Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of the movie that was played on the flight to New York?

Answer: Mickey Blue Eyes

This was an absurdly funny scene which involved the stewardess and Ricky, played by Vince Vaughn. Ricky continuously pressed the call button to ask the stewardess a slew of idiotic questions, and then insulted her when he told her to round up some "honeys" in business class for a Gangster Pool Party.
2. What high school did Ricky and Bobby attend?

Answer: Hollywood High

The coach of Hollywood High's football team was played by Vince Vaughn's father Vernon. Bobby, played by Jon Favreau, and Ricky attended high school together. Apparently Ricky often defended Bobby, which was why Bobby put up with Ricky's antics.
3. What was the name of the account that Bobby and Ricky were "with" while in New York?

Answer: Cardiff Giant

Cardiff Giant was a hoax conceived by George Hull. Hull was a confirmed atheist. After having an argument with a fundamentalist minister about the existence of "Giants in the Earth", Hull created a 10 foot statue, later called the Cardiff Giant. Hull attempted to pass off the statue as an ancient relic.
4. Ricky said that he had to take on a roomful of what?

Answer: Westies

It was later revealed by Max that the "toughs" in the bar scene were not actually Westies. It was intimated that the entire job was just a test to judge Ricky and Bobby's ability to handle Max's affairs.
5. Name the interior designer who came to the job site and hit Ricky with his riding crop.

Answer: Bernardo

Bernardo, played by Bud Cort, commented to the home owners that the "trades" were slacking a bit, and he then hit Ricky on the backside with a riding crop for no apparent reason.
6. How much did Max give Ricky and Bobby each as a "per diem"?

Answer: $1500

This was my favorite scene in the movie. Max, played by Peter Falk, gave the boys $1500 apiece as a "per diem". Ricky did not understand what a "per diem" was and stated, "Yeah, that's MY per diem, but who gets their hands on this?" waving the money in the air. It is then explained that he can keep the money for expenses.
7. What was the name of the character played by Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs?

Answer: Ruiz

Combs portrayed himself as an aloof criminal who prided himself on sophistication. Ricky and Bobby waited for Ruiz at 112 Mulberry Street, which some believe was a reference to Combs' 112 label on Bad Boy Records.
8. What hotel did Ricky and Bobby stay at while in New York?

Answer: Soho Grand

The bellman explained the origin of the name Soho when he told Ricky that it was just South of Houston Street.
9. What kind of car did Bobby drive?

Answer: Trans Am

Bobby's Trans Am was believed to be a tribute to the famed black Trans Am driven by Burt Reynolds in "Smokey and the Bandit". "Smokey and the Bandit" was one of Jon Favreau's favorite movies.
10. The hotel had a nice café for people watching. According to the bellman, what actor sometimes came in?

Answer: Willem Dafoe

This comment was made by the bellman who was played by Sam Rockwell. The bellman made this statement as he described the many charms of the Soho Grand.
