Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Although rare, the "Tom Clark" zombie can be spotted anywhere around the world, at any time. This zombie was named after the real world player, Tom Clark. Tom Clark is the only real-world living person with a likeness in this game. Why is this?

Answer: He donated a lot to the game

In 2013, before the original version of this game came out, a streamer by the name of Tom Clark pledged $6,000 for the "Undead Head" package, which gave him the privilege of appearing in game. Clark appeared in both the original and remade versions of this game.

Curiously, in the original version, the Tom Clark zombie crawled on all fours. In this game, he stands upright. Fun Pimps has not commented as to why this change occurred. Tom Clark does not have any more health nor does he possess anything other than an aesthetic change compared to a normal zombie. So he is easy to kill.
2. Even seemingly random zombies in this game have been given a first name by Fun Pimps. What is one name assigned to a zombie in this game?

Answer: Moe

Named zombies are nothing special, aside from the Tom Clark zombie. They were referred to by their species in the original version; Moe was known as simply 'Festering Cadaver' in the original, for example. Joining Moe for zombie names would be Arlene, Marlene, Joe, Steve, Boe, Yo and Darlene.

There is an easter egg in this game, whereupon the Big Mama zombie will always spawn inside of a structure labeled the "Knowbly Cabin." This is an obvious shoutout to "Evil Dead", as the Knowby Cabin in that movie is where the huge, grotesque Henrietta appears. Because of this, fans of this game have affectionately labeled the Big Mama zombie as 'Henrietta', though this is not reflected in game, where she is simply known as 'Big Mama'.
3. If suffering from the Infection status effect, the Hazmat Zombie becomes more dangerous than usual. What happens when a Hazmat Zombie strikes a player with the Infection status?

Answer: It increases Infection more than usual

Ordinarily, if a regular zombie attacks a player suffering from Infection, there is a chance it will increase the Infection. But, there is also a chance nothing adverse happens with this status too. For Hazmat Zombies, any hits received while Infected will always cause the Infection to worsen by 0.4%.

This is huge as, even regular zombies could only occasionally raise Infection by 0.1%: Hazmat Zombies have a guaranteed chance to do so, and to do so at a 4x quantity as well.
4. Wights may appear to be regular zombies, but if you get one's attention during the day, it will become clear that they're different. During the day, what can Wights consistently do that regular zombies cannot?

Answer: Sprint

Unlike regular zombies, Wights are not affected by the day/night cycle of this game. They will act the same regardless of the time of day, prompting them to sprint after the player if they spot them.
5. Directly inspired by "The Walking Dead's" famous Well Walker, this zombie has a ton of health, is big, fat and oftentimes angry. What is this zombie called?

Answer: Zombie Tourist

The Zombie Tourist has 450 HP, so it's tanky and tough to take out quickly without armor piercing or hi-powered rounds. Thankfully, it is very slow and has a massive hurtbox, so it's easy to land shots against from a distance.

Fun Pimps themselves has publicly stated the the Well Walker from Season 2 of "The Walking Dead" indeed served as direct inspiration for this zombie.
6. In the original version of this game, this zombie type could only spawn in the Snowy biome. In the remake, it can appear anywhere. Would you be able to tell me the type of zombie?

Answer: Zombie Lumberjack

The Zombie Lumberjack may not appear much at first glance, but it can be a menace to unprepared players. It has more HP than regular zombies, more frequently inflicts Stun with its melee attacks and can cause Bleeding more easily than regular zombies as well.

They are thankfully a step slower than regular zombies, so players with decent guns or bows should be able to handle them. Those forced to resort to melee, however, should keep their head on a swivel.
7. Police officers in real life generally may use guns or other technical resources for their job. Zombie Cops, however, use an entirely different projectile in this game. What do Zombie Cops shoot at the player?

Answer: Puke/Vomit

Zombie Cops can, from a decent distance, projectile vomit onto the player. Of course, on top of being disgusting, this vomit is acidic and will deal damage if it hits. The damage is surprisingly low, but it will melt through the player's armor faster and is likelier than a regular zombie melee attack to cause the Infection status.

Thankfully before vomitting, Zombie Cops give off enormous telltale signs that it's coming. They will emit a very loud gurgle and appear to throw their heads back just before the vomit maneuver comes.
8. In constructing their base, the player may find themselves wanting to light the place up with torches or candles. They will also eventually want to make Campfires, at least one Forge and a Chemistry Station. Doing all of this in moderation is fine, but building too many of these structures will attract what Special Zombie?

Answer: Screamer

All of the actions mentioned in the question will gradually increase the player's Heat level. Screamers directly respond to Heat, and when the player reaches various, unknown benchmarks for Heat, a Screamer will spawn and travel towards their base.

