Harrison, after signing the documents, shuffled the papers so no one would know which was signed first. However, ND is referred to as the 39th state and South Dakota the 40th state due to alphabetical order.

Answer: Wheat

Wheat is grown in every county in ND! It is the second-largest producer in the United States, only Kansas is a greater producer. North Dakota produces half the nation's hard red spring wheat and 2/3 of the nation's durum wheat.

Answer: 400-600 billion tons

North Dakota's concentration of coal is one of the largest concentrations of solid fuel in the world. Since the late 1990's, North Dakota has been able to excavate over 30 million tons of coal a year.

Answer: Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt came to start his life over again after he lost his wife in New York. He settled down in an area close to the later-to-come city known as Medora. He also fought in the Spanish-American War and would later become the 26th President.

Amazingly enough, in 1987, North Dakota legislature passed a bill proclaiming English as the official state language.

Answer: Killdeer Mountain Roundup

The Killdeer Mountain PRCA Rodeo first started up in 1922. It is the state's oldest professional sporting event. The Killdeer Mountain Roundup used to take place in the foothills of the Killdeer Mountains but in 1955 it was moved to Killdeer. The event takes place on the 4th of July.
10. In 2006 the U.S. Mint released the North Dakota State Quarter! What's on the reverse of the ND quarter?

Answer: Two buffalo

The final two ideas for the reverse were a pair of buffalo or a pair of Canada geese. The buffalo idea was later voted in as the final image. It was the fourth quarter of five released in 2006.
