Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Steel is such a classic that he was the central hero on the cover of the late "Paragon", even making a cameo appearance in "Fortnite" as the game's representation. In this game, he is recommended for two roles. What is one?

Answer: Offlane

Steel is the tankiest character in the entire game, so he's unsurprisingly more than self efficate enough to handle the Offlane. His tanky, protective nature extends to also making him a fantastic Support, as the single best option to body block/take hits for a Carry and keep them safe.

Interestingly, despite not recommending him for the Jungle role, Omeda Studios has publicly commented that they have intended to make Steel viable for this role. Patch balancing decisions have been taken with the explicit goal of making Steel work in this role.

Unfortunately, for as tanky as Steel is, his damage output is not very good, so he struggles to clear jungle camps in a timely enough manner. Omeda themselves has even commented on this being a difficult impediment towards making Steel work in the Jungle as, if they buff his damage output to make him work for the Jungle, in their estimation, they risk making him too overpowered specifically as a Support.
2. Steel's highest stat should come as an absolute shock... if you've never played this game, heard his name or actually bothered to look at the man for two seconds. What is Steel's highest stat?

Answer: Durability

I mean, come on, how could it have been anything else?

Unfortunately, the rest of Steel's stats are somewhat lacking. He does have a pretty solid 5 for Mobility, which does have its use as a Support or Offlaner. That said, Steel is going to be in trouble if ever relied on to do actually good damage, as his 1 in Basic Attack Power and 3 in Ability Power make this difficult.
3. Steel's Passive is Cybernetic Shell, further enhancing his already ridiculous survivability. If Steel goes awhile without taking any damage, this Passive rewards him, but how?

Answer: By giving him a shield

The shield is worth exactly 7% of his maximum HP which, of course, will be growing quite a lot throughout the average match.

In addition, whether the shield is up or not, Cybernetic Shell just straight up takes Steel's Armor and increases it. This aspect of the Passive will always remain active, unless Steel is ever Suppressed by one of the three things in the entire game that can actually do that.
4. Steel's Alternate Ability is Shield Bash, affectionately known by the community as "the backhand" due to its animation. When backhanding foes, other than taking damage, what will happen to them?

Answer: They are Stunned

The animation plays out surprisingly fast when Shield Bash is used, making it great for Steel to box out close quarters foes with. It has a short cooldown, fast animation speed, and reasonable mana cost, making it a strong overall Ability.
5. Steel's Primary Ability is Bull Rush. When using it, Steel charges forward and blows past any enemies in his path. Like Shield Bash, this also afflicts a nasty status effect. What one is it?

Answer: Knock Back

Knock Back and Knock Up are typically viewed as the most impactful statuses in the game due to the fact that they uniquely cannot be cleansed away. Bull Rush can open up an array of opportunities for Steel's allies to deal damage, as it can hit multiple foes.

It's also a great tool to both initiate a conflict with, and escape one that is going south with how much distance Steel can quickly cover using it.
6. Steel's Alternate Ability is Force Shield. This Ability promises that it blocks all projectiles which, sadly, isn't quite true. Which character of the following possesses a projectiles that goes right through Force Shield?

Answer: Gadget

Literally all of Gadget's Abilities, minus her Basic Attack, ignore Force Shield like it isn't even there. Most Ultimate Abilities can do this as well, but some such as Sparrow's Inner Fire or Skylar's Atomiser are blocked entirely by it.

In general, Force Shield is extremely useful and can block quite an impressive array of projectiles. The player just needs to be wary that the description for it in-game isn't completely accurate.
7. Steel's Ultimate Ability is Shield Slam. This is yet another status afflicting, utility laden attack which, unsurprisingly, afflicts victims with a nasty effect. What status?

Answer: Knock Up

As with Bull Rush's Knock Back, Shield Slam's Knock Up can be quite deadly due to the status being un-cleansable. Steel can very easily combo these two Abilities into each other, potentially throwing Shield Bash's Stun into the combo, and basically make opponents put their controllers down for at least several seconds. Longer, maybe, if Steel's ally or allies are able to take advantage of all this forced down time to kill them.
8. Steel has to choose one of three Hero Augments. His first choice is Colossal Crash, giving more range and a new status effect to which of Steel's Abilities?

Answer: Shield Slam

Instead of Knocking Up as usual, this Augment will cause Shield Slam to Knock Back. It also increases the range at which Steel can Shield Slam, and increase the radius of the slam itself.

Overall, this is not a bad Augment. Whether or not going from Knock Up to Knock Back is actually good is debatable at times. But the added range and radius are certainly quite useful.
9. Bulldozer is Steel's second Augment, impacting Bull Rush. Specifically, when using it, Steel himself will now gain an unbelievably helpful status effect. What status is that?

Answer: Unstoppable

Unstoppable means that Steel will be briefly and completely immune to all Crowd Control while he is using Bullrush.

This Augment is amazing, easily Steel's best in any and all contexts and vastly outclassing his other two choices. CC Immunity is extremely coveted, and Steel can obtain it on demand with this Augment. This helps immensely for Steel to both initiate and escape conflict, as enemies won't be able to halt his advance through any means, and they won't be able to stop him from escaping either should the need arise.
10. Adaptive Force is Steel's final Augment. This grants him a second Force Shield he can put up before the Ability goes on cooldown, but at quite a massive cost. What is the drawback to choosing this Augment?

Answer: Force Shield is smaller

There's no simpler way to say it than this: this Augment sucks. It reduces the width of Force Shield itself by 70%, making it tiny and completely fail to do its one job of blocking projectiles. Enemies can now simply walk a couple of steps to the left and right and merrily take potshots at whatever Steel was trying to protect, as the Force Shield simply becomes too small, even with the ability to use a second one in conjunction with it.

On top of all of this, choosing this Augment means you cannot choose the Bulldozer Augment which, quite frankly, is on another planet of usefulness from this one.

Please do not ever choose this Augment on Steel if your goal is to win a game.
