Tobruk, Libya, was scene of much fighting during World War II.The city was stormed by the British on 27.January 1941, besieged by Rommel's German troops in April 1941 and retaken by the British on 27. November 1941. The city was taken back by Rommel's troops during the last major German attack on 21.June 1942 and finally retaken by the British on 13.November 1942.

Egypt was invaded by Italians Sept.1940, but were driven out by British Dec.1940.
25. Spain and Morocco, 1956-Present.

Answer: Ceuta and Melilla

These two North African cities belong to Spain, but are claimed by Morocco. The other cities may also have been disputed, but before the independence of Morocco 1956. Tangier had international status up to 1956, but was then included in French Morocco, which gained independence as Morocco 1956. Spanish Morocco was included 1958.
