleb to do the deed. En route to Reba, Kaleb ended up also receiving a Goodwill Advantage to give to another player, allowing that person to restore a lost vote for any reason. He gave it to Drew.

Heading to Reba, Kaleb took the tribe's fishing gear, an earlier reward from another challenge.

Answer: Lulu

The only tribe to go to Tribal before the first swap was the yellow-buffed Lulu tribe who, after eight days, finally had the chance to change their fates with a Tribal Swap. After Jeff told the castaways to drop their buffs, all three remaining Lulu members were divided amongst the other players. With this new opportunity, the new Lulu tribe survived next Tribal, but former Lulu member Sean, who was placed with Reba, went home next, asking his tribe mates to vote him out.

Answer: Sandwiches

After the Reward/Immunity Challenge, Reba was tasked with sending one person from each tribe on a journey, and J. Maya joined Kelly and Austin on a long, mountainous hike. At the top, they had a choice-- either they could have taken sustenance in the form of sandwiches and cold beverages or they could've taken on strategy in the form of 'Advantage Amulets', which they ultimately chose.

These Amulets had powers up until six players were left in the game, but their powers were reliant on how long they were still in the game. If all three remained, they were extra votes; if two remained, they were steal-a-votes; if only one remained, it was a full-fledged Immunity Idol. Austin managed to hold onto his, letting it become an Idol.

Answer: Kaleb

On Day 12, all players still in the game dropped their buffs, headed to Reba Beach, and united there though not as the merged tribe. First, they had to split into teams and compete for Immunity; the winners would get their new buffs and a merge feast as well as their safety but the losers would be eligible for the vote. At Tribal Council, Kaleb, believing himself to be at severe risk, decided to take his Shot in the Dark and, in five seasons, became the first to draw the safe option, sparing himself from a unanimous decision and certain elimination. All votes instead shifted to J. Maya.

Kaleb would be sent home at the following Tribal Council, becoming the first member of the jury.

Answer: Orange

As soon as all remaining castaways were assured their spots on the merged tribe they received their orange buffs and named themselves Dakuwaqa. The twists didn't stop at the merge, however. As soon as the players hit their first Individual Immunity Challenge, they were split into two teams and told that two people would be safe going into that evening's proceedings.

The final winner of the challenge would win their team a meal, but both teams would ultimately go to Tribal Council and two people would be eliminated-- the first would go home; the second would become the first member of the jury.

Answer: The Survivor Auction

With the auction having not appeared in "Survivor" since season 30 ("Worlds Apart"), its return was much-welcomed by the castaways on Day 15. There were some notable twists, however. First, the contestants had to collect money for the auction from canisters hidden around their camp. Secondly, there would be no advantages given-- only food-- and there would be a set amount of items as determined by random draw, with a definitive number of five items to bid on and the remainder being based on a number taken from a bag. Finally, the person with the most money remaining at the end of the auction would lose their vote at Tribal Council. Bruce, subsequently, lost his vote, being unable to bid due to his low starting amount.

Answer: Solving a math problem

On Day 17, the nine remaining castaways were split into teams of three (of their choosing) for a Reward/Immunity Challenge with a twist. While the winning trio would compete for Immunity and a rotisserie chicken meal at the Sanctuary, the first trio eliminated from the challenge would lose their votes at Tribal Council that evening.

They would have a chance, however, to regain their votes by taking a Journey, earning their privilege by completing a logic puzzle. Austin was able to restore his vote while Katurah and Emily were unable to.

Answer: Dee

Although the Reba Four managed to retain their alliance and voting advantage until late in the game, the final Tribal Council on Day 26 saw Dee, Austin, and Jake in the seats as the final three with Dee being praised for her strong social and strategic game, Austin navigating the game mechanics with strength, and Jake being considered unable to keep his head above water. Ultimately, it was Dee's ability to keep her own moves, even within her strong alliance (and despite her romantic relationship with Austin) that gave her the edge with the jury and she was crowned Sole Survivor with five votes (to Austin's three).
