Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. If you follow the recommendations of those in Lookout Landing, you'll head which direction to follow the regional phenomena to the Lanayru Wetlands?

Answer: East

Both the Fire Temple and the Water Temple will send Link eastward from Lookout Landing, the former taking him through the Faron Woods towards Death Mountain and the latter taking him along the rivers and lakes of the Lanayru Wetlands until eventually coming across Zora's Domain.

As soon as Link hits the fork in the road that takes him to Zora's River, it'll become apparent that something is amiss because much of the route, all the way to the Zora Kingdom, will be covered in a thick, sticky sludge. It's probably a sign of something wrong.
2. Which of these will dissolve the sludge that's found around the Zora's Domain?

Answer: Water

The muddy sludge will be encountered as early as Inogo Bridge, all the way down Zora River, and it will be seen dropping from the sky on many occasions, giving the impression what whatever you need to do to stop it will involve heading up there at some point. The problem is that getting to the right spot is difficult, even if you approach from the air, due to the positioning of everything above the region's lakes.

Getting through the sludge can be tough, but it can be washed away with clean water. Fortunately, Link can amass a lot of Splash Fruit along the river, and tossing these at the sludge will clear it quickly.

Link should first head to Zora's Domain, clean up the statue of Prince Sidon in the town's courtyard, and meet Yona, the caretaker to the Zoras. She'll point Link in the right directions.
3. The Zora Armor is a great aid in Link's adventure with the Zoras. It allows Link to swim in which of these?

Answer: Waterfalls

In the past, Link entrusted the Zoras of the Domain to repair his Zora Armor, and it appears he might need to help them make good on that. Yona will indicate that it can be repaired if they have the scales of an Ancient Arowana, a fish that very few can seem to locate (though Dento the blacksmith will give insight, and some can be found on Great Sky Island).

Handing over the fish will solve the issue, allowing Yona to finish the mending, give over the Zora Armor, and allow Link to swim up the region's waterfalls with ease provided they aren't caked in dangerous sludge. Unless Yona is meeting with Prince Sidon, she'll typically be found in the Domain's infirmary going forward.
4. Prince Sidon has sent his historian, Jiahto, to investigate the upheaval. Which of these will provide clues as to how to reach the Water Temple?

Answer: A massive stone slate

Prince Sidon, who can be found at Mipha Court at the top of Ploymous Mountain, will be thrilled to reunite with Link when he arrives there, but he'll indicate that he can't leave his post as it's on him to prevent the sludge from reaching Zora's Domain, setting off a cascade of dangerous and life-threatening issues for his people.

What he does is he tells Link to locate Jiahto, nearby at Toto Lake, to ask about findings into his investigation into the Upheaval, and when Link arrives, he'll have to locate and help him decipher the riddle behind a strange stone slate hidden in a nearby cavern. It will lead Link on a bit of a scavenger hunt through the region, but it will end with finding the way to the next dungeon.
5. To lead the way, Link must head to "the land of the sky fish", firing "the mark of the king" at which of these?

Answer: A floating rock in the shape of a droplet

The clues will direct link to find King Dorephan, hiding in his pristine Sanctuary behind a local waterfall having been injured during a battle with a sludge monster, and he'll suggest that "the mark of the king" Link requires is his own scales; he'll hand over five.

Link will, next, need to head to the sky to find "the land of the sky fish" and the "floating rock in the shape of a droplet." It'll mean locating a means through which he can ascend to the fish-shaped rock near Mipha Court (possibly with a nearby balloon?), locating the tear-shaped outline made of stone, and shooting an arrow that has a King's Scale affixed through it. It'll create a pillar of light from the East Reservoir Lake that shoots up into the sky.

The plot thickens!
6. The Ambusher of the Mipha Court is which of these, covered in sludge?

Answer: A Like-Like

Once Link has created the pillar of light in East Reservoir Lake, a quick chat with Prince Sidon and Lady Yona will lead them to the conclusion that Sidon should accompany Link into the sky to solve the sludge problem once and for all.

Despite these great developments, the discussion will be interrupted by Sludge-Like, the Ambusher of Mipha Court. Just like a regular Like-Like, this foe can be defeated by striking the orb within its toothy maw, only this time, you'll be likely to douse it in water to clear its dangerous outer layer (and its projectiles). Sidon will lend his powers, allowing Link to shield himself from harm with a watery orb, to prevent him from being enveloped by the sludge, and when the foe is defeated, they can head out.
7. Sidon will create a whirlpool that brings Link down into the Ancient Zora Waterworks, but his real destination, to find the Water Temple, is which of these?

Answer: In the sky

Once Sidon is onboard, he'll direct Link to meet him at an island in the middle of East Reservoir Lake, which supplies Zora's Domain with its main sources of water (dropping in from high above), and there he'll create a whirlpool that Link can use to descend into the caverns of the Ancient Zora Waterworks. Here, Link will need to find his way to the control unit that turns on a waterfall from the sky, the 'watery bridge' indicated from the broken slate.

Climbing the waterfall up, Link and Sidon will have one last expanse to cross-- the broken islands of Wellspring Island, where they'll face lower gravity-- splitting up to find the source of the sludge and the entrance to the Water Temple at long last.
8. How many faucets does Link need to open in the Water Temple?

Answer: Four

Link will eventually be able to enter and attempt to activate the Water Temple, the Great Wellspring of Hyrule, but the source of the sludge needs a bit more work to be stopped. A series of five faucets sits overtop of the offending creature, but only one of them will be turned on. This means that Link will need to navigate the floating islands, find the nine waterwheels scattered throughout, and open them to open the water faucets, filling the cisterns beneath them to be able to dump them on the boss.

To activate the water wheels, Link needs to make use of Sidon's ability, covering himself in water and slashing to send a wave out in front.
9. Which, of these, is the Scourge of the Water Temple?

Answer: Mucktorok

Although each of these is the boss of their respective temples, Mucktorok is the cause of the sludge in the Lanayru Region and appears as the nuisance Scourge of the Water Temple, emerging from its spot near the main arena of the dungeon once the water has dropped on it to stake its claim.

For the first half of this battle, the boss will transform into a Sludge Shark and attack Link in wide sweeps. Hitting it with water to clear the sludge and then taking swings at it is a winning strategy.

Halfway through the battle, Mucktorok's strategy will shift and it will decide to cover much of the arena in sludge, hindering Link before it leaps into the air to move around. The easiest way to get a hit in on it is to slow down time, taking to the air a bit to aim an arrow and bring it down to keep

Eventutually, when the boss' health is gone, it'll explode in sludge and fire and be done with.
10. Upon completion of the Water Temple, which of these events will occur?

Answer: Sidon will be crowned prince

Immediately after Mucktorok is defeated, things will unfold very quickly. Prince Sidon will receive his ancestor's sacred stone, as one might expect (from the earlier temples), while his ancestor, a Zora warrior and Sage of Water, will explain Rauru's sacrifice to stop the Demon King during his last appearance. Fortunately, Sidon is all too eager to take up the mantle, amplifying his powers with the artifact. Link will, in turn, receive the Vow of Sidon, Sage of Water.

On terra firma, King Dorephan will heal from the Sludge Like's wounds when the waters of Zora's Domain clear up, and that will happen almost immediately after the Water Temple is filtered out. He'll pass the crown to Prince Sidon who, in a formal ceremony, will inherit the title and make Yona his queen.
