Germany is made up of three main regions: the North German Plain, the Central German Uplands and the Southern German Highlands. Germany's highest point is found in the Zugspitze mountains at 9,721 feet. Germany has an area of 137,847 sq mi; Montana in the US has an area of 147,042 sq mi.

Answer: Panama

Panama's famous canal was originally a French project begun in 1880. The French Canal Company, which was in charge of the dig, wound up in bankruptcy nine years later. The U.S. paid them $40 million for their rights and assets, moved the site to territory controlled by the U.S. and began construction in 1904, completing the canal in 1914.
