The brolga is one of the two types of cranes that are found in Australia.
2. In which Olympics were women first allowed to compete in track-and-field events?

Answer: 1928 Amsterdam

In 1928 there were five track-and-field events for women at these Olympics including the 800 meter race. After this race several contestants collapsed. As a result it was decided that women didn't have the endurance to compete in races more than 200 meters and it wasn't until 1964 that a longer race, the 400 meter race, appeared.
3. L. Frank Baum wrote 14 novels about the World of Oz. Which of the following was NOT one of them?

Answer: The Cowardly Lion of Oz

Lyman Frank Baum was born in 1856 in Chittenango, NY. The first of Baum's Oz books, 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz', was published in 1900. The last book was 'Glinda of Oz'. It was published in 1920, a year after Baum's death.
