Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Snow boasts a new enemy for the player to deal with-- Zombie Chuck. Like with Zombie Ranchers, Chucks have an opener they'll do whenever they spot a player. What will Zombie Chucks 'chuck' at the player immediately as they spot them?

Answer: Boulders

Zombie Chucks will, upon spotting the player, first walk until they are within 100 meters of the player, or 50 if the player is standing behind a structure of any kind. Once within this distance, Zombie Chucks will seemingly materialize a boulder from thin air and throw it at the player. They will do this once, then will proceed to resort to typical zombie melee attacks afterward.

This boulder deals massive damage and, uniquely, guarantees a Stun if it hits the player. It also deals significant Block damage, making Zombie Chucks very threatening to defensive structures and the player's shelter in general.

Fortunately, Zombie Chucks are very loud, and their boulders move very slowly. They are easy to dodge, but will inflict rather large consequences if a player is hit by one. They are still extremely threatening, especially during Blood Moons.
2. The Desert forced the player into a difficult position with its high Ambient Temperature Range. The Snow biome, unsurprisingly, provides problems at the direct other end of the spectrum. What is the Snow's Ambient Temperature Range, in Fahrenheit?

Answer: 28 to 32 degrees

This is an even more challenging temperature range than the Desert. If the player body temperature falls at or beneath 32 degrees, they will begin to suffer a stamina recovery debuff that worsens over time. If the debuff remains for long enough, the player will be informed by the game that they are suffering from a cold stroke and will take damage.

With the Desert, the Ambient Temperature range could fall beneath 100 degrees, so during times, the player may not have to necessarily act to resist the weather. Here, the Snow biome will always keep the player at or below the 32 degree debuff threshold. Because of this, large attention to detail must be paid when organizing the gear needed to survive in the Snow biome. Warming mods for armor are essential, thick and heavy clothing is nigh mandatory, and the player is recommended to bring along something such as Coffee or Meat Stew, capable of applying the Warming status effect. At least one of these things is strictly mandatory, but it would probably be best to do all of them before venturing into the Snow.
3. The Snowy biome resides to the far north of Navezgane. If in this setting, which biome of the following is it directly adjacent to?

Answer: Pine Forest

The player could access the Snowy biome quickly upon beginning their playthrough, but clearly should not unless they're fine taking an early game death, when deaths are most punishing.

North of the Pine Forest, the Snowy biome is the widest biome in the entire game. It completely enshrouds the North of Navezgane, stretching from Northeast to Northwest.
4. To survive properly in the Snow biome, Snow Gear is compulsory. If this is unavailable, Scorcher Stew can be consumed to allow the player to briefly traverse the biome. What is one ingredient needed to make Scorcher Stew?

Answer: Beer

Blueberries, Grilled Meat, a Can of Chili and a unit of Beer make up a Scorcher Stew. When consumed, the player may survive for five extra minutes in the Snowy biome, up to a maximum of fifteen minutes per sitting. If planning to explore the Snowy biome without Snow Gear, the player should bring exactly three Scorcher Stews, no more or less.
5. Like with all biomes, there is one resource exclusively farmable out of the Snow biome. In the real world, this resource would be considered bad for little children to receive around snowy weather from a big man with a white beard and red clothing. Here, it will be essential to crafting gunpowder among many things. Which of the following can exclusively be farmed in the Snow biome?

Answer: Coal

Coal is needed for a few different important things. One is Black Lung Serum, helping prepare the player for the Burnt Forest if they haven't ventured there yet for whatever reason. More common usages for Coal would be to make Gunpowder or to make Purified Mineral Water. The former is needed to make ammunition for guns or explosives, the latter is the best drink in the entire game.
6. The Snow biome was once popular in the 2013 version of this game, as players could amass embarrassing amounts of the Snowball resource, bring it back to their base, and endlessly turn it into a ludicrous amount of drinking water. Snowballs were the subject of the harshest of harsh nerfs coming over into this version of the game. They can be used to craft one thing only. What is the one thing?

Answer: Yucca Juice Smoothie

Yucca Juice Smoothies are a direct upgrade over regular Yucca Juice, granting the player a temporary Cooling status effect while also making them regenerate stamina more quickly for a brief period of time.

While this is definitely useful, Snowballs are a far cry less broadly helpful than the original version of this game. They cannot be used to make Water which, while somewhat unrealistic, is a lot more realistic than the lengths players abused Snowballs back in the original. In the original, digging up snow for about one minute could give the player thousands upon thousands of units of Water, making this resource now a total joke to collect and maintain stock on.

Unlike the real world, Snowballs will never melt in this game, even if the player takes them into the Desert. As it is the Snowy biome, gathering snow is understandably a very straightforward affair. As such, making it less rewarding to do something so basic is very sensible.
7. While zombies and maybe other players tend to be problematic, the wildlife becomes a big issue in the Snowy biome. What non-zombified animal can appear here?

Answer: Mountain Lion

On the subject of if Dire Wolves should be considered non-zombified: it's difficult to truly say, but very thankfully not relevant to this question since they won't show up in the Snowy biome unprompted anyway.

Mountain Lions are big, dangerous animals with lots of health. They also give a motherlode of Raw Meat and Leather when slain, making them appealing to hunt. Of course, the player is going to need some strong tools for the job... Or some semblance of high ground, as the lions cannot climb any structure and are apparently too stupid to think to try and smash any meagre shelter the player can put up. As such, they are highly cheeseable, but difficult to fight legitimately.
8. Trader Hugh is the trader attached to the Snowy biome if playing on Navezgane. What does he specialize in?

Answer: Weaponry

In particular, Hugh joins the end game Wasteland's Joel as being the only two traders in the game to guarantee having stock on every gun crafting part in the game. If you need to build a fancy rifle, shotgun, SMG, assault rifle or rocket launcher, Hugh is the guy to go to.

He does sell these resources at a lower rate than Joel, making him preferred if the player mainly or only needs to go buy gun parts, ammo, or guns themselves.
9. Perishton is the name of the city tied to the Snowy biome. Perishton is exclusive amongst the game's catalogue of cities for one thing. What is that thing?

Answer: It is unavailable outside of Navezgane worlds

With the exception of Perishton, if choosing a randomly generated world, cities and biomes can appear anywhere. In such a setting however, Perishton simply will not exist. It can only appear on Navezgane, and in doing so, it will only be in the Snowy biome.

Curiously, in the 2013 original version of this game, Perishton was a part of the Plains biome, a biome mimicking the Pine Forest of this game. Similarly to this game, Perishton would not appear in randomly generated worlds of the 2013 original.

Fun Pimps has never publicly commented on why Perishton has received this odd special treatment.
10. Each city in the game, with the exception of Pine Forest's Diersville, has a Bank. The Bank of Perishton is significantly different from the other Banks in the game. Why is this?

Answer: It is much smaller

Known as the Piggy Bank, this bank is one story and a lot smaller than other banks. This is mostly a good thing as, while there are less Wall Safes to loot, there is far more money to be looted than in regular banks, and in a smaller space where it will be easier to acquire. If the player is struggling with Duke's Casino Tokens and does not want to do trader quests, they could come here and hope to get lucky.
