Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Kyle is trapped in a video game as a barrel-throwing gorilla. A man who likes to jump is making his way up, to reach a woman in pink. Which video game ape is Kyle?

Answer: Donkey Kong

Along with Mario and Link, Donkey Kong is one of Nintendo's most popular and recognizable characters. Making his first appearance in the 1981 eponymous game
(the game in which we were introduced to Mario too), Donkey Kong has appeared in a number of games and spin-offs, most notably "Donkey Kong Country" and in the "Super Smash Bros." and "Mario Kart" series.
2. Having just escaped the first game, Kyle quickly finds himself in another, this time galloping across a great field with a green tunic-wearing swordsman-cum-archer on his back. Do you know which video game animal Kyle is now?

Answer: Epona

Epona made her first appearance in the first 3D "Legend of Zelda" title, "Ocarina of Time" in 1998, as Link's faithful steed. Epona is usually used by Link to traverse the great fields of Hyrule where running would take significantly longer. Link is taught "Epona's Song" by Malon at Lon Lon Ranch in "Ocarina of Time", which allows him to summon Epona whenever he plays the song on the ocarina.

In "Twilight Princess", Link can summon Epona by playing a song on reeds found throughout Hyrule.
3. Phew! All that running has exhausted Kyle, but he's still trapped! Everything is dark now, then he hears someone yell, "I choose you!" and suddenly everything is light, and Kyle finds himself face to face with a yellow electric mouse. Oh no! He knows he is now trapped in "Pokemon", but he can't remember which one he is! He lets out a bark. Which Fire-type dog Pokemon (the first in its evolution chain) from first generation games is Kyle now?

Answer: Growlithe

The first instance of a dog-like Pokemon, Growlithe is a Fire-type Pokemon that likes to make its home in hot places, namely in scorched plains and near volcanoes. If Growlithe is exposed to a Fire Stone, it will evolve into Arcanine. Arcanine is a much larger version of Arcanine, and as such, will still be a Fire-type.
4. After narrowly missing a huge Thunderbolt, Kyle finds himself underground. Burrowing his way to the surface, he makes out the outline of a brown bear and a red bird. After adjusting his spectacles and looking at his hands, Kyle surmises that he is now a mole. But which video game mole?

Answer: Bottles

Bottles the Mole plays a vital role in "Banjo-Kazooie", because it is he who teaches Banjo (and sometimes Kazooie) the moves needed to be able to accomplish tasks and eventually fight Gruntilda herself. Making his first appearance outside Banjo's house in Spiral Mountain, Bottles appears numerous times in Grunty's Lair, giving tips and advice to Banjo (whilst being bombarded by insults from Kazooie).

In "Banjo-Tooie", Bottles is tragically slain by Grunty's evil machine, B.O.B. His role in the game is taken over by his brother, Jamjars. Fortunately, Bottles is revived at the end of the game.
5. Kyle is trapped in yet another video game, this time as a turtle. A picture of a raccoon appears in front of him on a screen, and Kyle recognizes him as Sly Cooper. Now he knows who he is. Which video game turtle must Kyle be?

Answer: Bentley

Bentley is the 'gadget guy', the 'behind-the-scenes', the 'tech support' for Sly in the "Sly Cooper" games. His genius intellect and logical thinking help Sly to overcome obstacles, by hacking into computer mainframes and disabling electronic devices, for instance. Further into the series, more of Bentley's character is revealed, such as him being asthmatic and allergic to lemons and tomatoes.
6. Out of the frying pan, into the...well, no fire, but there is a frying pan, and Kyle is holding it, as he finds himself as a squirrel. With slightly blurred vision, Kyle grabs a piece of anti-gravity chocolate and chases after a wad of cash with eyes. Who might he be now?

Answer: Conker

The red squirrel with a bad mouth and a bad day ahead of him has earned a cult following since his first full adventure game, "Conker's Bad Fur Day" in 2001. After a night of heavy drinking, Conker finds himself in a strange world with some even stranger characters.

After completing a number of missions and overcoming many perils, most often parodies of films, Conker's day finally comes to an end, but with his girlfriend dead and himself begrudgingly crowned king of the land.
7. From one game to the next, Kyle now finds himself as an anthropomorphic crocodile, collecting crystals and on a quest to defeat Baron Dante. Which video game character is Kyle now?

Answer: Croc

Croc started his life as a baby crocodile found in a basket in a lake by a tribe called the Gobbos. The Gobbos raised him as one of their own, feeding him and teaching him the ways of the Gobbos. But when the evil Baron Dante kidnaps several of the Gobbos and shrinks Croc down to a smaller size, Croc must venture out and rescue his friends and defeat Dante once and for all. "Croc: Legend of the Gobbos" was released in 1997 for the PlayStation, and has enjoyed positive reviews.
8. From a crocodile to a fox now, and Kyle finds himself running along at an incredible speed. A blue hedgehog dashes by, and Kyle struggles to catch up. Who is Kyle now?

Answer: Tails

Miles "Tails" Prower is a good friend of Sonic in the "Sonic the Hedgehog" series. His name is a pun on 'miles per hour', alluding to the speed at which he can run. His nickname, Tails, refers to the fact that he has two tails, which he can use to hover in the air for a brief period of time. Despite being eight years old, Tails is a mechanic and sidekick of the familiar blue hedgehog.
9. There is quite a dramatic change in scenery as Kyle is thrust into yet another game. Finding himself in outer space in a starship (which he identifies as an Arwing), Kyle "does a barrel roll" and notices that he is a bird. Who might he be now?

Answer: Falco Lombardi

Falco is the wingman (how appropriate) of "Star Fox" protagonist Fox McCloud. Playing an important role in the Star Fox team, Falco has been known to predict the tide of battles, and is an expert pilot of Arwings. Despite this, he comes across as cocky and brash, but he stays loyal to his team. Falco has appeared in every "Star Fox" game, as well as a playable character in "Super Smash Bros. Melee" and "Super Smash Bros. Brawl".
10. Thrust into one last game, Kyle sees himself as a cat, holding a rudimentary vacuum cleaner. He finds out that this is in fact a Time Sweeper and can exert some control over time. Knowing this, he realizes which video game cat his is. Which feline character from the Xbox is Kyle?

Answer: Blinx

Blinx is the title character in the 2002 Xbox game, "Blinx: The Time Sweeper". Blinx, a worker at the Time Factory, a place that exists out of Time and regulates the flow of time across the universe, is tasked with the mission of saving Princess Lena from a temporally unstable dimension after it is corrupted by a gang of evil pigs.

The Time Sweeper possesses the ability to rewind, fast forward, pause, record, slow down and retry time. The key to completing each level is to utilize time and decide which function of the Time Sweeper to use to accomplish each goal.
