Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. On what day did Top Thrill Dragster open to the public?

Answer: May 4th, 2003

When Top Thrill Dragster opened at Cedar Point, it shocked the coaster world. The Dragster goes 120 mph in less than 4 seconds. After you get launched and go straight up 400 feet, twist, and then go over the top-hat and then you go down 400 feet and there is another spiral. The coaster is just awesome, one of the best in the world.
2. What was the Mantis originally supposed to be named?

Answer: Banshee

The public convinced Cedar Point to change the name to Mantis. It was noted that Banshee had evil connections. The Mantis is the only standing coaster at Cedar Point, and it opened in 1996. At that time, the Mantis was the tallest and fastest coaster of its kind.
3. Is part of the Millennium Force on an island?

Answer: Yes

Hills two and three and turns two and three are on the island. Millennium Force takes you up 310 feet and drops you at an 80 degree angel, 300 feet down reaching speeds of 90+ mph. I think it's the best coaster there and in the world, you just can't beat the thrill Millennium gives you.
4. How tall is Wicked Twister?

Answer: 215 feet

Wicked Twister is called an Intamin "Impulse" coaster. This means that Wicked Twister is not a full circuit coaster, but rather a U-shaped coaster. Trains are initially shot out of the station at a speed reaching 50 mph, eventually reaching speeds of 72+mph. Wicked Twister opened in 2002, it is the only double impulse coaster in the world.
5. On Disaster Transport, where are you taking a "trip" to in 1988?

Answer: Alaska

The themes on Disaster Transport have gotten poor over the years. Disaster Transport at first was not enclosed and it was called Avalanche Run. In 1990, they enclosed it and called it Disaster Transport.
6. When Gemini first opened, was it the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world?
