Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Pursuing the Regional Phenomena of Death Mountain will likely have you pass through which of these locations, the closest to the region?

Answer: Woodland Stable

Anyone suggesting you investigate Death Mountain will point you in the direction of Woodland Stable, due east of Lookout Landing in Central Hyrule. The trip there will allow you to pass over towards Eldin Canyon and, heading that way, you'll likely notice a change in scenery as the grasslands give way to rocky foothills and then craggy mountains. Woodland Stable is an easy hub since it not only starts a number of interesting side-quests (allowing you to access a Great Fairy Fountain, for instance), but acts as home base for a handful of people who know the region quite well. All the other options are either much further east or, in the case of Faron Woods, much more further south.
2. Travelling up Death Mountain, especially into its caves, will require you have resistance to which of these elements?

Answer: Heat

Death Mountain is hot, and it should be very apparent from the fact that it is (and has been) an active volcanic peak. Locals, especially those near its base, will inform Link of the fact that heat-resistance will go a long way for anyone hoping to ascend to Goron City near the summit.

This being said, the mountain isn't as dangerous as it once was, having been quelled during "Breath of the Wild". Link will be able to navigate to a high altitude without concern. He will, however, require heat-resistant clothing or elixirs to go into the extensive caves along the route.

He would also do good to remember that wooden weaponry doesn't heat up all too well.
3. Something strange is affecting the Gorons of Death Mountain, and it might have something to do with which dish, harvested and cooked from the region's caves?

Answer: Marbled Rock Roast

By the time Link reaches the Bedrock Bistro partway up Death Mountain's path, he's likely to find at least a couple of Gorons who are acting out of sorts. Characterized by glowing eyes, these Gorons will be found to have eaten Marbled Rock Roast, a local dish created using very specific rocks found in the region's caves, and determining why this is a problem is part of his investigation into the phenomena of Death Mountain.

As it turns out, it's addictive, an effect brought on by the Gloom infused into it by the recent Upheaval.
4. The President of YunoboCo, Yunobo, will be found with what odd accessory controlling his actions?

Answer: Mask

Once Link reaches the Goron City, he'll come to discover that Yunobo, who he's there to meet, has been mining the Marbled Rock Roasts, and that won't bode all too well since he's President of YunoboCo. He'll head off to YunoboCo HQ nearby and Link will need to pursue him across to the cave where he's working to talk some sense into him.

What will result is a battle in which the Clearly-Not-Himself Yunobo will hurl himself at Link, attempting to strike due to visions and an attitude change brought on by a golden mask he's been forced to wear. If Link can hit him three times, the mask will break and he'll accompany Link going forward. The only way to break the red 'marbled rocks' all around Death Valley is with Yunobo's help.
5. All throughout the Gorons' territory, Link will be able to move himself around via which unique means of transportation, devised to help the local industry?

Answer: Mine cart

Yunobo will explain that the only way to solve the mystery plaguing the reason is to ascend Death Mountain because, after a red haze spouted out the top of the peak, he went to investigate only to find Princess Zelda. She gave him the dangerous mask. He'll commission Link to help him get to the bottom of things.

To do this, the easiest way will be to grab hold of some of the mine carts located around the base of the mountain. Some of these tracks will wind their way counter-clockwise up Death Mountain, all the way up to the crater, and by fusing a fan to the back of one, you can propel yourself to the spot you want to be down the tracks. This will be a near-necessity going into the Fire Temple later on.
6. The crater of Death Mountain, upon first visit, will be the home of what unique and dangerous three-headed foe?

Answer: Moragia

Arriving near the summit of Death Mountain, Yunobo will indicate exactly where he saw Princess Zelda and advance towards the crater moments before an eruption lets loose, allowing the creature within to emerge and attack. This massive three-headed being, made from marbled rock, is given the name Moragia and launches massive projectiles into the sky, so naturally, the only solution is to destroy it.

Using a powered glider and Ultrahand, Link can fly up into the sky and blast Yunobo at the foe, destroying each of the three heads to break it apart once and for all and creating a chasm down into the Depths.
7. Technically, the Fire Temple is located in the Depths. This dungeon is actually what fabled lost city?

Answer: Gordonia

Yunobo will lead the way into the Death Mountain Crater and you'll end up in the Depths alongside him when you plummet into the chasm formed in Hyrule's highest peak, and landing there will put you quite close to the doorstep of the Fire Temple, better known as the Gorons' Lost City, Gordonia, which some of the locals on the surface will reference as some sort of El Dorado.

The massive series of structures here will be empty of virtually all living inhabitants, but it will contain hazards nonetheless, and Link will need to navigate numerous adjustable mine cart tracks to reach the spots he must to get through.
8. How many locks does Link need to open to be granted passage to the boss lair in the Fire Temple?

Answer: Five

The entry hall of the Fire Temple will make the objective quite clear. There's one massive gate blocking the way Link and Yunobo need to go, and despite Link's ability to operate the console to open the door, there are five colossal locks keeping the door shut, and all five of them need to be deactivated in order for them to advance and follow the apparition of Princess Zelda inside.

Zelda, or what appears to be her, will be trapped by a series of large, marbled rocks and brought to the ceiling. They just need to get inside to attempt to break through. It'll mean ringing five big gongs positioned on the temple's five floors.
9. The weak point of the Marbled Gohma, the Scourge of the Fire Temple, is which of these?

Answer: Its eye

Once Link and Yunobo get into the final chamber and blast away the marbled rocks on the ceiling, they'll discover that the rocks are actually the carapace of the Scourge of the Fire Temple, the Marbled Gohma, and the boss battle will ensue. To defeat this foe, Link needs to leverage Yunobo pretty significantly, sending him up the curved walls of the room to strike the massive creature's rocky legs, shattering them and bringing the boss falling to the floor below.

This is when Link can climb on top and slash away at the boss' eye, its only true weak point. Hitting it enough will cause it to explode in a ball of fire.
10. Completion of the Fire Temple will save the Gorons and allow Yunobo, as the Sage of Fire, to support Link from a distance. His ability allows Link to do which of the following?

Answer: Fire the Goron as a rolling projectile

Defeating the Marbled Gohma will reveal the secret stone that was once possessed by Yunobo's ancestor, one of the protectors of the First King of Hyrule and the Sage of Fire. The duty of protecting the Gorons will fall to Yunobo who, nervously, will take up the mantle to avoid letting anyone down. It will ultimately grant Yunobo the power to become the new Sage of Fire, assisting Link from a distance while he maintains the safety of his people from home.

Doing this will allow Link to use the Vow of Yunobo, Sage of Fire, giving him the sage's projectile roll attack going forward. All of the marble rock steaks will mysteriously vanish from the Death Mountain area as well, saving Goron City from their mind control once and for all. Mission accomplished!
