Answer: Glaciers of the ice ages

The terrain results from the ravages of the ice ages. Crags and mountainous peaks add a wild majesty to the terrain. Swiss geologist Louis Agassiz became convinced that glaciers had existed in places other than high mountains and were part of a great ice age. Agassiz was influenced by the land formations of the West Highlands, especially the Glen Roy area.

According to the book "Sawney Bean: Dissecting the Legend of Scotland's Infamous Cannibal Killer Family" by Blaine Pardoe, Scottish legend has it that cannibalism was apparently a Bean family tradition. According to Pardoe, the family was discovered after a number of disappearances of travelers in certain areas.

After searching, 48 members were found in a cave with various pickled human body parts. They were captured and taken to Edinburgh where King James I ordered all members of the family put to death.

Mary Stuart was born in 1542, just a few days before the death of her father, King James V of Scotland. After his death, she was Queen of Scotland with her mother acting as regent. She was forced to abdicate in 1567 by Scottish nobles.
