Answer: America vs. Britain

This was Great Britain's and America's first huge conflict. It was a very bloody and costly war, taking not only money but also thousands of lives.
2. The Battle of Bunker Hill is, perhaps, the most famous of all battles in the Revolution. The British advanced on the Patriots stationed on the hill how many times?

Answer: 3

The British advanced on the desperate Patriots three times. The Patriots ran out of ammunition, and resorted to using rocks, nails, and other things. Imagine how much of an unpleasant experience it must have been for some of those Redcoats.
3. At the Battle of Lexington and Concord (before the battle), a Redcoat General ordered the Patriots to lay down their arms and do what?

Answer: Disperse

This moment happened seconds before the firing of the mysterious "shot heard round the world" that started everything. American militia and minutemen took a brave stand at Lexington Green, where the war began.
4. General Charles Cornwallis surrendered and ended the Revolution at what battle?

Answer: Yorktown

The Battle of Yorktown, Virginia was the site of Cornwallis' surrender and the end of the tragic war. The U.S. had won the Revolution!
5. To alert the local militia that the Redcoats were moving, a certain number of lanterns were hung in a church chapel. What was the famous saying about the lanterns?

Answer: One if by land, two if by sea

Two lanterns were hung in the church chapel window because the Redcoats were advancing on Lexington by boat. Thanks to Paul Revere and some accomplices, the minutemen were alerted and were able to make a stand.
6. Soldiers of what nationality were stationed at Trenton when Washington and his men sailed there on Christmas night, 1776?

The Hessians did not expect to be attacked on Christmas, but they got a surprise. The famous painting "Washington Crossing the Delaware" by Emanuel Leutz shows Washington and his men sailing to Trenton. Whether or not Washington stood up in the boat, I don't know.
7. This woman married William Hays. During the Battle of Monmouth, when her husband was injured, she took the place of her husband, who had been manning a cannon. Who was this woman?

She was originally called "Molly Pitcher" because she would supply the wounded or desperate soldiers with water. But when her husband was injured and taken out of action, she took his place and helped the Patriot cause.

Answer: 28

The Americans won this battle. Many soldiers of both sides died of heat strokes and heart failure.

There is no such thing as the Washington War. Cornwallis was a major general in the Revolution and is widely known for his surrender to America at the Battle of Yorktown in 1781.
