Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Mr. Nas appears to be able to transform his shape at will.

Answer: True

Constance paces past the windows of Mr. Nas' sitting room, smoking a cigarette while the unhealthy man rests in bed. She wakes him up and asks him to meet her for a talk, refusing to take him there herself. When she returns to meet him, she chews him out. She understands the need to keep up appearances, making him appear outwardly as an old, decrepit man, but she's seen what's underneath, and that's who she wants to speak to.

Nas turns in the shadows as he transforms and takes a seat, allowing Constance the time to say her piece, but insisting that she get him a drink first. She refuses to do any of his bidding, however, until they clarify a few sticking points.
2. Which, of these, is NOT amongst Constance's list of demands for Mr. Nas?

Answer: Immortality

Constance explains that she has fallen into a familiar pattern. All her life, she's been under the thumb of rich and powerful men in spite of her own cunning. In spite of all of her work, she's never once heard a compliment or a sense that she will be rewarded for her efforts. As such, she demands a handful of things.

First, no nukes. There's been enough violence and war brought about already.
Second, after two hundred fifty years, she wants a woman in the White House.
Third, and last of all, she wants employment for her children to make them feel busy and necessary. Addie and Tate need to be kept well. She suggests leading the postal service for Addie and a spot on FOX News for Tate (as he's more mercurial).

That's it, she says. They can both have a drink and a cigarette and a toast and call the deal done.
3. Mr. Nas reminds Constance that she was always bad, even going so far as to list out her evil deeds. He has them presented to her in which form?

Answer: Scroll

Mr. Nas hears Constance out, but laughs at her nerve, reminding her that she's lucky he has a soft spot for her and a position in his close circle. He beckons her to sit, moving her to the couch with his mind, and talks her off her pedestal, wiping the moral superiority out of her mind. As he pours himself a drink, he reminds her that he was always the Devil over her shoulder. Even if she feels she always did the right thing in her life, somehow she's still in his presence.

The truth is that Constance has done plenty of awful things-- he has an entire scroll of them at the ready and rattles them off. Instead of waste her time further, Nas simply tells her that she was always bad. The Devil made her do it. She takes his scroll and tosses it into the fireplace.
4. While Constance dances with the Devil, what are his musicians doing?

Answer: Melting

Constance watches her scroll of misdeeds burn up in the fire before Nas beckons her to talk. As it turns out, she's been standing, watching the fire work, for three hours. Nas has another surprise for her, much to her frustration, but when she turns around she finds that she's been placed in a new red dress; the room is now lit with scores of candles; musicians play; the furniture has been cleared.

Though Constance is initially concerned, Nas says that the dress hearkens back to an older version of Constance that used to be more vulnerable, and it's this girl that made him fall in love with her years ago. She looks at the band behind him, realizing that the musicians appear to be melting while they play. Nonetheless she dances with the devil, believing it might make her feel a bit less confined.
5. Constance suggests that she join Satan as his mistress, but he refuses this on what basis?

Answer: He's her father

Mid-dance, Constance has to ask-- if he's going to rule the world, the Devil will need someone by his side. While she was standing in front of the fire, she realized she was born bad. She'd be the perfect person to rule by his side; she could be his Mistress of the Damned. And with her, she says, she'll have a Devil of a good time.

The catch, as Nas says, is that he can't take her as his wife in the Biblical sense. There are some barriers to this. He leans in and tells her the truth, snapping her from the reverie: The Devil is her father.
6. In order to determine the origin of the brand mark found on his back, Ben consults which of these?

Answer: A tattoo artist

Ben and Ashley visit a tattoo parlour looking for some answers. After finding the 616 brand on Ben's lower back, Ben, at least, worries that something may have happened to him when he was drugged at Mr. Nas' apartment. The catch is that even something like a cautery pen, which would be more than capable of the clean markings on his skin, would have a lot of residual pain.

When the tattooist presses on the brand to feel its edges, Ben has a momentary vision of himself as a child, recalling images of a cult ritual that terrify him enough to run screaming from the building. The images cause a headache so severe that he needs to take his inhaler and lay down in bed.
7. Ben's AI assistant informs him that the number on his lower back brand comes from which literary source?

Answer: The Book of Revelation

The visions that Ben has are vivid. In them, a group of cloaked figures surrounds a small pool, in which a woman in white brandishes a blade. In the pool with her are thirteen sunflowers. As she turns the knife on herself, young Ben watches on.

Ben awakens in his bed to find his laptop's AI assistant asking him to repeat his question; it has the answer he's looking for. The catch is that he doesn't know what he asked until it starts reciting the popular meanings for the number 616. Naturally, it's from the Book of Revelation. And of course, Ben asks for more.

As the AI assistant glitches out, Ben feels the brand blaze with intense heat. That's when there's a knock at his door.
8. In recalling the events of his childhood, Ben realizes that who was amongst those present at the ritual he experienced?

Answer: Mr. Nas

Ben answers the door to find Ashley there, concerned as to why he ran away from her. He's forthcoming about his problem-- his parents' deaths, the people in his life coming and going-- and he believes that it's all coming back to him. His whole childhood was a blur but he believes he saw them kill someone. He might have been raised by Satanists.

Ashley sits Ben down to avoid another panic attack, reminding him that she's there with him. She chalks up his issue to childhood trauma which, over the years, has smoothed out to basic symbols that trigger his memories. The problem is, as Ben thinks of it, he knows that Mr. Nas was amongst those present for the cult ritual he witnessed.

Ben keeps this to himself, thanking Ashley but noting that he's coming to his senses. He asks her to leave for the night, promising to call later. He plans on visiting his patient.
9. Ben discovers that Mr. Nas' full name is an anagram, piecing it together via which means?

Answer: His AI assistant

When Ben arrives at the Apollyon, he lets himself in to see Mr. Nas being checked on by Mr. Phibes, the phlebotomist, who remarks that his age is still at 96. Ben suggests that they can use the opportunity, in spite of it being his day off, to go over his pain management plan and check the charts. Phibes doesn't allow the chart to leave his hands though, and is outright hostile towards any actually collaboration.

Ben has a new pack of pain meds for Mr. Nas though, and in the other room, he opens his laptop and uses the AI assistant to get whatever info he can about the man-- Taylor Dorium Nas. The AI asks if Ben constructed the name as it could be an anagram. It happens to rearrange to I'M YOUR LORD SATAN. He takes a handful of the pills and intends to overdose the patient.
10. As it turns out, who of these is working alongside Constance?

Answer: Ashley

Constance spends her evening in a pub and finds herself met there by Ashley, there to speak to her about their work. Constance is eager to see her, but Ashley comes bearing bad news. She thinks Ben is onto them about the whole plot.

At the Apollyon, Ben approaches Mr. Nas, asleep in his bed, and gives him a drink of water loaded with crushed lorazepam. When Nas won't drink it, Ben instead forces it into his mouth with a syringe, sealing his mouth and forcing it down his throat. With the patient passed out, Ben finds the marking on his chest-- the points of a pentagram.

Just as Ben prepares to hold a pillow down over Mr. Nas' face, he's stopped by the handsome gentleman in the doorway, not realizing that he is, in fact, the Devil. The man beckons him to follow if he knows what's good for him.
