Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Every Biome in the game hosts one city, whether in Navezgane or a random setting. What city is within Pine Forest?

Answer: Diersville

Gravestowne is the city in the Burnt Forest, roughly about half a mile away from Trader Jen. Departure is the oddly named town in the Desert, while the town in the Wasteland does not have a name.

Diersville is home to a huge hospital, a few rural neighborhoods, and lots and lots of trees. It is a considerable distance from Trader Rekt of just under two miles, incentivizing players to take quests from Rekt and eventually earn a Bicycle for travel.
2. Each biome in this game has plant life which naturally differs from one another. Which plant of the following can only be found in the Pine Forest?

Answer: Chrysanthemum

Yucca and Aloe Verra plants can be found in the Desert, while Mushroom plants are aplenty in the Burned Forest.

Chrysanthemum is arguably the most valuable plant in the entire game. Mixing it just with a plain unit of water allows the player to make Red Tea, one of the best, easiest drinks to make in the game.

As such, while the player likely will leave the Pine Forest at some point, they will want to return to farm Chrysanthemum eventually. Or, just bring tons of the stuff with them, as it never goes bad.
3. Each biome, in Navezgane, harbors one Trader each. Who is the Trader in the Pine Forest?

Answer: Rekt

Rekt is an extremely abrasive, rude, angry trader with a limited stock and limited quests. In this, he is a perfect choice for the game's clearly most useless trader in the game. As a trader, Rekt is still useful in general, but even Jen let alone later game Traders completely embarrass him in terms of what they have to sell.

As well, Rekt is just a jerk in general, and listening to Jen or Joel is just more pleasant.
4. What is the Ambient Temperature Range, in Fahrenheit, for the Pine Forest?

Answer: 76-80 degrees

A consistent, tame Ambient Temperature makes the Pine Forest the easiest biome to survive in by far. Occasionally, when raining this will drop into the 30-40 range. This is not too threatening, but it is possible for the player to get hypothermia if they swim in a lake, while raining, and do not have suitable clothing on. So while the player does have to sometimes actually use their brain, it is a far cry from the scorching heat of the Desert or biting cold of the Snow biomes.
5. Cotton is a useful resource to make cloth with. Can the player find Cotton plants in the Pine Forest?

Answer: Yes

If the player does not have the Wasteland Treasures Volume 6 book, they will need to either scavenge for cloth and just hope they get lucky, or find the many Cotton plants scattered around Pine Forest. Cotton is thankfully very common, so this should be a straightforward process.
6. Blueberries are needed to make a variety of powerful food items. Can these be found in the Pine Forest?

Answer: No

Blueberry plants are a common find in the Snow biome. Unfortunately, the player needs Scorching Stew eventually to survive in the Snow biome, which does require blueberries. As such, this is frequently a resource found in a trader's inventory, rather than actually farmed, in the early-going of a game.
7. Zombie Bears are shockingly huge, bigger than some straight up buildings! Do Zombie Bears appear in the Pine Forest?

Answer: No

Zombie Bears could be lured into the Pine Forest if the player wanted for some reason, but they will not appear in the Pine Forest unprompted. This is good, as Zombie Bears have tons and tons of health, deal tons and tons of damage, and are huge. Freakishly huge. A player starting their playthrough is clearly not going to be capable of dealing with these things.
8. Lightning storms are common in Pine Forest, in particular occurring on every seventh night. Is it possible to die to a lightning storm in this game?

Answer: No

Fortunately, this is a mere aesthetic, as the player will never actually witness lightning crashing down in front of them, or better yet on top of them. It is likely a cosmetic choice, designed to spook players out on that tension-inducing seventh day as players are likely scrambling to set themselves up for a Blood Moon.
9. The wildlife in any biome is important, as killed animals can offer various useful resources to hunters. Which animal of the following commonly appears in the Pine Forest?

Answer: Rattlesnake

Dire Wolves are the single nastiest foe to fight in the entire game, posing more of a threat than any zombie could aim to muster. Even end game players will be swiftly killed by these things, which can eat hits like no tomorrow and deal tons of quick damage. Thankfully, they are only found in the Wasteland, an end game area, so the player will ideally be ready for them at least somewhat.

Mountain Lions are difficult to kill up close, but highly cheeseable, as they cannot climb any structures. They also drop tons of meat, making them worthwhile. They only appear in the Desert and Snow biomes, however.

Vultures can appear in the Pine Forest, but only during quests. Meanwhile, Rattlesnakes are a common presence in the Pine Forest. They do not give much when killed, but are also very easy to kill. They can inflict the player with poison and are difficult to spot sometimes, however, so the player must keep their ears open to any nearby 'hiss' sounds.
10. The Pine Forest is home to lots and lots of bodies of water, making Empty War Jars very valuable. Is it possible for the player to obtain a Crucible in the Pine Forest, with which to forge Empty Water Jars?

Answer: Yes

There is a 1% chance for this item to appear in Trader Rekt's stock, which refreshes every three in-game days. Barring any way to mitigate shop prices, this will cost a staggering 15,000 Duke's Tokens. Given that one quest from Rekt pays 200-400 tokens, it is likely the player won't be able to afford a Crucible if it even does appear. It is still possible, though.

Traders Jen and Joel would be better for getting a Crucible from; the former has the same annoying 1% rate, but at least doesn't charge as much for it as Rekt. The latter will be a lot likelier to have a Crucible, though sitting in an end game area makes it difficult to obtain in general.

A Crucible is extremely useful, and is worth every token regardless of who is selling it. While difficult, if the player has the discipline to save the tokens up for one, their efforts would be supremely rewarded.
