Answer: Laszlo Biro

Although they seem to have been around forever, Biro didn't file his patent until 1938 in Paris and 1943 in the U.S.A.. Following the U.S. patent it was quickly licensed for UK production for the RAF who found the new biros worked much better at altitude than fountain pens.

In 1965, Italian Marcel Bich bought the patent from Biro and started making Bic ballpoint pens. Sheaffer was an American who patented the lever filling fountain pen and Petroczy was a Hungarian helicopter pioneer.
5. What colours can be found on the official tricolour flag of Hungary?

Answer: Red, White, Green

This flag was adopted in 1956, following the downfall of communism in the country, and replacing the previous flag which was the same colour scheme but with the communist coat-of-arms in the centre. There is a variant to the current flag, which depicts the Hungarian coat-of-arms in the centre, but though it is widely used, it is not the official flag.

The area around Balaton is a major wine producing region and makes some wonderful Merlot.
9. The tasty Hungarian snack of Quark (soured milk cheese curd) covered in chocolate is called what?

Answer: Turo Rudi

Turo Rudi comes in a variety of fruit flavours and is available with either milk or dark chocolate covering. Very moreish. Dobos Torte is a dessert of sponge cake, chocolate and caramel. Langos is deep fried dough, normally topped with cheese and garlic. Not very healthy but totally delicious.
10. Which Hungarian uttered the following quotes; "I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man, I keep his house." and "I never hated a man enough to give him his diamonds back." as well as "I want a man who's kind and understanding. Is that too much to ask of a millionaire?"?

Answer: Zsa Zsa Gabor

Yes, the wonderful Ms Gabor that our quiz is centered around. A former "Miss Hungary", she emigrated to U.S.A. in 1941 and had a successful movie career, including the 1953 film "Moulin Rouge". Less successful perhaps was her personal life as she married nine times, the longest being her final marriage which lasted from 1986 to 2016 when she died of cardiac arrest, aged 99.
The other answers are all Hungarian actresses, but they mainly appear in adult movies.
