Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. There are 152 Shrines in "Tears of the Kingdom". How many Lightroots can Link find?

Answer: Less than 152

The interesting part is that while Link can visit one hundred fifty-two Shrines, only one hundred and twenty are found on Hyrule's surface while the remaining thirty-two are located in the Sky Islands. Every single one of these Shrines corresponds to a Lightroot in the Depths, and visiting any of these will light up and unveil a portion of the Depths on your map.

Because thirty-two of the Shrines appear to have been uprooted as part of the Upheaval, there are no corresponding Lightroots for them. The one hundred twenty Lightroots, however, are 1:1 matches for those on the surface and their names are the reverse of the Shrines on the main map.
2. Link can trade Lights of Blessing for Heart Containers or up to how many Stamina Vessels?

Answer: Ten

There are one hundred and fifty-two Lights of Blessing found in "Tears of the Kingdom", all collected from the Shrines in the Sky Islands and on Hyrule's surface, and that equates to thirty-eight offerings to the Goddess Statues in key locations (like Lookout Landing and Kakariko Village, to name a couple). Since Link can obtain ten Stamina Vessels to max out his stamina at three wheels, this would use up a total of forty Lights of Blessing while the remaining one hundred twelve could theoretically go to maxing out your Hearts. Link can ultimately have up to forty Heart Containers, and several come from boss battles.

Link can swap Stamina Vessels and Heart Containers at will at the Horned Statue in Hateno Village if you feel a mistake has been made in your offering selections.
3. Korok Seeds can be used to upgrade equipment slots, but NOT which of the following?

Answer: Armor

There are exactly one thousand Korok Seeds in "Tears of the Kingdom" and, yes, that's a lot to hunt down, especially since Koroks are quite small creatures that often hide in the most innocuous of spots. To collect Korok seeds, you either need to locate them hiding within odd locations (like under solitary rocks), help them reunite with each other out in the world (by carrying them across dangerous expanses), or complete little trials to make them appear. The Seeds they give as rewards can be handed off to Hestu in Lookout Landing, and he'll add a slot to Link's Weapons, Bows, or Shields inventory at increasing costs.

If you max out your stash capacity, Hestu will give Link Hestu's Gift, a commemorative item shaped like a golden pile of poop.
4. There are as many Bubbul Gems in the game as there are which of the following?

Answer: Caves

Throughout Hyrule's numerous caves, Link can locate bright blue and yellow Bubbulfrogs, large creatures which appear high up on walls and seem to have magical capabilities. If Link can get a hit in on one of these (an arrow will do), the Bubbulfrog will perish and leave behind a Bubbul Gem to collect, and there are one hundred forty-seven of them altogether.

The Bubbul Gems go to Koltin, an odd person who aims to become a glowing being known as a Blupee (which appears to guide Link to Bubbulfrog locations). The first forty-seven Bubbul Gems you give Koltin will result in unique items (sometimes even armor), but after one hundred forty-seven are handed over, Koltin will transform and never be seen again.
5. You can use the Pony Points Card at Stables to get rewards. These max out at what number of Pony Points?

Answer: Fifty

There are a number of Stables located around the map in Hyrule, and these can often be used as an easy respite, a spot to cook and heal, a place to shop, and a location at which you can board and claim your horses. Speaking to the clerk at the desk will allow you to claim the Pony Points Card, a membership card that rewards you with a single Pony Point every time you stay in one of the beds at any of their locations (whether you use a Sleepovrer Ticket or pay full price).

The card grants rewards for up to fifty points, increasing the amount of horses you can board, their accessories, and their capabilities (the last reward involves more Endura Carrots).
6. The Schema Stones that Link can collect are to be used with which Purah Pad ability?

Answer: Autobuild

One of the new capabilities of the Purah Pad, in 'Tears of the Kingdom" at least, is the Autobuild function, which uses provided materials (your own or ones laying around) to craft devices that Link can use to his advantage, and besides a 'most recent' type of functionality, Link can get his hands on twelve Schema Stones, provided by the Zonai in the Depths, to flesh out his Autobuild catalogue with creations like the Fanplane, the Instant Scaffold, and the Hovercraft.

Link can also collect thirty-four Yiga Schematics in the Depths, and they function in much the same way. Some of these include the Monocycle, the Smoke Rocket, and the Flamethrower Balloon.
7. The twenty Sage's Wills are traded to Goddess Statues. Where can these be found?

Answer: In the Sky Islands

Much in the same way that you can bring four Lights of Blessing to any Goddess Statue to trade in for a Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel, you can bring four Sage's Wills along to upgrade your collected Sages' attacks, empowering all five of them (once each) to make them more proficient as aids in battle.

There are only twenty Sage's Wills in the game-- just enough to cap off all five-- and all of them are found in less-than-convenient spots amongst the Sky Islands. If you're already on a quest to locate the Zonai Tablets and traverse the larger fixtures above Hyrule, this will be worth your while (though it is far from mandatory).
8. How many Dragon's Tears will Link be able to locate?

Answer: Twelve

A key component of the adventure's main quest line, you'll quickly come to discover that there are designs etched in light in a dozen regions of Hyrule, all of which form shapes relevant to the royal line, and as part of each of these, Link will find a small pool containing a Dragon's Tear. All twelve of these can be collected to bestow memories upon Link, all following events that occurred in the past and in the lead-up to the Great Upheaval.

Inevitably, if Link locates all twelve, he'll come to the understanding that Princess Zelda, in an effort to restore the Master Sword, transformed herself into the Light Dragon circling the skies above Hyrule.
9. There are thirty-one Old Maps in the game, all of which correspond to which of the following?

Answer: Treasures

There are a lot of things you can find in inconspicuous chests in this game, and amongst those found throughout the Sky Islands, Link can find thirty-one total 'Old Maps', each of which corresponds to a location hidden in the Depths (though not located straight down from where the maps were found).

Although some of these will take Link to otherwise quiet, empty locations, others may drop him down in a closed arena or a Coliseum for a massive boss fight. The rewards are valuable though, and range from caps and tunics akin to those in past games to Biggoron's Sword, Midna's Helmet, and Majora's Mask.
10. The way to upgrade armor in "Tears of the Kingdom" is by speaking to the Great Fairies. Which is not one of them?

Answer: Navi

There are tons of armor pieces to collect and upgrade throughout the game, whether collected in chests, received from quests, garnered as rewards, or purchased from shops, and while some of these receive natural status benefits that outweigh poor defences, determining the best trade-offs is part of the puzzle to solve in navigating everything from super-cold mountains to super-hot volcanoes to electrical foes to creatures using Gloom.

For all other enhancements, Link relies on the Great Fairies, all of whom are found in Fountains around Hyrule, generally near Stables. While one Great Fairy will be available upon first visit, Link needs to reunite a travelling band to persuade the other three to emerge. If he does, he can update a number of core gear items-- headpieces, armor, and pants-- to a fourth level, compounding their effects. These often have steep prices involving Rupees and rare materials, but the effect is critical when building up for the final battles.

The Fairies' names are Cotera, Kaysa, Mija, and Tera.
