"Hackers" was a movie made in 1995. It is about a group of high school students who used their computer skills to hack into a variety of corporate and government computer programs. Jolie plays one of the students in the film. "Hackers" had a $20 million budget, and made a modest $28.7 million at the box office.

Answer: Playing God

"Playing God" is a 1997 movie that starred David Duchovny as a medical doctor who has lost his license to practice due to operating under the influence of drugs. He is subsequently hired by a crime boss as a personal physician. He is also used as a doctor who can patch up the associates of the boss whose injuries are a result of crime so they don't want to go to the hospital. Jolie plays the girlfriend of the crime boss who becomes romantically involved with Duchovny's character.

The film was considered a box office failure, having had a budget of $12 million, yet only making $4,166,918 when it was released to theatres.
3. Amelia Donaghy

"The Bone Collector" was released in the US in 1999. In this movie, Jolie plays a police officer named Amelia Donaghy who finds a dead body early in the film. With the help of a paraplegic forensics officer, she solves the initial crime, only to be drawn down a pathway that involves a serial killer. Denzel Washington plays the bed-ridden forensics officer in this film.

It was considered a hit, having been made for a budget of $48 million, and making $151.5 million at the box office.
4. Georgia Virginia Lawshe Woods

Answer: True Women

"True Women" is a television mini-series that was aired on the CBS network in the US in 1997. It is the story of a number of women in old-west Texas, from the Texas Revolution through the Civil War and the start of the women's suffrage movement. Jolie plays the part of a young woman who falls in love with a doctor who treats her for wounds suffered in a dog attack.

They marry and move to Texas where they struggle with contaminated river water that causes cholera in the community.
5. Lisa Rowe

Answer: Girl, Interrupted

"Girl Interrupted" was released in 1999. It is about a group of girls who have been committed to a psychiatric facility, all for various reasons. In this film, Jolie plays a young sociopath who has been in the institution from the age of twelve through the age of twenty.

Her performance was critically acclaimed despite the fact that critics gave the movie mixed reviews. The movie had a budget of $40 million, but only made $48.3 million at the box office.
6. Sara 'Sway' Wayland

Answer: Gone In 60 Seconds

"Gone in 60 Seconds" was released in June, 2000. Jolie co-stars with a number of others, including Nicholas Cage. She plays a bartender and auto mechanic, and he plays a reformed auto thief. In order to save his kidnapped brother, Cage's character agrees to steal a number of high-end cars. Jolie and Cage become romantically involved while stealing the targeted vehicles. "Gone in 60 Seconds" was not critically acclaimed, but it was successful at the box office.

The movie was made for an estimated $90-103.3 million, and took in $237.2 million at the box office.
7. Hannah Faber

Answer: Those Who Wish Me Dead

"Those Who Wish Me Dead" was released in 2021. In it, Jolie plays a "smoke jumper", a specially trained firefighter who works to mitigate wildfires in the American wilderness. She comes across a little boy who has witnessed the murder of his father. The boy is in danger because some assassins have been hired to kill him in order to silence him about what he saw.

He goes on the run with Jolie in order to stay safe. The film received a mediocre response from critics, and did not do overly well at the box office.

It was the second-worst opening of all-time up to that date by a film playing in over 3,000 theatres. It ended up grossing $23.4 million worldwide.
8. Christine Collins

Answer: Changeling

"Changeling" is a movie that was produced and directed by Clint Eastwood. It was released in 2008. In it, Jolie plays a woman whose son is abducted when he is nine years old. A few months later, the police department arranges a reunion for her, but the boy that she is reunited with isn't hers.

The police force the boy upon her in an attempt to gain positive publicity. When she says that he is not her son, she is committed to a psychiatric ward. The film is based on real events that occurred in 1928.

The film debuted at the Cannes Film Festival where it received critical acclaim. "Changeling" also did well at the box office. It had an initial budget of $55 million, and made $113.4 million in theatres.
9. Margaret 'Legs' Sadovsky

Answer: Foxfire

In the 1996 movie "Foxfire", Jolie plays a teenaged drifter nicknamed "Legs" who hooks up with a few other teenaged girls in Portland, Oregon. She encourages the other girls to confront a teacher who has been sexually harassing them. After the confrontation, the girls are suspended from school, and end up forming a group of misfits who have a few more adventures together before Legs leaves town.

The film was neither a critical nor a box office success. It made $269,300 at the box office.
10. Jane Smith

Answer: Mr. and Mrs. Smith

"Mr. and Mrs. Smith" was released in 2005. In this film, Jolie stars with Brad Pitt as assassins who work for competing agencies. They have been assigned by their respective agencies to kill each other. During this movie, Jolie and Pitt established a personal relationship off-screen that eventually led to their marriage in 2014, and their divorce in 2019.

The movie was not well-received by critics, but it was a box office success. It had an initial budget of $110 million and made $487.3 million at theatres.
