Topping out at 875 direct hit damage when at its maximum rank, the Rocket Launcher can take out anything other than a Dire Wolf in one hit, including other players. It is extremely unwieldy, as it must be reloaded after each time it is fired and is very slow in doing so.

It also deals significant splash damage, so the player must be careful not to accidentally destroy a huge part of their base, as well as themselves or allied players, when firing it.

Answer: Sniper Rifle

Effective range is the range at which a projectile can hit for its full amount of damage. Weapons can still go a little beyond their effective range to at least do something, but damage will be reduced beyond the effective range.

The Sniper Rifle has an effective range of 84 meters. The player can only actually spot things up to 100 meters, as the game simply will not load entities farther out than 100 meters visually. As such, if the player can see it, their Sniper Rifle can hit it, and most likely at effective range as well.

Answer: MP5

At a blazing 480 rounds per minute, the MP5 is ready to kill zombies (and perhaps enemy players!) and take names. The downside, of course, is that overtly liberal use of the MP5 can put a dent in the player's ammunition stock. As such, before committing to this weapon, the player should have a solid plan for how to keep themselves afloat on ammunition.

Answer: M60

The M60 offers a bloated clip size of 60. It does fall just short of the MP5's fire rate, 440 rounds per minute vs the latter's 480, but this clip size helps to keep the M60 in the fight for longer. In particular, the combination of high clip size, high fire rate and standout damage makes the M60 the best weapon for dealing with the game's nastiest enemies. Dire Wolves, Zombie Bears, Demolishers and more are less daunting with an M60 equipped.

Like with the MP5, however, players must make sure not to blow through their ammunition too quickly here. Rifle ammunition is generally more expensive and harder to craft than Handgun ammunition, so the M60's ammo problem can be harder to tend to than the MP5.

Answer: Strength

Strength weapons tend to be slow, close ranged, but hit very hard. Shotguns embody this concept perfectly, and are adept at taking out close ranged threats.

Answer: Perception

Perception offers the ability to acquire the Animal Tracker perk, which goes hand-in-glove with leveling up rifles. If in a party with other players, whoever is leveling Perception should assume the responsibility of hunting and gathering for the group. If playing solo, this will be the best way for the player to stay stocked on food, and unsurprisingly makes Perception a great choice for the first stat solo players invest into.

Answer: Fortitude

Conveniently, as the name suggests, Fortitude additionally offers numerous defensive benefits to the player that pair with an added damage to their use of MGs. This is perfect for defending one's base, especially during Blood Moons. MGs such as the M60 or AK47 tend to be the best tools to defend with, and having handy defensive benefits from leveling up Fortitude can make playing defense generally easier.

Answer: Agility

While bows generally don't deal as much damage as rifles, they do receive an added bonus to Stealth damage that makes them generally preferred to rifles in close quarters, assuming they are able to maintain stealth.

This playstyle may be seen by some as boring or lame, but is doubtlessly the safest and most efficient way to operate in particularly dangerous territory. The player has strong weaponry to defend themselves against dangerous enemies, and using this weaponry won't ring the dinner bell for neighborhoods full of zombies like guns would.

Answer: Agility

Like with bows, handguns may not quite be up to par with the most lethal weapons ever, but they are easy to maintain and keep ammunition stocked up for. Options such as the .44 Desert Vulture and .44 Magnum are certainly not lacking in damage output, either.

Answer: Shock Baton

Shock Batons and the Robotic Sledge are the only weapons whose damage output benefits from Intelligence. The former is largely a utility tool not intended to do damage with anyway, but it does a fantastic job at stunning and disabling zombies, letting a teammate or the user more easily follow up with a killing blow. Robotic Sledges also deal little damage, but are great for causing separation and getting an enemy out of melee range from the user.
