Answer:
Walking on water
After Jesus performed the miracle of feeding the 5,000, He sends his disciples ahead in a boat to cross the Sea of Galilee while He stays behind on the mountain to pray. The wind makes the disciples' journey difficult as they struggle against the waves. In the middle of the night, Jesus frightens His disciples by walking on the sea. Matthew tells us that Peter bravely wants to join Jesus, which at first he does successfully! However, we then read of the wind picking up, causing Peter to be afraid and begin to sink. After Peter cries out for help, Jesus is immediately there to catch the disciple and help him back into the boat. The account of Jesus walking on water is also told in the Gospels of Mark and John, although in these accounts Peter does not leave the boat. As soon as Jesus enters the boat the sea is calmed, and the disciples are safe. (Mt 14:22-34, Mk 6:45-53, and Jn 6:15-21)
