Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The title of the game suggests a period of seven days to be important. Indeed, every seven days, at night, a "Blood Moon" occurs. In a nutshell, what happens when a Blood Moon takes place?

Answer: Zombies become feral and far more aggressive

Zombies, by default, will only approach the player if the player gets close, makes a lot of noise, or does something to attract attention. Under a Blood Moon, Zombies gain the Feral status which enables them to see the player through walls. Blood Moon will also make the zombies far more aggressive and, when these two traits are combined, it should be easy to see how things can get chaotic and extremely quickly.

In almost all cases, if the player does not have a sturdy shelter during a Blood Moon, they will almost definitely be overwhelmed and killed by zombies. The quantity of zombies that spawn grows with each seventh night. Even on the first Blood Moon however, there are a ton of zombies, and it simply isn't feasible to withstand the Blood Moon horde without having some shelter, and a heck of a lot of ammunition, to use.
2. During the day, zombies are hostile but relatively mellow for the most part. At night, they become significantly more aggressive. What time does night begin?

Answer: 22:00

22:00 or, 10:00 PM, is when night falls. Players are typically advised to have some kind of a shelter for when this happens. That said, zombies are not Feral at night if there is no Blood Moon, so they cannot see through walls. As such, a skilled player who is confident in their loadout can feasibly survive outside at night, so long as they're constantly looking over their shoulder and, ideally, are armed to the teeth in case a bad situation happens.
3. Right from the very beginning, the player has a note from "The Duke" in their possession. Reading it reveals that the player is apparently in very heavy debt to this man, and the note is him angrily demanding that they pay him. How much does the player need to raise to pay him?

Answer: This is never revealed

Although the letter suggests imminent action if the player doesn't pay, this is a facade. The player is never told how much to pay or where to go to pay it, and "The Duke" never appears in game either. It was likely that this whole sequence was intended to introduce money and this game's specific Duke's Casino Token currency to the player.
4. Scrambling for resources early game, the player will likely need to take what they can get as far as guns go. Which of the following is the earliest, most rudimentary type of gun the player will be able to get their hands on, barring extreme luck of some kind?

Answer: Pipe

Pipe weapons, such as the Pipe Pistol, Pipe Shotgun and Pipe Rifle, are genuinely terrible weapons. They do low damage for their class, have the slowest reload speed on the planet and have poor handling and sights to aim with. Clearly, they are made for a player with nothing better to use. Fitfully, they are the only guns in the game which can be repaired with Short Iron Pipes instead of Repair Kits. Repair Kits can be quite the hassle to obtain especially early, while Short Iron Pipes are extremely easy to get ahold of at any stage of the game.

It is possible that the player could randomly loot weapons which surpass Pipe guns. Pipe guns' bar is low to be fair, so even just a basic Pistol or similar would greatly outperform them. The player is almost definitely not going to be able to buy this stuff from the start of the game, so they'd rely on randomly looting it to avoid the need for terrible Pipe guns.

A basic Pistol has a 1% drop rate inside of toilets, of all things. So if the player is desperate, they could concoct the hilarious plan of going door-to-door in apocalypse-strewn houses, looting the toilets of an entire neighborhood. What a lousy task, even by apocalyptic standards.
5. It is possible to play in a randomly generated world. If, however, the player wants to engage with the main setting, this will lead to more consistent, structured gameplay. What is the name of this game's setting?

Answer: Navezgane

If choosing to play in Navezgane, everything will be in the same place it is, and always. Of course, if choosing to play in a randomized "seed", anything could appear anywhere. By default, there is one trader in each biome of the game, and they're all the exact same amount of distance from the next highest quality trader.

In a random setting, though, traders could theoretically appear in different biomes, the same biome as another trader, and so on.
6. In the original "7 Days To Die" which came out in 2013, the player could go virtually wherever they wanted in the entire world, with the only exception of attempting to leave the furthest boundary of the world. In this game, things are different. If I create a fresh new character and immediately head for a biome other than the Pine Forest, what will happen to my character?

Answer: Eventual death

Whether the Snow biome, Burnt Forest or Desert, if the player haphazardly wanders into these biomes, they will be informed that some kind of toxic or hazardous material is entering their characters lungs. They will be given a timer of three minutes. Once the three minutes elapse, if the player remains in the area, their character will start to take harsh damage that persists until they die or leave the area.

In order to survive in these biomes properly, the player must create weather-based gear for the area they're venturing in. Doing this requires the player to complete a handful of specific quests, then collect the materials needed to construct the gear.
7. Regardless of the setting, players will always begin their playthroughs in the Pine Forest, the only biome not requiring specific gear to survive in. There are four other biomes. Which of the following is one of them?

Answer: Wasteland

There's the end-game Wasteland, but well before then, the player is likely to want to visit the Snow, Burnt Forest and Desert biomes, though not always in that order. The order they visit these biomes in will vary from playthrough to playthrough. The second trader of the game, Jen, does reside in the Burnt Forest, making this a reasonable second biome to visit.
8. There are five traders in this game, each with a varied stock compared to one another. The trader accessible at the start of the game is Rekt (yes, that really is his name). Who is another trader the player may visit?

Answer: Joel

Joel, well known for being the friendly trader the player encountered first in the original version of this game, is the last trader found in this game. Players are not strictly confined to an order, but if the player plays the game normally, they will likely find themselves going in order from Rekt, to the Burnt Forest biome to meet Jen, off to the Snow biome for Bob, to the Desert for Hugh, then finally into the Wasteland to reunite with Joel.
9. To help the player survive, crafting a Campfire is highly recommended. What is one resource needed to build a Campfire?

Answer: Plant Fibers

Some Plant Fibers, Small Stones and a few pieces of Wood are needed. These materials are, as you'd expect, very easy to find, making a Campfire overall easy to make. For as easy as it may be, a good Campfire is essential even into the late and end game stages, as this will be how the player cooks all of their food, purifies their water, and makes other helpful resources such as Glue or Herbal Antibiotics.
10. Oh no, you died! Unless playing on the Insane/You're one brave mother! difficulty setting, your playthrough may persist still. You will respawn somewhere completely random, which may or may not mess you up further. You can determine your exact respawn point, however, with which item?

Answer: Bedroll

With a bedroll, the player can determine where they will respawn if and when they die. The straightforward way to use this would be to simply position the bedroll inside whatever shelter the player is using. If no bedroll is placed, the respawn location will be random, but will always be inside the Pine Forest biome somewhere.
