Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Something appears to be affecting Hyrule and Link and Zelda investigate its source. Which of these civilizations, as they discover, birthed the first members of the Hyrule Royal Family?

Answer: Zonai

Searching the tunnels below Hyrule Castle for the cause of the Gloom, a miasma-like substance that seems to be causing the kingdom to fall ill, Link and Zelda locate the ruins of an ancient civilization, coming to determine that the Zonai, who once resided in palaces in the sky, were responsible for descending from the Heavens and fighting in the Imprisoning War.

Heading deeper into the caves, a tear-shaped rock is revealed to the duo before the Demon King bursts forth, weakening Link and decaying the Master Sword, using his dark energy to force Hyrule Castle to ascend into the sky.

As Princess Zelda plummets into the Depths below, Link is saved by magic, infusing his destroyed arm with powers that will allow him to regain his strength to start his adventure. Outside, the sky will rain down on Hyrule. Link, however, will find himself somewhere else, embarking on a new adventure in the wake of the Great Upheaval.
2. Link will receive the Purah Pad on Great Sky Island. Which of these abilities will he NOT glean from the Shrines of Light there?

Answer: Camera

Link will emerge from the Great Upheaval and find himself on the Great Sky Island, suspended high above the land of Hyrule in what he determines to be the Garden of Time. Speaking to a Zonai Steward, a robotic construct, he'll receive a Purah Pad, left behind by Zelda, and be able to proceed with unique powers at his disposal, all facilitated through the capabilities of his new right arm.

Rauru, the one responsible for this arm and this power, will appear before Link to explain everything, but it'll mean powering up the arm with sacred light (as he is the Sage of Light). Visiting a handful of nearby shrines to give the powers of Ultrahand, Fuse, and Ascend from the Lights of Blessing will do the trick.

Link will be able to reunite with Zelda briefly, granting him the ability of Recall, before Link is allowed to part the clouds and return to Hyrule, following the Decayed Master Sword to the surface and starting his new adventure in earnest.
3. Which of these acts as a way marker in the Depths if Link happens to provide it with power?

Answer: Lightroot

When Link touches back down on Hyrule he'll embark on a trip to Hyrule Castle (meeting Purah at Lookout Landing) and pass by the guardhouses, chasms, and pits created by the recent Upheaval. Though he'll spot Princess Zelda in the distance, she'll vanish in a ball of light.

The catch is that reports will be coming in from all over the map-- phenomena resulting from the events that have recently transpired-- and these will be occurring at the same time that Link has to contend with islands in the sky as well as gloomy, cavernous Depths under Hyrule's surface.

If Link can get his hands on a Paraglider, he can pursue a quest that sends him into one of the sinkholes just outside of Lookout Landing before he embarks around Hyrule proper, and this will give him a primer on how to manage the Gloom seeping into the caverns below. Stopping off at the Lightroots (which correspond to the locations of Shrines on the overworld), navigating the darkness, and finding new powers for the Purah Pad will be key here as it won't be the last time Link finds himself in the dark.
4. The first reports of Regional Phenomena will send link to the Hebra Region in the northwest there, he can find a journalistic agency that goes by what name?

Answer: Lucky Clover Gazette

As Link heads northwest to the Hebra Mountains, he's bound to locate the newspaper headquarters of the Lucky Clover Gazette, one of the first places where he'll encounter members of the Rito tribe. Fortunately, if Link solves the issues in the region, he'll keep finding its reporters in the stables and towns of Hyrule, often leading to new news stories and quests.

In the meantime, something has been creating havoc and cold weather in the northwest, and Link will need to pair up with Tulin, a young but important Rito, to ascend the peaks, head up into the sky, and locate the Wind Temple. Here, if they can overcome the scourge of the dungeon, Colgera, they'll end the blizzard afflicting the area, unlock the powers of the Sage of Wind, and be able to head elsewhere.
5. The Gorons of the Eldin Region will seem to be mind-controlled when Link arrives, a consequence of which of these?

Answer: Marble rock steaks

Other reports will point Link in the direction of the Eldin Region in the northeast, putting him on track to visit Goron City and Death Mountain, but along the way he'll come to discover that many of the local Gorons are out of sorts due to their obsession with marble rock steaks, a delicacy being mined from the caves at YunoboCo Headquarters. If Link can break the spell on Yunobo's odd mask, this Goron leader will help him out, getting him to the summit of Death Mountain to pursue an alleged vision of Princess Zelda and spurring a fight against Moragia, the beast in the crater.

