Question 2 of 10
2. In "Dark Souls 1", From Software debuted the concept of a burst-fire crossbow. The Avelynn is an ammo guzzling DPS machine hidden away at the Duke's Archives. It's particularly treacherous, because the player will be required to time a jump at a very specific window off an elevator to reach the chest. If the player messes up the timing and jumps too early or late, what happens? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. The Darkmoon Bow in "Dark Souls 1" is an enigma. It deals mostly Magic damage, but it has zero scaling off of Intelligence. What does this bow mainly scale off of? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. In "Dark Souls 2", the player will do battle with the Child of Dark, Nashandra who is also the Queen of Drangleic and Fragment of Manus. Afterward, her boss soul can be used to acquire the Bow of Want. Despite Nashandra's background with the Dark, this bow does not deal or scale off of Dark whatsoever. What element does this bow deal? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. It is possible to damage the Dragonrider "Dark Souls 2" boss even when outside his boss room; he can be sniped in a part of Heide's Tower of Flame to the side of the boss room. However, this early in the game, the player will only have a very limited amount of options with enough range to do this. Which of the following can pull this off? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. The Dragonriders are a consistent force across Drangleic. In the Twin Dragonrider boss fight, one of them tries to shoot the player with the Dragonrider Bow. The Dragonrider Bow isn't just any bow, it deals elemental damage. What element? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. "Dark Souls 3's" Aldrich, Devourer of Gods doesn't pose much of a threat in his boss fight until he busts out his bow and rains down a barrage of deadly arrows onto the player's position. As it turns out, his bow of choice hails from "Dark Souls 1." What bow does Aldrich wield? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. For years, the Avelynn (and very briefly in "Dark Souls 2", the Sanctum Crossbow) acted as our only means of dealing burst fire damage with a bow. Then, Gael's Crossbow arrived in "Dark Souls 3" and gave a breath of fresh air, as its bursts were enormous. How many bolts are fired per burst on the Gael's Crossbow? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. The Lion's Greatbow is likely the best bow in all of "Elden Ring", but it actually doesn't have the highest base damage among its fellow greatbows. Which greatbow of the following has the highest base damage? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. The Jar Cannon in "Elden Ring" is clearly not a conventional bow. Given that there are buffs in this game that only work when used on bows, since the Jar Cannon performs similarly to a really big bow, is it considered to be a bow by the game itself?

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Demon's Souls", there is only one bow capable of dealing elemental damage without the need for elemental ammunition. What bow is it?

Answer: Lava Bow

The Lava Bow, as the name implies, will deal innate Fire damage in conjunction with the type of ammunition being used. It also has the longest range out of any bow in the game, making it by a million miles the best bow in the game.

Answer: Their character dies

The treasure chest containing the Avelynn is inside of a treasure chest atop an enormous, dangerously narrow bookshelf. If the player mistimes jumping onto this from the leverage of an elevator, their character will die to ensuing fall damage. The character will die even if the player had the Silver Cat Ring equipped, and even if the character has the highest amount of HP and defenses possible.
3. The Darkmoon Bow in "Dark Souls 1" is an enigma. It deals mostly Magic damage, but it has zero scaling off of Intelligence. What does this bow mainly scale off of?

Answer: Faith

Darkmoon weapons including this bow and the Darkmoon Blade spell are magic weapons that scale predominantly off of Faith. Likewise, Dark Sun Gwyndolin's boss soul is the one used to make the Darkmoon Bow.

Answer: Lightning

In particular, this bow comes with a unique skill that does not consume any ammunition, instead taking durability. It involves the bow winding back and shooting out a lightning spear. As well, this weapon scales most effectively off of Faith and deals the most amount of damage possible under a Lightning infusion.

Answer: Longbow

Longbows have a range just high enough to deal reduced damage, but better than no damage at all. At the range the player will have to fire at, it will take roughly 90-100 arrows depending on the strength of the bow and ammunition fired to bring Dragonrider down to 1 HP left.

He cannot be killed without actually entering the boss room, but once done, he will be a one shot kill upon entering.
6. The Dragonriders are a consistent force across Drangleic. In the Twin Dragonrider boss fight, one of them tries to shoot the player with the Dragonrider Bow. The Dragonrider Bow isn't just any bow, it deals elemental damage. What element?

Answer: Magic

This bow scales almost evenly off of the trio of Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence, and deals split Physical/Magic damage. Uniquely, this is a shortbow with the speed and damage of a longbow. This is a good thing, as it makes the weapon deal damage and function like a longbow, with the weight of a smaller shortbow.

Uniquely, when using Magic arrows, they will deal more damage than usual if fired using this bow.

Answer: Darkmoon Bow

Predictably, the bow is much, much stronger in his hands than with the player. Still, this quirky magic dealing, Faith scaling bow made its return here. Unsurprisingly, it is one of two different rewards the player can trade Aldrich's boss soul for.

Answer: Ten

This weapon is an extreme ammunition guzzler, to say the least. Because only 99 bolts can be carried at a time, this weapon can only fire ten bursts, with the tenth containing only nine shots. That said, its raw DPS and capacity to poise break beat out even Greatbows, making it worthwhile if the player can keep up with its extreme ammunition demands.
9. The Lion's Greatbow is likely the best bow in all of "Elden Ring", but it actually doesn't have the highest base damage among its fellow greatbows. Which greatbow of the following has the highest base damage?

Answer: Golem Greatbow

The Golem Greatbow slightly edges out the Erdtree Greatbow for highest base damage. However, this is a great example as to why raw stats don't tell the full picture. The Erdtree Greatbow deals split Holy damage, so it will end up getting outdamaged by all Greatbows unless the target is specifically weak to Holy. Meanwhile, the Golem Greatbow is inferior to the Lion Greatbow because of the latter's exclusive "Radahn's Rain" Ash of War. As well, when using Radahn Spears, the Lion Greatbow buffs this ammunition type to the point where it is stronger than anything the rest of its class can muster.

Still, the Golem's Greatbow has the highest base damage in its class. While that isn't everything, it's certainly at least something.
10. The Jar Cannon in "Elden Ring" is clearly not a conventional bow. Given that there are buffs in this game that only work when used on bows, since the Jar Cannon performs similarly to a really big bow, is it considered to be a bow by the game itself?

Answer: Yes

The Jar Cannon does receive the buffs conveyed by the Arrow's Reach and Arrow's Sting talismans. As well, since the Jar Cannon fires Great Bolts, it is considered to be a bow by the game.