If the Screamer spots a player, it will scream very loudly. This will spawn in a zombie horde, the size determined by Game Stage and Heat, that will be able to see the player through walls. This will necessitate the player's hand in directly dealing with them, as hiding will not work.
9. Zombies with green skin can be a real menace to fight. They are the reason the Rad Remover mod for guns and melee weapons exists. What can green-skinned zombies, known as Radiated Zombies, do?

Answer: Passively heal

The moment a Radiated Zombie takes damage that brings their health beneath 80%, they will begin to heal. They will not heal above 80% of their health, but even from 1%, they can quickly get a lot of health back if the player doesn't finish the job.

The Rad Remover mod, placeable on most guns and melee weapons, will remove this passive healing for 90 seconds. As such, players struggling with Radiated Zombies should get this mod, as it will help to solve the problem firmly.
10. If multiple players are in one game and a Zombie Vulture shows up, determining who it will attack can be tricky if the players do not have some means to communicate over voice or at least text with each other. However, their behavior very much mimics real-life Vultures. Amidst a group of players, who are Zombie Vultures likeliest to target?

Answer: Anyone who is suffering from a negative status effect

Ranging from Infected to having an Abrasion, broken or sprained body parts, too high or low of a body temperature, Zombie Vultures are surprisingly good at paying attention to these things. They will prioritize whichever target is suffering from the most maladies in general.

They do not seem to care about player health bars, so someone low on health but without any status afflictions will be skipped over in favor of someone on high health with status afflictions.
11. The Mutated Zombie isn't too much to deal with from far away, but approaching it with melee or up close in general is highly unadvised. It can afflict players with an extremely nasty status effect that can only be replicated by trying to leave the boundary of the game's entire world. What status is this?

Answer: Deadly Radiation

If the player tries to travel so far that they would be leaving the entire map itself, they will enter a never-ending radiation zone that will, until departed, permanently afflict travellers with this status. Deadly Radiation will kill the player extremely quickly, and this was done with the almost definite intention of stopping the player from just leaving the world of play.

Mutated Zombies, however, take this status effect into the world of play. If a player is hit by their acid spewing attack, it will briefly afflict Deadly Radiation. In total, between the acid hit and the brief application of this status, players will likely suffer around 70-80 total points of damage, provided they do not take any more hits. This is significant as, even at end game, players only have anywhere from 160-200 HP.
12. Found only in the Desert biome, this Special Zombie will cough up a swarm of Zombie Bees and launch them at the player on sight. Who is it?

Answer: Zombie Rancher

Zombie Ranchers are identifiable by their farm clothing aesthetic, and are easy to distinguish in the brown, barren Desert. Their bee swarm moves slowly and does not deal much damage, but it will greatly slow the player as the swarm attacks and has a high 20% chance to apply Infection.
13. This zombie type only spawns in the Snowy biome, and loves to throw a boulder at its target. What zombie is this?

Answer: Zombie Chuck

Zombie Chucks have a lot of health and are larger than the average zombie. They can only throw one boulder, and act as regular zombies after throwing it. But the one boulder does a ton of damage if it hits, and guarantees a Stun on struck players. It also deals a lot of Block damage, making Chucks threatening to base structures as well.
14. In the Navezgane setting, legend tells of a huge, horned, zombified boar residing deep in the cave of a mad scientist. The player can find and kill this boar for a unique, guaranteed Legendary Z-Pack drop. They can find the boar by going to "Bob's Boars & Carl's Corn" and looking for a sign with the boar's name on it. What is the name of this legendary zombie boar?

Answer: Grace

Despite all the hype, Grace is surprisingly easy to both cheese and kill legitimately. She has about as much health as a Radiated Zombie, minus the ability to heal, and with a much larger hurtbox that makes her easier to hit.

In order to find Grace, the player must enter a large, metal cage with the name 'Grace' spelt out on it. In this cage, there is a hole in the ground with a ladder the player must go down. Going down this ladder and traveling through a hidden cave will allow the player to find Grace at the very back.

Seriously, the zombies likely to accompany Grace are more of a threat than she is. Grace will initially be found sleeping. If the player has a rifle better than the Pipe Rifle, they can easily just one shot Grace from afar with a well placed shot to her head without even awakening her.

Upon killing her, she will always drop a highly coveted Legendary Z-Pack, likely to have excellent loot in it. For this reason, Grace is a highly appealing choice for players to hunt due to her favorably disproportionate risk/reward factor.
15. Demolition Zombies or, Demolishers, are especially dangerous to fight up close. If struck in the chest area, what will happen, eventually or immediately?

Answer: They will explode

Attached to the chest of every Demolisher is a block of C4, initially appearing green. If ever struck, this green will become a flashing red, and the Demolisher will explode after ten seconds. If shot, detonation occurs immediately. If the player is near the blast, they will always be killed.