All of this will lead down into the depths where the Fire Temple, the lost city of Gorondia, will be waiting, and at the end of this, if Link defeats the Marbled Gohma, the area will be rid of the mysterious marbled rocks once and for all. Yunobo will become the Sage of Fire as well, fortunately.
6. Who is Zora Prince Sidon's wife?

Answer: Yona

The Lanayru Region in the east contains the Zora's Domain, and with that, Link will need to venture up the Zora River through a rather messy ongoing event. As it turns out, the area has been victim to an ongoing sludge problem, mucking the outlying area and its waterways up completely. In addition to finding his way to the area and locating Prince Sidon, the inevitable Sage of Water, he'll need to address the problem, locate the missing King Donephan, unlock the route to the Water Temple via the Ancient Waterworks, and ascend into the sky via a created waterfall.

If Link can restore the Water Temple's faucets he'll be able to fight Mucktorok, the boss responsible for being a nuisance in the area, and restore the region's crystal-clear waters, saving the Zoras and allowing King Donephan to confidently hand his throne over to Sidon and Yona.
7. The Lightning Temple is found in which of these environments?

Answer: Desert

The Gerudo Desert, found in the southwest of Hyrule, is home to the fourth Regional Phenomenon and Link will be directed that way through the canyons to find a region of daytime heat, severely cold nights, and constant storms. Worse, something in the sands seems to be creating physically-resistant creatures that keep the Gerudo people in hiding. Link will need to locate Riju, the leader of the Gerudo, to utilize her lightning powers, mount defenses for both Kara Kara Bazaar and Gerudo Town, and hunt for the source of the problem in the desert sands.

The Lightning Temple itself will rise from the sands once Link and Riju find the way there, and it will commence a couple of fights against the Queen Gibdo, all while Link unlocks his way to the top of the pyramid dungeon. When it's all said and done, the threats in the region will conclude and Riju will become the Sage of Lightning.
8. The key to finding the Spirit Temple lays in the Ring Ruins, and these can be explored, alongside the Zonai Survey Team, in which location?

Answer: Kakariko Village

It's a long and variable path to get to the Spirit Temple as Link will have to pursue a series of obstacles pertaining to the fabled Zonai Ruins that will take him to Kakariko Village, the Faron Woods, the otherwise hidden Thunderhead and Dragonhead Islands in the sky, and the Construct Factory in the Depths. All of this will be with the aim to reunite all the pieces of a construct that can be inhabited by the fifth Sage, the Zonai known as Mineru, who appears to have been residing in the Purah Pad this whole time.

At the end of this quest, once all of the construct pieces have come together, you can ride atop the newly-formed Sage, proceed to the Spirit Temple, and fight a Gloom-infused construct for the final Sacred Stone.
9. Is the Master Sword found in the Great Deku Tree's possession?

Answer: No

Although, at one point, the Master Sword was held with the Great Deku Tree in order to absorb his sacred power, the missing weapon is no longer there-- a fact Link won't discover until he's found his way into the Korok Forest and helped the massive tree get over its Gloom problem. The Great Deku Tree will, instead, help Link locate the Master Sword by honing in on its power, indicating that it's floating around in the skies above Hyrule.

Link will deduce that the moving target is actually on the back of the Light Dragon, a creature that, at this point, could be determined to be Princess Zelda herself. If he can get onto the dragon, he can attempt to take the now-recharged sword and be as ready as possible, at least weapon-wise, for the final fight.
10. Who, of these, will aid Link in the battle against the Demon Dragon?

Answer: Princess Zelda

Once Link is ready, he can descend into the chasm below Hyrule Castle and move through the Imprisoning Chamber to Gloom's Lair, the final arena in which Ganondorf has been waiting for a battle. It'll lead to a battle against his army and then himself (done in distinct phases), but if Link can come out victorious, it'll all lead to one more fight in amongst the Sky Islands over Hyrule, a consequence of Ganondorf consuming his Sacred Stone and becoming a Demon Dragon.

Link can fight back against the Demon Dragon by attacking four spots on its back (and one on its head), and this can be done with support from the Light Dragon who'll ensure he both never falls to the ground completely and that he can maneuver above the target.

Once Link destroys Ganondorf's Sacred Stone, he'll destroy the evil, be able to transform Princess Zelda back to her normal self, and save Hyrule once and for all.
