Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. With or without fellow police officer Lieutenant Belica in tow, Murdock is ready to flag down enemy Heroes in the name of the law. Given that a police officer colleague of Murdock's is in the game, it's worth wondering how similar their kits may be. Is Murdock recommended by Omeda Studios for the same role(s) as Lt. Belica?

Answer: No

They may both be cops, but it's pretty clear that they must have received different training from one another, as their recommended roles are practically night and day. Murdock is a Carry, while Belica is recommended for the Midlane and Support roles.

It is entirely possible that a well-built team features a Murdock Carry alongside a Belica Support in the Duo Lane. So the two cops can easily and effectively work together if so desired.

As well, since Belica can go Midlane too, the two police officers can highlight the majority of a well-built team's damage output as well, with Murdock offering the Physical power of a Carry and Belica wielding the Magical power of a Midlaner.
2. Murdock is recommended for the Carry role by Omeda Studios. As such, his stat build is hardly surprising. What is Murdock's highest stat?

Answer: Basic Attack Power

At the end of the day, Carry characters are generally Basic Attack power focused, so Basic Attack Power will typically be a Carry's best stat. As well, there are no Carry characters who have good Durability, so they will drop like flies under heavy fire. Murdock is not the exception to either of these rules.

Murdock's Ability kit is generally considered to be fairly strong. It offers him some excellent Mobility options to escape a tough situation with, while also giving Murdock the raw power he needs to be an effective Carry.

Murdock's unusually Mobility-focused Ability kit has prompted players to try taking him to the Offlane, where he has seen significant use. That said, Offlane Murdock has become a notorious 'noob stomper' over the years that consistently falters when played against decent or even passable players using traditional Offlaners. He deals Physical damage, making it difficult for him to properly pressure tanky Offlaners such as Grux, Steel or Greystone who build specifically to tank Physical hits. It can kind of work if Murdock is not facing a Tank, but even then he is highly susceptible to being ganked by the enemy Jungler. Remember that Murdock's Durability is very poor, and as an Offlaner, he would not have an allied Support to help protect him unlike his recommended role as a Carry.

As always, any player skilled enough could theoretically make even the dumbest character/role choice work. But typically, playing a character outside of a role they're recommended for means you will be at a disadvantage.
3. Murdock's Passive is the aptly named Shots Fired, rewarding the player for precision. In return for landing five successful Basic Attacks, the sixth and very next one attempted will gain a buff of what, other than added damage?

Answer: Range

The range increase on the sixth shot will be 400 units. Murdock, like other ranged characters, has a Basic Attack range of 1400 units, so this is a brief range increase of just over 25%. This can be crucial to helping Murdock gun down a fleeing foe, or perhaps win a shootout with a foe, especially in conjunction with his Mobility focused Abilities.
4. Buckshot is Murdock's Alternate Ability. This one rewards aggressive Murdock players, giving him a powerful blast from his shotgun. Which of the following is true?

Answer: Closer ranged enemies = more damage

As this is a shotgun, it stands to reason it would deal more damage closer up than far away. As well, it applies Shred for a few seconds, which Murdock would have an easier time capitalizing on if he's up close.
5. Static Trap is Murdock's Primary Ability. This lets Murdock set traps which inflict those who step into them with Root. How many traps can Murdock hold at once?

Answer: Two

Each trap will remain armed for forty seconds. Murdock can set out up to five at a time, after which the oldest trap would fade away upon a would-be sixth being set out.
6. Hot Pursuit is Murdock's Secondary Ability, granting him added movement speed on use. The movement speed can be used to flee, or it can be used to run down escapees. The movement speed is supplemented by a second buff Hot Pursuit can grant. What buff?

Answer: Attack Speed

The added Attack Speed has pretty clear application in running down a fleeing, possibly dodging enemy. Combined with Shots Fired potentially giving Murdock a brief range increase, Murdock can be difficult to elude. Pretty fitting for a character bent on taking down criminals as a police officer.
7. Murdock's Ultimate Ability is Long Arm of the Law. This Ability is known for piercing Terrain, letting Murdock easily snipe unsuspecting targets. How much range does it have?

Answer: Infinite

This is one of few Abilities with unlimited range. Since it can pierce Terrain as well, Murdock is capable of sniping anyone from anywhere on the map. This can be very useful for assisting a teammate; if a teammate is locked in a 1-on-1 that could go either way, Murdock's Long Arm of the Law can save the day for his teammate.

This Ability does require a fair bit of precision, as Murdock can't adjust his aim once he pulls the trigger, and he can only take the shot once before it goes on a hefty cooldown, as any Ultimate would. As such, though its effect can be devastating, it does require a fair bit of skill to use correctly.
8. Like all Heroes, Murdock may choose from one of three Hero Augments. His first choice is Sting Operation, enhancing his Static Trap Ability. What is one benefit?

Answer: Additional traps

Murdock gains two additional traps, which are also slightly larger in width. The main application for this would be if the player anticipates dealing with an extremely aggressive Jungler, such as Khaimera, Kallari or Serath. With this Augment, Murdock could set traps in front of the Jungle fog wall and more easily maintain them, making it harder for the enemy Jungler to arrive unannounced.
9. Justice's Reach is Murdock's second Augment, supplementing his Shots Fired Passive. It gives Shots Fired added range, along with an added benefit to the payload shot. What is this benefit?

Answer: Piercing

The sixth shot supplemented through Shots Fired will now pierce units, letting it hit multiple enemies at once. This can let Murdock simultaneously take minion CS and poke at enemies. It could also come in handy during a team fight.
10. Martial Law is Murdock's final choice for an Augment, rewarding timely use of Long Arm of the Law. It increases Long Arm of the Law's damage output, and gives Murdock an added reward if he manages a kill with it. What is that added reward?

Answer: Extra Gold

The added Gold is 50, which is pretty significant. The added damage output to Long Arm of the Law, by itself, makes this Augment worth using. But the added gold on kill is a really nice touch.
