The Ideal Performing State is a state of mind which when achieved you give yourself the best probability of doing your activity at your highest level of competency. It is a scale of extreme agitation (pumped up) to extreme calm (almost emotionless). It is an individual response that must be tested for to understand where a person sits on the scale and results are often poor when operating outside of the optimum individual level. An example of two different athletes would be Bjorn Borg (extreme calm) and John McEnroe (extreme agitation). Both were world champions in the same sport however both required different states of mind to achieve highest standards.

Answer: Remove weft and warp threads

To do drawn thread work you must first remove threads both warp and weft to gain gaps in the fabric. Then you embroider using a number of techniques to either alter the thread work, for example joining together or separating, as well as to sew on the edges of the removed threads. A very satisfying embroidery that allows you to use your imagination as well as your embroidery techniques.
