Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Three heroes have been the backbone of the Society's various incarnations. Who are these three old-timers?

Answer: Alan Scott, Jay Garrick, and Ted Grant

Alan Scott was the first Green Lantern and Jay Garrick was the first Flash, both heroes debuting in the 1940's. Ted Grant also appeared in the 1940's, and is widely seen as the first Wildcat.
2. Tom Bronson is the son of which famous hero?

Answer: Wildcat

Tom is Ted Grant's son from a one-night stand, although this fact doesn't result in any bitterness on either man's part. Whereas Ted is a regular human who is at the peak of physical health, Tom can transform into a werecat.
3. What is Maxine Hunkel's codename?

Answer: Cyclone

Maxine is the granddaughter of "Ma" Hunkel, the original Red Tornado. Having wind manipulation powers, she called herself Cyclone and idolizes Stargirl.
4. Damage's face was horribly scarred in a battle with whom?

Answer: Zoom

Zoom is Hunter Zolomon, mainly a Flash villain. A criminal profiler, he was injured in a case and used a cane to walk. He was transformed into Zoom, a time-travelling villain with super-speed.
5. Rick Tyler has been married to which other Society member?

Answer: Liberty Belle

Liberty Belle is actually Jesse Chambers, who has also used the moniker Jesse Quick. She is the daughter of Johnny Chambers, known as Johnny Quick, and Libby Lawrence, the first Libert Belle. She has super-speed and super-strength as well.
6. Where is Jakeem Thunder from?

Answer: Keystone City

Jakeem is one of the people who have had control over a magical thunderbolt first partnered with Johnny Thunder in the 1940's. Jakeem is an African-American teenager who found a friend in Stargirl.
7. When Captain Marvel dated Stargirl, the union was looked upon favorably.

Answer: False

While many heroes approved or simply looked the other way, Jay Garrick took issue with the relationship. Stargirl is a teenager, while Captain Marvel is a grown man. Billy Batson, the alter ego of Captain Marvel, is a teenager also, but he chose not to reveal his identity and instead left Stargirl.
8. Atom-Smasher is a growing superhero, literally. He also has super-strength. What was his original alter ego?

Answer: Nuklon

Albert Rothstein is the godson of Al Pratt, the original Atom. He has served with the Justice League of America, during which he dated Fire, and later began a relationship with Stargirl.
9. Starman and Stargirl both served with the Justice Society of America. Are they related?

Answer: No

Stargirl is Courtney Whitmore, who has enhanced speed, strength, and durability. Jack Knight gave her the Cosmic Rod, at which point she changed her heroic moniker from Star-Spangled Kid to Stargirl. A member of the Knight family has usually taken on the Starman role, although the time-displaced Thom Kallor has used it also.
10. Who helped Maxine Hunkel pick out her costume?

Answer: Stargirl

Maxine looks up to Stargirl, who notes that having the word "kid" in your codename makes everyone treat you like you're a small child. Plenty of heroes have called themselves "Kid" over the years: Kid Flash, Karate Kid, Kid Eternity, and the Star-Spangled Kid to name just a few.
