The first game in the title was released in December 2009, using pigs as the enemies due to the prominent swine flu epidemic at the time. In this mainstream mobile puzzle game, players used a slingshot to propel a limited number of birds per level into pigs or their structures. The success of the title launched a franchise including titles such as 'Angry Birds Rio', 'Angry Birds Friends' and 'Angry Birds Epic'.

Miles 'Tails' Prower first appeared in 1992 as an unplayable character in 'Sonic the Hedgehog 2' for the Sega Master System and Game Gear consoles (both 8-bit systems). He became a playable character when the same game was released later that year for the more powerful 16-bit Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis) system. Over the years the character has appeared in a whole host of games featuring Sonic as well as in his own spin-off games such as 'Tails Adventures' and the educational game 'Tails and the Music Maker' for younger children. Tails is an unusual sort of fox as he has two tails (hence his nickname) which give him the ability to fly because he can use them like a helicopter rotor. The name 'Miles Prower' is a pun based on 'miles per hour' - a nod to the fact that, like Sonic himself, he is quite speedy. Shadow and Amy Rose are hedgehogs (Sonic's arch-rival and girlfriend respectively) and Knuckles is an echidna.

In it you choose and name your dog, bring him or her home with you (or leave them in the 'dog hotel' if you've run out of space), train them, walk them, wash them, attend various competitions with them and dress them up in some slightly silly outfits bought from the local shop. In fact, pretty much everything you can do with a real-life dog... The incorrect options are all other games available for the Nintendo DS.

"Mary the Giant Cow" is exactly that. An enormous cow head that appears on the left side of the screen and fires purple bullets at the player, surrounded by giant cubes. Mary is the boss found at the end of stage C-1. If you defeat the cow, you earn the achievement "Boss Milking". "Death Smiles" (2007) is a "Bullet Hell" shoot-em-up game from the Japanese company Cave. It was released as an arcade game in 2007 and recoded for the Xbox 360 in April 2009. The other games were also released by Cave. "Ibara" (2005), "Akai Katana: (2010) and "Muchi Muchi Pork" (2007) are similar "Bullet Hell" shooters.

Released in 2010, "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow" is a reboot of the "Castlevania" series. It features Gabriel Belmont, in the year 1047, where the Lords of Shadow threaten to tear apart Earth and the Heavens, bringing about the end of days. Gabriel encounters numerous giant spiders while tracking down the pieces of the God Mask. The first of these is encountered in the remains of the Dekub Tree in the Enchanted Forest. Gabriel does more than just kill these spiders: he can subdue and ride them, and use their webbing to create bridges or pull things loose.

Meanwhile, other invertebrates, such as spiders, will make things more difficult by jumping down and trying to end your game. "Millipede" was the follow-up game to "Centipede" and was released two years later (1982). The gameplay was still fairly basic, but certain figures began to become more distinct - the millipede actually looked like a millipede!

'Assassin's Creed Odyssey' is a game in the 'Assassin's Creed' franchise and was released in 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PCs. The game is set in Ancient Greece during the time of the Peloponnesian War between the city states of Athens and Sparta. The game allows players to choose whether to play as one of two siblings with the other sibling becoming one of the main antagonists of the game. Due to this choice players can select to play as a male or female character. The game uses the third person perspective and features a large open world map. To help the player navigate this large world they are given a horse near the start of the game. When asked to select a horse the character of Marcos introduces them and implies each one has different strengths but in reality there seems to be little difference between them. Once you have selected a horse it is given the name Phobos and can be called to your side throughout the game as required.

'Breath of the Wild' was a massive open-world 2017 action-adventure game in the 'Legend of Zelda' series. Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi stated in an IGN interview that the action of petting a dog wouldn't have fitted with the design philosophy since the game used small numbers of actions in interlocking systems as opposed to specific custom actions. Nonetheless, players can bond with dogs by standing near them or feeding them, which encourages them to lead Link to buried treasure.

Inspector Carmelita Fox, an anthropomorphic vixen with long blue hair and an impressive red tail, is an employee of Interpol in the 'Sly Cooper' games - which began with the release of 'Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus' (also known as 'Sly Raccoon') for the Playstation 2 console in 2002. It is her job to apprehend the notorious title character Sly Cooper (a raccoon, unsurprisingly) and his gang of fellow thieves - a technologically minded turtle named Bentley and a powerful pink hippo called Murray. Unfortunately, Carmelita doesn't have a lot of luck with her mission to capture Sly - primarily because she develops a crush on him along the way!

Handily, the dog is pretty much immortal (although you might end up having to heal any injuries) so pet-lovers won't feel too much guilt from sending their dog off into dangerous situations. However, interacting with a pet dog is really not the main aim of 'Fable II' which takes place in a large, detailed world - giving the player the chance to simply marry and have a family, gain wealth and property or actually undertake the missions required for the plot to progress and the game to be completed. Various characters in the game are voiced by famous British actors including Stephen Fry, Julia Sawalha and Zoë Wanamaker. The incorrect options are other games that feature the voices of famous people.

"Brütal Legend", an action-strategy hybrid game, follows the story of Eddie Riggs, a roadie who one day finds himself in a fantasy world seemingly influenced by heavy metal music. Eddie uses an axe (strength) and a guitar (magic) to free humanity from Doviculus. At one point, Eddie ventures into the Lair of the Metal Queen to obtain bass strings powerful enough to heal Ophelia. The Metal Queen is a large metallic spider that attacks with chrome blasts, smaller spiders, and by slicing at Eddie. She can be damaged while in shock; after being defeated, Eddie has 1:29 to bring the bass strings back to heal Ophelia.

'The Sims 4' is the fourth major game in 'The Sims' series of games and was originally released for PC and Mac in 2015, with versions for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles released in 2017.
